We ordered a baked potato on the side to share, which comes with garlic butter. They also brought plain bread slices on the side. The pork ribs were both tender and flavorful. My husband liked the classic dry rub better than the smoked. The salad was crispy thanks to celery slices. The garlic butter on the baked potato was creamy, strong, and addictive.. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. When we left, we asked the mamager where the sister bar was located exactly and he directed us across the street to Cafe GDG.the adventure continues! I had the mixed grill - a plate of lamb, beef, chicken and ground beef plus grilled vegetables. all taste and well cooked. The restaurant is upstairs and you have a nice view of the Leidseplein square down below and I like the interior. Everything is cooked with the big green egg (hence the name) and it was really tasty. They also serve the Brouwerij 't IJ IPA beer which I became a fan of. Service was very friendly, and reasonably fast (I was not in a hurry). So the prices are on the high side (we spend about 40 € per person for food and a couple of drinks) which puts me off a little, but if your in town and look for a good meal then by all means: go here.

Half or whole chicken with your choice of a side. Also, it's pretty cheap €14,50 for the half and € 28 for the whole. And for Amsterdam, that's cheap, especially when paying for freshness. The chickens are cooking (where we were sitting) in front of you and it was so juicy and lightly crispy and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I know it sounds weird but for my side I got apple sauce and don't regret it. When I come back to Amsterdam, I will definitely be coming back here.

I was so excited when I saw the name 'Chicago Spareribs', because I was hoping they would taste like real Chicago spareribs, but sadly they're just another tortuous experiment in Dutch dining. They even have chicken ribs somehow. I don't know how they exist, but they are there.

So, I had made reservations on Thursday evening, but our plans changed and we had to cancel. We tried again the next night, but had to pay a non-cancel "deposit" of 10 euros each for our party of five, 50 euro. But we were sure we could make it and booked. Now if you're thinking that the deposit was charged due to our prior cancellation, it's not the case since another person in our party booked the second reservation. It was well worth the deposit! Firstly, the location is in the Rembrandt area and very nice and active area. We were seated just inside the restaurant, with a very comfortable table, seats and window. The ambiance is great with popular music playing and a very bustling staff that is very attentive, friendly and helpful. The menu is vast and includes a lot of great options including French favorites such as frog legs and snails. We started with an adventurous order of the frog legs and they were amazingly good and the sauce was amazing! We ordered a bit of family style including the Cote Beouf, French onion soup, baked potato, fries, vegetables, chicken, ribeye. It was the perfect amount for the five of us and left room for dessert, which we ordered as a brownie and we asked for a custom dessert of ofogato, or ice cream with espresso poured over, an Italian favorite of mine!
