Shawn and his family have done an amazing job with the space and really made it feel like a step back in time to a cozy inn or cafe. The drinks are always well made and the pastries are amazing. My favorite local coffee shop! Every time I go I am greeted and treated well, and the drinks are delicious! Highly recommend!

Stopped by this morning for coffee. Had not been here in a while and it was the first we actually planned on sticking around to drink our coffee. I love the way this place is decorated! The owner, who was on site, decorated the interior which was a blend of local history, movie memorabilia and vintage items. The service was quick and friendly. They have a great list of Torani syrups. Including the largest list of sugar free syrups I have seen in a while. They also have a variety of baked goods that are made on site. We tried the blackberry turnover and the cinnamon twist. Both were delicious. I also took a slice of the coffee cake to take home. Apparently it gets great reviews. They also have a breakfast and lunch menu This is going to be our go to place for coffee in Galt! Lastly, our two large lattes and baked goods cost us less than $20. Compared to the "other" coffee spots in town this was a good value. Especially since the baked goods are baked fresh that sort of puts it over the top. read more

The ground floor of a hotel from the 1920s was renovated and repurposed to be this quaint little rustic cafe. I was looking most forward to trying the cold brew and coffee cake here since it seems like these are the standout items. --------------- Cold brew: taste of the coffee itself is alright (a little overly bitter) but I really like the cream used. It has a caramel/hazelnut-y vibe to it without being too sweet. I enjoyed the drink overall especially considering its price (less than 3 bucks for a small size.....could easily be 5 bucks elsewhere). Coffee cake: taste isn't anything to write home about, but I can see why people love it as I was pleasantly surprised that the cake is oil-based, which renders its iconic fluffiness and sponginess. It's like an exceptionally soft square-shaped muffin. Cinnamon twist (impulse bought): crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Not too heavy-handed on the sugar. Fun one to eat. --------------- Service was pretty awkward. During the middle of my ordering the cashier guy abruptly scolded another staff member for not handing a drink quickly to a customer. Overall a cafe worth checking out especially if you drive through here on the 99 frequently (makes a quick stop off of the highway). read more

I found this little gem of a place while driving through San Joaquin County. It has a lot of vintage decorations and a homey feel it's incredibly adorable. I asked the proprietor about his coffee drink and he said he doesn't drink coffee but their Chai is fantastic. I ordered the English toffee latte and it was delicious. I also had a slice of the coffee cake that they are known for. I am a foodie and a competitive baker. I can tell you this is one of the best coffee cakes I've ever had. It was incredibly moist and flavorful, I would highly recommend this place if you ever are in Galt. read more

