Shop local! I…read morepurchased a mattress here 2 years ago and it was a pretty big financial purchase for me. I wanted to do it right. There are zillions of mattress store options out there, both in person and online. Where to begin? So I began by trying to seek out a locally owned and operated store. That's how I found this place. I ended up being helped by the store's owner; I wish I could remember his name. He was patient with me and not pushy. I already knew I wanted memory foam so he let me take my time trying out different kinds (yes, when mattress shopping you have to actually lie down onto mock beds in the store. So embarrassing). When I picked one (can't remember the model but it is cream-colored with green stitching of images of bamboo), the guy encouraged me to buy a mattress cover for it. I hadn't been planning on buying of those; was he trying to upsell me something I didn't need? He calmly explained what the mattress cover does (keeps moisture, dust, tiny bugs, etc. off your mattress) and showed me a sample of the fabric stretched over top a glass of water. He tipped the glass upside down and the fabric stayed sealed, not a drop spilled. So I bought the mattress cover for an extra $50 approximately, and now years later I'm very glad I did. Now how to get the mattress to my 2nd floor apartment in a different part of town? The guy (sorry again that I can't remember his name) offered to deliver it personally in his own truck for an extra 40 or so bucks in cash. Deal! He came to my place the very next day and helped me to set it up, and kudos for him for managing to make that situation as professional and comfortable as possible (strange man in my bedroom is generally a big no-no). The goal with a mattress is that you won't need to buy another one for many years, but if I ever have a friend who is looking I will send them straight to Louisville Mattress.

I bought my sofa (which I love!) at the Jefferson Blvd store. It was $150 less than at Wayfair. I didn't mind waiting weeks for delivery. Two days before it was to be delivered, I got 7 phone messages about the time on Saturday before Easter. The messages were garbled, but I got the 3 hours time frame. Great - I waited all Saturday afternoon till 5:45 with no delivery. I called the store number and the auto message said it was closed. Of course - Easter weekend. Monday I went to the store (1/2 hour drive for me) and told them what happened. They said I didn't confirm the delivery. If that was on the message, I didn't get it. They also said I should have gotten a text and email. On my receipt, neither was listed, although I remember giving both to the salesman. When I told them I called on Saturday at 6:00 and the store was closed, everyone at the Service Desk said they were there until 10:00 pm just as the website said! I asked for the delivery charge ($50) to be dropped and the young man at the Service Desk said Sure and I signed the form. We rescheduled for a week later. I made sure they had all the correct information. I got phone, text and email notifications about the time. The delivery was made with no problems and as I said, the couch is just what I wanted. BUT - a week later I still had no $50 refund so I called the store again. A woman named Amber said it didn't go through bc it had to go through her. No one told me that - I would have walked it through! She submitted it and I called 3 days later and was told (by someone else) that it takes a week to 10 days to process. Really? Home Depot refunds show up on my bank the same day. It's too bad that the Ashley ratings on several sites (here are more: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/furniture/ashley.html) are so terrible because of this, it seems easy to fix. There isn't much effort at customer satisfaction or even conscientiousness about doing a good job. I reserve judgement on whether they think customers will just forget about a refund or a bad experience.
