Barely any wait time to meet the Dr. did a thorough examination and was patient with me and didn't make me feel rushed. Then I had to pick out my lens.. this is when my experience went from really good to WOW!!! I met Theresa. Can't say enough about her. She was so helpful and honest helping me pick out my new frames. I've never had such a disappointing experience with an eyeglass store. I brought in my glasses for repair, and the store actually broke the bridge. I was told I'd get my original glasses back, but weeks went by, and I was repeatedly given the runaround--only to eventually be told they couldn't be found. After all that, the store offered me a replacement pair, but the new glasses are noticeably poor quality. They fog up constantly, don't match my original prescription, and just feel cheap overall. When I tried to get the issue resolved, I spent weeks calling and following up, only to be told it was the ophthalmologist's fault. My eye doctor confirmed that the prescription is correct--the problem is the glasses themselves. I'm now stuck with subpar glasses and no resolution after weeks of back-and-forth. This was handled very poorly from start to finish, and I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone. read more

I walked in to a fairly empty store to look for glasses frames for a prescription they prescribed. No one acknowledged me though there were about 3 workers around. You can't try glasses on because they are behind glass and thought they were all busy so I waited just browsing the glass cases. After about 5-10 min of no one even saying that they will be with me shortly or anything, I walked out to make a phone call. About 10 minutes later I walked back in and THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED! Hi Jeff and Doctor Colinni, today I went into spare pair to replace a contact that ripped. I ask for one and wanted to pay for it. I keep on coming back as Dr. Colinni has been my only eye doctor for years. Today it was unpleasant speaking to front desk and the guy who works there didn't confirm which Kaplan I was and brought out wrong chart. Regardless, Melissa was there and handled my concern in a split second. I understand that people might be new or come from a different location, but please be a human being and looking at computers and getting wrong charts. My elderly mother and I have been customers for Spare Pair for several years. As we walked in, we were greeted by Mike. He assisted my mother in selecting eyeglass frames. After patiently listening to our requirements for the type of frames which best fit her, he carefully selected frames for her. Mike also took the time to assist my mother onto a chair to ensure she would be sitting comfortably while he was taking measurements. Additionally, he adjusted the nose pads on the eyeglasses to ensure a more comfortable fit. His thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated and should be commended. One can see Mike is very courteous, accommodating, demonstrates extreme professionalism and knowledgeable of all the products. We have been using Dr. Collini for about 15 years now. The office has state of the art equipment.... This I know because I had gone to another optometrist for about a year who took my insurance yet it was an awful experience. I ended up coming back to Dr. Collini, paying out of pocket because he and his office staff are extremely knowledgeable and top-notch. So throughout the years I've been very very satisfied but today, on a busy Saturday, I needed help with processing two rebates with acuvue. Melissa took the time to help me go online and process two rebates totaling $500. All in all I think their care is very professional and I really wouldn't trust anyone else with the care of our eyes. My wife and I have vision insurance thru vsp, the Spare pair gladly accepts their insurance. The process is fairly simple. The folks run your insurance and let you know what you are entitled to, exam, frames, lenses etc. Spare pair has a tremendous selection of eyeglass and sunglass frames for all the budgets. The doctor was fantastic, extremely friendly and provided my wife and I with a thorough exam. I was impressed with the amount of employees there milling about offering help and advice. My wife and I chose our frames and settled on a cost. We left a deposit for our glasses, the office called us a few hours later to let us know that they made a mistake and the glasses would be a few dollars more and would that be ok. I like that they confirmed the change. Glasses were completed within a week. My wife and I were fitted and on my way. Now I will say that there are a ton of online eyeglass companies where you can get bargain basement frames and lenses but fit is always a challenge.....check out the Spare pair if in need. read more

After a disastrous episode at Pearle where they pulled a bait and switch, I was so happy I ended up here. They actually had a much better selection than Pearle and prices were much better. Kate Spade Miranda glasses at Pearl were $269, at Spare Pair III they were $210. My somewhat complicated lenses were $330 at Spare Pair III, a whopping $1014 at Pearle, and that is comparing apples with apples - same prescription, coating, etc. They actually bent over backwards to get me the frames I wanted, in the size I wanted. As for the "tall woman with long black hair" about whom another reviewer made disparaging remarks, she took lots of time helping me choose frames, her suggestions were excellent and she took time to answer questions I had. I think her business-like attitude was taken for "stuck-up." While I was happily contemplating $250 frames, she brought over a pair of $99 frames that she thought would be flattering. She actually expressed that she thought they looked better than the $250 frames. So much for "they'll do anything to make a buck." The only way you could do better, price-wise, would be to order on the internet, and then you would have no one to turn to if you have problems, your glasses would not be custom fit to your face, and you wouldn't know what they would look like on you until they came. They also will not let you have a second copy of your prescription without you having to come in to get it yourself. The said that her family had been coming there since they opened twenty something years ago. Reluctantly I paid full price for the exam because I needed a prescription purchase new glasses. After leaving I contacted my insurance company and advised me that I was COVERED! The insurance rep contacted Spare Pair and told them they had to refund the payment I made to them. I had already left and had to waste more time out of my day to go back to the store and get my refund. If the front desk has done their job and not assumed my insurance was not accepted. Not a good experience at all.. the Dr. was very pleasant to deal with but the customer service is lacking, awful experience for an eye physician's office. The wrong size contact lenses was ordered, not sure if the office ordered wrong or the doctor wrote it down wrong but they would not own up to the mistake & were unwilling to correct the situation because the boxes were opened. The owner/manager was so rude & condescending, basically stating that it was my fault. Towards the end of the phone call, the owner actually hung up on me!
