Visit Date: March 17, 2015 While we were taking a day tour of Amsterdam we stopped here for dinner. The seating is sort of communal but it's not an issue unless the place is too crowded. I had the veggie burger and it was so spicy and delicious the fries were great too. The coffee was also very good, in Amsterdam they always serve you a little cookie with your coffee which is really awesome! The restaurant had a clean/classy/modern/somewhat enchanting look to it, it's meant to be brightly lit by the sun on Sunny days. the food gets all five stars. the service unfortunately knocks it down to three. i ordered the geflipt burger with no bacon. the beef was perfectly cooked and the geflipt sauce was amazing. the burger was delicious but it got a bit messy. the beef was thick-- definitely not a bad thing, we love to see it. just use the skewer that the burgers are served with and you'll be set. the buns were perfectly toasted and the fries were next level. it didn't take too long for our food to arrive, but the server was a bit cold. i felt like my presence alone was annoying her. if you want a really good burger, i highly recommend. read more

They are fast, they are big (the burgers), they are small (the space), and they managed to get a really cosy atmosphere in a crowded street, in contrast with the Albert Cuyp market right next to it. 2 weeks ago, it was during my exam week and I had a very bad craving for burger. That the reason why I came to this shop with my friend to fill our bodies with calories to survive hahahaah It's a huge burger. The bread buns was roasted in the ovens until nice and crunch. The grilled beef is just juicy. It came with a sunny side up egg and it was just amazing. The lamb burger (the specialty of the week) was alright. The service here was fantastic. When we walked into Geflipt, we only had about 30-40 minutes to eat before the start of our canal tour. We explained the situation to the server, who agreed that he could try to get our food started a little earlier so that we would have enough time to eat. It helped that it wasn't super busy, but we got our food as promised and eagerly dug in. My burger was extremely tall, with a thick patty, and I had a hard time taking proper bites without having things slide out between the buns. Also, there wasn't enough of a flavor balance. The meat kind of overpowered everything without leaving room for the notes of vegetable and pickle to come through. But overall, it was a decent meal, fries included. read more

Love this place - they do 'burger as a salad' which is amazing for people who don't love bread (like me). They've got a nice inventive burger menu plus a big menu of optional toppings and sides. I know, it's madness. There's another burger joint in the hood and to save my poor little tooties another little walk (I only saved myself walking three blocks.. I know, madness), I settled for a burger here instead. First off, it was probably because of the day we went rather than it always being the case but the service here was a little short. We stumbled into the burger joint, in the biggest group ever (could have been a gang, but a fabulous one mind you) after an exciting afternoon watching Pride unfold on the canals and it looked as though everyone within walking distance appeared to have the same idea. What was amazing was the little seats they had set up outside for solo / duos which I thought was pretty great! Onto the service, because there was so many of us, you could tell the staff were a little stressed. And whilst some of us were at the start of the line, a few also in the same group were told they'd be waiting 30 minutes or more for their burgers (in the end, it worked out to be about 45 odd minutes). And then the burger itself! At this stage, my poor little belly was eating itself from the inside from having waited so long, so I was glad to be able to finally sink my teeth in. Drum roooooooll pleeeeease! Ding ding ding! It was a pretty good burger! It came with bacon (+1), pickles (+1), fried egg (+I'm still undecided about this) and gooey grossly melty cheese (+1) and a decent sized patty with all the standard extras. The problem though with a sweet-ish brioche-like bun though and all the juicy extras, is that by the time you're half way through, your fingers resemble that of a butcher so I ditched the soggy coating halfway through but hey, who needs the extra carbs? Not me.. especially because I needed that precious stomach space for the side of frites I ordered. I'll definitely be back again when it's less crazy out and about, as there is a lamb burger on the menu with my name on it! So onwards until the next time.. read more

As we were on a tight schedule I just asked for the bill and told a new waitress, what we thought of the meal. To add insult to injury my children's burger ended up costing more than their standard burgers, once they'd charged me for each additional topping. Paid 25 euros for two burgers and left.
