Hands down one of the most delicious Italian restaurants I've been to. Our server was amazing and went above and beyond to make it a memorable experience. We tried the fettuccine Alfredo, pesto gnocchi, arancini, eggplant Parmesan, and the pollo speciale. They also have a great wine selection and we really enjoyed the Chianti with our food. They start out by giving you a complimentary garlic foccacia bread which is SO good and hard to stop eating lol. The arancini either comes with 3 large balls or 8 minis. We opted for the 8 minis for our group and loved it! Perfectly crispy and flavorful-highly recommended! I'm usually not a fan of gnocchi at all but this one was out of this world fantastic and would definitely order it again! The pesto flavor and texture was also perfectly creamy. My husband and I were at the casino for a comedy show and wanted to grab a bite beforehand. I hadn't seen any reservations available for Spago earlier in the day but since we were there we decided to stop by and see what our options may be before going somewhere else in the complex. Luckily, bar seating was first come/first served and we were able to get a spot pretty quickly. Everything we had was great! We started with the complimentary bread (served with cloves of roasted garlic, YUM) and each ordered pasta. Carbonera for the gentleman, the lobster pappardelle for me. They both came with your choice of salad and we both went for the caesar (when in Rome, right? Puns fully intended) and for a starter it was a very generous portion. Then the pasta--another VERY generous portion. Mine was delicious and full of tasty seafood like scallops, shrimp and lobster bits tossed in a blush sauce. It was so good I ate myself silly but the portion was so great it looked like I barely made a dent! I wish I had been able to take the leftovers home with me but given we were going to the show it sadly wasn't in the cards. My husband also loved his carbonara. I had a bite and can confirm--it was delicious. Unfortunately we lacked the time (or space in our stomachs) for dessert but I would definitely plan to come earlier to go for that in the future. My husband and I both agreed that we would easily come out to Windsor just to dine here, we both liked it so much. The other benefit is that it's pretty much right by the Colleseum. So if you're seeing a show there it's the perfect place to grab a bite or a drink. Just plan to make a reservation early if you want a more formal dining experience. read more

We started with the grilled squid and the Spago and berry mojito, along with the house bread. We then moved on to house salads. We ordered both seafood pastas. For dessert, we ordered cappuccinos and a recommendation by Kasha. Everything listed was delicious and fresh. We had a wonderful experience and look forward to going back again. We dined in on a Saturday night. The place was packed and the crowd noise was loud. Tables were very close together... made maneuvering to/from the table difficult. Our waiter Callum was fantastic. Friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu. Sometimes a waiter can make or break a visit...he definitely made it. Despite being busy, we never were rushed, and he popped by frequently to check on us. Kudos. Food was above average, and we all cleared our massive portion sized meals (despite insisting when it was put in front of us that we wouldn't be able to). According to my handy dandy official guide to Windsor tour book, Spago is listed as the best date night/Italian restaurant in the city. And after seeing it for myself, it's not hard to see why! Let's talk service- our waiter and his assistant were outstanding! Super knowledgeable of the menu and our drinks were never empty. Food was absolutely divine- we couldn't decide which we liked more, the lasagna or fettuccine Alfredo. I recommend getting both so you can try some of each. The complimentary focaccia bread was also perfection. Next time I'm in Windsor, I'll definitely be stopping in again. Note, Spago's exquisite cuisine is not a well kept secret. This is a cute little spot tucked in the Caesar's Windsor hotel. I went once before about a year ago and it was as a decent experience i just met a friend at the bar. But I went yesterday while staying at the casino hotel for a show for my anniversary. Even if the food wasn't good (which it was!) I would give 5 stars for our waiter Rico. He was phenomenal. Supper attentive. Gave great suggestions and just all around cool guy. So we initially picked this restaurant for its convenience (right next to the hotel part of the casino but the casino itself had like 4-5 restaurants) my husband and I ordered a large house salad(very good for a basic salad) calamari (the lemon aioli and spicy marinara were ) , garlic bread (complimentary with entree) and pesto pollo pizza. We also had good drinks (berry mojito and old fashioned) and they surprised us with a complimentary tiramisu for our anniversary! So we went to the show full and happy and decided because we had such a