I came here with my coworkers for lunch one day. They always wanted to try this restaurant so we did. It was busy for lunch rush, but we were able to be seated right away. I ordered spaghetti with meatballs and it had extra cheese on it. The waiter recommended it so I figured I would try it because I love cheese. When it came out, there was a ton of cheese on it, maybe a bit too much. Not enough sauce on the spaghetti. There was a lot of pasta and enough to have leftovers. The bread that came with it wasn't cooked all the way through. It tasted doughy and undercooked. My coworkers got pizza. The pizza did look better and they ate all of it. This place is run by a bunch of morons! We have always loved Spanky's. We have been loyal customers of the 610 & Telephone Road location for over 30 years, and fully supported the LaPorte/Deer Park locale back when they were open, but this location is plagued with hiring morons and they just can't seem to get it together. We have long given up trying to enjoy dine-in service, even way before COVID, but honestly their take out is the worst. We have experienced every issue imaginable, coming home with the wrong pizza, pizza made incorrectly, etc the list goes on. This past week I told my husband that I was hungry for Spanky's, he said he would call it in and pick it up on his way home. He called and they said "will be ready in 20 minutes". He got there in 20, paid for the order and they could not find our pizza. He waited and waited and after a good 10 minutes asked what the issue was and was told that our pizza had not been made and he would have to wait. He verbalized his displeasure since it was obvious that they dropped the ball, so some girl who claimed to be the manager on duty came to the counter and he told her he was unhappy with the service and she said "it's not our fault", he replied "well, it's not my fault, I called in the order giving you plenty of time to prepare my order, so if it's not your fault then who is responsible for this situation?" Her reply..."it's technology's fault"...wait, what? WTF, do you mean it's technology's fault?? It seems as though the printer that prints the little tickets, based upon cashier taking the order and entering into their system, ran out of paper and the cashier didn't notice, so none of the order tickets were printing and being clipped to the binder clips and shoved to the cooks on the little cable, so all the orders backed up. But what is obviously a human error made by a moron is being touted as "technology's fault"! I guess because the printer can't change out the little roll of paper tape itself they feel justified in blaming the printer. I swear this is a true story, it can't get any worse than this! The only reason they get 2 stars is because the pizza is normally very good. Maybe we just need to order and drive to 610 & Telephone and skip this location all together! read more

Bad: Breadsticks, they are bland and if you get cheese its just got bad looking melty cheese on top, not very appealing. First time I go in, I order the spinach and garlic pizza, came with no marinara. Second time I go to this place I order the same thing because I enjoyed it so much the first time. And this time it had marinara. I don't know what pizza place makes a pizza like that with marinara. Alfredo I could understand. I asked a manager, or some type of manager at the time, if the pizza came with marinara because the last time I had it, it did not. I didn't care for their response nor their lack of customer service skills. I did not want to wait for another pizza to be ordered, so I made no attempt in correcting the order. I'll know better for next time I go, if I go. Also, had a side salad, parts of the lettuce were browning and some parts had that crisp watery bite to it as if it was partially frozen and now defrosting. Oh well. My husband and I were in no rush, so we ordered the fried mushrooms, onion rings, fried pickles, along with 2 of their draft beers. The atmosphere is very conversational, not that we need one, but we truly enjoyed the decor. Our server Brianna was terrific. She was consistent in checking with how we were doing and offered recommendations when we asked. We finally chose the Toscano pizza (I wish we would have ordered a bigger size). And now to the pizza, you get more bread than toppings so don't get the hand toss or deep dish if you don't want to pay $20+ for bread. And their drink cocktails "ARE WAY OVER PRICED", they charge a high premium price which I would be okay with but the bartenders there "ARE NOT TOP SHELF BARTENDERS" and the drinks ordered were terrible, so just get a Beer nobody can mess that up.
