Needed a late afternoon pick-me-up and didn't want espresso so late in the day so I went with a chai latte and reduced it to half sweetness. The adjusted sweetness suited my preference. Like you can expect of iced drinks from anywhere, they stick a ton of ice in the cup, so it got a bit watered down after drinking some and then letting in sit. Drink was made quickly. A good stop by between Sacramento & Stockton. My wife picked it, and came back to the car with a power house breakfast bagel, and a blended caramel mocha. Safe to say, I enjoyed both. My wife got a biscoff latte. Amazing! It looks like they offer a lot of outdoor seating, but the weather isn't cooperating today so I don't blame anyone for not being outside. This use to be my coffee joint when I lived in Galt. I was on a road trip down to Socal and hyped it up to the whole car. The colorful cow outside was a cute greeting on the way to coffee bliss. We came here from a recommendation of folks who live nearby. The place was really cute, but the coffee was just ok--and it is still the cost of coffee anywhere else. I think I just wasn't a fan of the type of coffee (roast) that they use. My son tried the donut and loved it. Everyone else said the coffee they had was great, so it just could have been a one-off for my drink that day. There are so many other great coffee spots within a short drive from here, I would just recommend trying out other spots. read more

Unexpectedly came upon this cafe. We were in the area and came two days in a row bc their drinks are great! The first day we came in the late afternoon and it wasn't busy. The next day we came in the morning and it gets really busy but service is quick. The staff were very friendly and patiently explained the menu and answered our questions. First day we ordered: -orange cream refresher: wasn't feeling anything w caffeine. Creamy orange flavor and I like how it's the right contrast of sweetness and creaminess. Very unique fruit smoothie. -mocha Java chip: blended smoothly without any icy bits! Strong coffee flavor with nice texture of tiny chips to chew on. Such a good drink! Second day we ordered: -mocha Java chip (again) since it was so good! -three chocolate mocha: a little on the sweeter side with less coffee flavor but still good! I think it has dark chocolate, white chocolate and vanilla flavor. - powerhouse on croissant: comes with choice of cheese plus lots of meat (bacon, sausage, eggs and ham). The croissant was flaky and crunchy, toasted well without being burnt. Def recommend this one! - bagel with Swiss, eggs and bacon: didn't order it but they have the breakfast powerhouse option on bagel as well. Comes out very hot since they prepare it fresh. The egg serving is very generous and bacon is crunchy. Overall, great option for a yummy breakfast! The price point is right for the quality. They have sweet and savory food options, and different coffee drinks. Their blended drinks are must. Would come back again if I'm in the area! read more

The food tastes great and they have some pretty good tasting drinks. Most of the employees are pleasant when we stop in. Usually we get our orders to go or delivered. If you have food allergies I would use caution ordering. We've had multiple instances of avocado or cream cheese being on our other items so it seems like they share knives or just place things sporadically when preparing orders. We also recently found hair in the avocado spread on our toast which was pretty disappointing. read more

This place is the coffee house VIBE. The couches, fire place, wood bar tables, all run by baristas that just know what they're doing and appreciate the craft. I love their seasonal drinks, most recently their eggnog. The barista (who we see regularly and remembers us) knew to ask how sweet I wanted to make it instead of just taking my naive order thinking it sounded good. She was very right and cut the eggnog with skim while also reducing the white powder. It was perfect as usual; never bitter or burnt. I also have a rule to never trust a coffee house that corrects an iced order made hot by just pouring over ice, and I don't anticipate that ever happening at Life's a Grind. I go out of my way for this place and it's worth it every time. read more

Great place to get coffee, and so much more. They carry Oat Jacks that are a great breakfast item, are delicious and a healthy, plus many other good food items to enjoy. . Of course we wanted to go to the place we haven't been to before and I thought it might be a chain that I didn't hear of. Nope it's the only one and it's got that coffee house feel for sure. People sitting around talking, the smell of coffee in the air, things to look at, and friendly staff. The coffee is hot, strong, and plentiful just like I like it.