good experience we would swing back post show for some late night eats. I wanted to take my parents out for a nice dinner. We were able to make a reservation easily. We wanted to eat outside on the patio, and that was no problem. I know that some restaurants don't take patio reservations, so that was great! When we arrived, we were promptly greeted. The restaurant inside is beautiful. It almost took be back to vacation in Italy with the greenery all around. The tables were also well spaced out for Covid. We were brought outside to the patio and seated. One of the booths opened up and we asked to move to a booth, and they moved us over without hesitation. We ordered the calamari to start, the pasta carbonara and the pasta with mussels and shrimp. Everything was so tasty, and the portions were huge! We had leftovers to take home. Each pasta came with a fresh house salad too, and can't forget the delicious complimentary bread. For dessert we had the pistachio gelato, the tiramisu, and the regular cannolis. Again, really delicious and big portions! We have our lunch set for tomorrow. Our service was exceptional. I love when I walk into a restaurant and am immediately greeted with the scent of warm bread and garlic. Mmm :) That's exactly what happened here. Started with a red sangria that was fruity, light, and refreshing while enjoying the bruschetta that was brought to the table. The bruschetta was warm and garlicky and perfect. Like I said, so much better than a basic bread basket. The only thing that would have made it better would have been some dipping oil for it on the side. The dinner salad that came with my meal was a very simple - mixed greens with their Italian dressing - and some simple is best, because I ate every bite. I loved it. For the entree, I had the linguine di mare with the white wine sauce. It has shrimp, scallops, and mussels, and while it was great, the scallops were tiny (I think Joe Muer ruined me haha) which was a little disappointing. But still, a great dish, and I had enough to take some home. My friend enjoyed her veal dish as well. Wish I would have had room for dessert.. Maybe next time. Service was great, too. The bread and salad are always on point too. Pricing is quite reasonable for the portion/quality. Service always friendly. You can tell management actually cares. Goes a long way! It's loud. *Really* loud. So loud that I choose to believe that although I pointed to the appetizer, and our server (Keighn) acknowledged that I wanted the appetizer size, he brought me and charged me for the the dinner portion. Perhaps the noise volume accounts for the fact that I specified what my allergens were, yet my meal included items that I could not eat. I didn't love that I was charged for meal that I couldn't consume. I didn't mention it when the food arrived because I didn't want to ruin the experience for my guests who haven't been out to eat in far too long. One of the other guests paid the bill, so I didn't know about the dinner vs. appetizer charge until after the bill was paid. Again, I would not have wanted to cast a pall over the celebration for other people, so I wasn't about to call them up to debate it. It must be stated that the portions are generous (bring your own takeaway containers!), the prices are reasonable and the menu can accommodate most diets. We were seated as soon as vaccination records were checked. Birthdays are recognized with a robust sparkler in a complimentary dessert. I would return, but this outpost is my least favourite of the three in Windsor. read more

We both had pasta dishes, neither of us were overly impressed, especially since it's was $30 dishes each. The fact they offer shaker Parmesan cheese, over real fresh stuff, doesn't scream quality. The veal was actually kinda tough and not that flavourful. The blush chicken had a $3 up charge to get blush sauce on pasta that came with it?!?!? Neither the Alfredo nor blush sauce gave the impression it had any fresher ingredients than the Parmesan shaker cheese. Living in Toronto, we are use of Toronto prices. EVERYTHING is so expensive especially food. We did a weekend trip to Point Pelee for our Anniversary and headed to Windsor for dinner. I decided to go to Spago. I ordered a pasta dish and my husband ordered a soup and salad. Little did we know, if you order an entree you automatically get free Bruschetta and a salad. They used pizza dough to make their Bruschetta and it comes hot! The pasta dishes were also very large! They are definitely generous with their portions. I don't know when was the last time I went to a restaurant that included such a large complimentary appetizer and salad especially in Toronto. We were definitely surprised and even more surprised when we saw a bill for $27 for 2 people. Something like this in Toronto would cost you over $70 + dollars. The service is great. Our particular server even felt bad for neglecting us and waived something form our bill. This was probably our cheapest Anniversary dinner! I want to come back! read more
