I was…read morebrowsing the candles and toiletries area, taking my time with smelling the scents and deliberating over my choice. The person working the register said hello when I came in and went back to looking at their computer screen. But once I was no longer in view, the person came to do a circle around the area where I was standing and said, "I'm doing inventory." GIRL, BYE. I'm an auditor by profession and I know what conducting an inventory looks like. Also, people just doing their job do their jobs without explanation required. There were some other things this person did and overall, it was an ugly experience. I haven't been profiled in a long time and it still feels gross and reminds me how awful people can be. I found something special for my friend, and I bought it. I also bought it for myself because after this experience I needed something soothing too. I won't let one person change my mind about a place I shopped at for years but if I see this person when I walk in, I'm turning around and leaving. HomeGrown has great gifts if you want something locally-made that feels special. And in all these years, this is the only time I've experienced anything like this so I'll likely be back. Just some of the shine is gone.

The gift was going to Colorado. Since it was a "Christmas gift" I assumed that it would arrive timely or within a day or two. I emailed the company since I had no tracking number on the 23rd of December. Their response was they were preparing the order that day. Note: 5 days after placing the order, And I would receive a tracking number. Furthermore, they said there was a disclaimer regarding a delay in shipping. Well...I never heard a word back, so I went back to the website. I checked the pages that I visited and there was no indication that the "Christmas Gift" would not be shipped timely. I then went to the order tracking page, where I found the tracking number and at this point I learned the "Christmas Gift" would not be delivered until JANUARY 2, 2025! -That is 16 days from ordering date. Apparently customer service is not a priority. I am now extremely concerned about my order and if it is going to be what I ordered. If not I will immediately initiate a charge back through my credit card company!! Extremely disappointed!!!!!! Merry Christmas, Karen I hope you get everything you wished for on Christmas.

Staff were openly commenting about how nice the item was and saying they wished they had noticed it sooner. Whether intentional or not, it gave the impression that desirable items may not actually be available to customers. Sad to say I don't recommend. Edit: The reply from the owner clearly shows how out of touch he is with his store and its sellers. There are multiple people who can attest of the behavior of the modifying and removal of the piece I was interested in. A simple check in with your employees would confirm the situation. Congrats on the 45 years you hold in the community maybe tell your sellers to try and do better in the years to come! Honesty and humility go a long way. Even the displays feature true farmhouse aesthetic with country style tables placed on wooden pallets with burlap accents. They didn't even forget about the storage room which features a beautiful barn doors as the entrance. She let us know she was available to help and then let us wonder around until we were ready to check out. I was taken aback when I was not ever greeted. I wasn't offered any assistance as I walked around. I attempted to engage the women behind the counter when I was paying, but I felt dismissed. I loved the items I purchased, and the decorative environment is charming. I have been there twice. Unfortunately, the poor customer service spoiled the experience each time. I don't plan on returning.