This shop is next-door to where I get my hair done. Every 5 to 6 weeks or so, I go into The Coffee Shop Bakery and buy something to eat and drink. Their pastries are delectable, I recommend a ham and cheese croissant. Their sandwiches are also super delicious! Very fresh and made with care. Nothing is sloped on, like some of your larger chain sandwich, shops. I love their hibiscus tea and their passion tea. I prefer them iced but I'm sure that all of their teas and coffees taste just as good hot. I would highly recommend anything and everything that they offer. The ambience is cozy and eclectic. I love how they use furniture for their little coffee condiments. It gives off a very homey feeling. You can either eat there or outside. Give it a try, I promise, you won't be sorry. This is my first time here at the new location, this place is a hidden gem for sure. If your traveling south I would strongly recommend this place! This coffee shop is so homey with all the furnitures. In addition there prices are so cheap! I think I only paid $3 for a large cold brew with sweet cream, and there coffee cake is only $2!!! They both taste amazing! Coffee to creamy balance is perfect. And the coffee cake is so moist. I live out in Elk Grove and would willing to drive 20 minutes to this place. I haven't been back to Galt in a long time and I wanted to head down "memory lane" to Baker's Deli. Unfortunately, Baker's has been out of business for years, but The Coffee Shop Bakery did *not* disappoint. I'm happy here for breakfast, lunch, or their baked goodies. I'm not an everyday coffee drinker, so I'm grateful for their recommendations; the staff is fantastic with those and haven't let me down once! Plus, they nake great tea. I really wanted to give it one star to keep others away. I want it all to myself. I had an appointment in Galt (I live in Lodi) and used Yelp to search for a coffee shop. This place popped up and I gave it a try. It's adorable. I love the environment, plenty of seating too. The lady taking my order was very helpful. Since it was my first time in, I asked for pastry recommendations. She told me their best sellers and I chose the coffee cake. It was DELICIOUS. I had it heated up. It was soft, tender, and melt in your mouth delicious. I sat for a while and just enjoyed myself. It's been almost a week and I have thought about going back a few times. I think I'll head over this week to try it out as a place to get some computer work done. Don't miss the outside. The "street" cows along the road opposite the shop seem to be a Galt masterpiece. This place is really cute when you walk in. However, the guy who wears a hat. Always seems flustered. I came in onetime. An hour past opening. There were barely any pastries out. He seemed annoyed I asked when they would be ready. Theres also a lady with dark hair who works there. Its very obvious they don't work well together. A bit awkward when they bicker at each other. A yummy little place in Old Town Galt. Make my first stop here, Im a little late to the party. The decor is adorable and inviting, I could definitely hang out here with some friends on the weekend. The girl behind the counter was apparently the owners daughter. She was very helpful. She asked if this was my first time. I replied, "yes." And she walked me thru the entire menu and yummy baked goodies. I told her what I liked and she made excellent suggestions. The sweet cream cold brew was her favorite, it wasn't really sweet but just had a hint of sweetness. And she told me the coffee cake was a family recipe and it was very popular. So of coursed I walked out the door with the sweet cream cold brew and coffee cake. The cold brew did not disappoint, it was strong with just hint of sweetness, it was perfect! And the coffee cake.... OMG! I had to resist the temptation to get back in the car and drive back to buy the rest. It is honestly THE BEST coffee cake I think I've ever had. It was so moist and fluffy. I think I may go get some after Im done with this review now that Im thinking about it. But now let's talk food... If they've put it in a turnover, I've had it. Apple, Blackberry, Cherry, you name it. Their croissants are tender, buttery, & flaky, so if you haven't tried one, you're missing out. Saturday morning, 9:15 a.m. We tried to go for breakfast based upon Yelp's 4.7 star reviews (searched 'Breakfast in Galt), even though no actual menu appears when one clicks the link for 'menu.' Directions from Maps seemed rather straightforward--turn onto 4th Street, restaurant on the now near 10. to us, Galt has a Saturday fair, blocking off 4th. We went around to 3rd, thewon approached from the other direction, leaving us parking a few blocks away. My partner has mobility issues. Maps directed us a block short. I called the restaurant, asking their location, explaining we were on 4th. "Our LOCATION?" the answerer exclaimed incredulously, "You want to know our LOCATION?! We're right on the corner of C!" Ah, sarcasm. No. The corners of C and 4th are occupied by a vacant building on one corner and a store (?) called Hazel's on the other (neither are cafe/bakeries). Since we were on C, we thought perhaps it was a block or two up. Nope. Partner is in pain. I go back to that corner and go further north--it's next to (north of) the corner of C and 4th. We make it in after a short rest. I realize that there are exactly three items on the breakfast 'menu' (two of which are muffins, the third is biscuits and gravy), and that we will have to stand in line to order. It's now near 10. I used to stop by at their previous location around the block, but have not been to this new one except one time. They make what is argue-ably the best fresh coffee cake ever! I have even purchased an entire pie tin to take home for the family dessert a time or two. Much larger slice than you get at Starbucks, but very moist and home made, and resonably priced. Staff is wonderful and friendly. I understand they have many more items you can order now too. The reason for the 4 star is, I think their decaf coffee (which is all I drink) is highly lacking in strength and flavor. Every time I used to order it, I was disappointed.
