Update: After my initial review, I was contacted directly by the General Manager, who was very understanding and sincerely apologetic about our experience. She took the time to listen to our situation regarding the unexpected tournament location change and ultimately refunded our reservation. That level of customer service and willingness to make things right completely changed my perspective. While the original situation was frustrating, I truly appreciate the professionalism, empathy, and follow-through shown by management afterward. It says a lot about a hotel when leadership is willing to step in, listen, and resolve concerns thoughtfully. Convenient spot for catching the Modesto Roadsters games. The hotel has been newly renovated so it's a very pleasant stay. They offer a free limited breakfast bar. It's in an industrial area but the parking lot is well lit. read more

The exterior is not very nice, and I did not like the area. I saw some guy circling around on his bike in front of our window. The front desk person was super nice. 3 stars is about right for Spark by Hilton Modesto. Check in was easy and fast. Check out was easy just drop off room keys in box at lobby. The room was really stuffy and warm when first entering. The wall heater/fan did nothing to cool the room. There's was no shampoo/conditioner in bathroom and only 4 tissues in tissue box. The room itself was clean. I liked that check out was at noon. There's a Mexican restaurant in same parking lot and sandwhich spot nearby. Starbucks and Chevron blocks away. Free bagel breakfast with Yoplait yogurt, coffee, juices. After a long drive I booked a hotel room. Whenever I stay in a hotel, before putting my belongings in the room, I always wipe everything down with a Clorox wipe and spray with Lysol the bed and pillows. As my daughter was spraying the bed, she saw a worm on the pillow. We grabbed our belongings and walked out. I explained the situation to the receptionist and told him, I wanted my money back. He told me he had to email his manager. I called the 800 number and the agent told me she couldn't do anything about it and to wait outside for a reply from the manager. There was no way that I was going to expose my daughter by waiting outside in a creepy location. A few days later, I called the manager and she told me that the only thing they could have offered me was a different room but not a refund. Where there's one worm, there have to be many more. For that reason there was no way I could stay in that hotel. The manager explained that sometimes animals crawl inside the hotel. That being the case, my question to the manager is: did the worm make its way to the second floor by the stairs or the elevator ? read more

We have been here a week already and absolutely love Spark by Hilton Modesto! Every single staff member we've met is incredibly professional and HAPPY all the time! My family and I are facing a very rough situation and everyone we've met is compassionate, kind, and provides uplifting comments. Areana (the Manager), Marisol, Veronica (Giggles), Cameo, Aaliyah, and so many more - I've met so many genuinely kind people here including the housekeeping staff like Dee (I can't remember names of the others) and the maintenance manager (Paul). I wish I could remember everyone's names and haven't made misspellings; the crew members are better trained and literally run all day long. They work hard but make it look easy and always with a smile on their faces. It appears that everyone is cross-trained and are able to wear many different hats. The rooms are so clean and smell nice, everyone who works here puts customer service first and their complimentary breakfast is great - it has all the basics and then some. If I could rate Spark by Hilton with 10+ stars, I'd do it. I highly recommend it! It's like staying with friends! These folks are the cream of the crop! read more

Was a good place to stay. Loved the online check-in and the key on your phone. It made getting there super easy. Room was nice and clean.

Opened the room looked clean, but I always inspect my room. Under mattress. Against wall at the head of the bed. Found a folded piece of foil between bed and wall. I am in the room for about 30 mins and I see a knotted clump of hair. I collect the clump take it down stairs and told they have to get approval from a manager Andrea to get my refund. I was told Andrea would be working 10/18/2025 during the morning and to call. 10/18/2005, 0902 hours I called was told she's on a conference call and she would call me back. I wait over an hour I call back and I am told she's off until Monday. So is she there or is she off???? I explained to the newest representative Esther about my concerns. She tell me the rooms are not deep cleaned. Basically a make it look clean and go situation. Consider going elsewhere this may be a Hilton hotel tag, but if you don't mind questionable cleaning habits then this is the place for you. read more

Horrible experience! We arrived and they gave us a room where the tv didn't work. Then they had us come back down with all our things to switch rooms. Then at check out they were refusing to give us our deposit back for "smoking" in the room . We never once smoked in that room. We stayed at this hotel for a wedding. The front desk tried saying there was ash on a towel when I knew it was my make up. I mentioned for her to bring me the towel so I can see for myself this "ash" . After a long wait she said I was right and it wasn't ash. This was so infuriating. I felt racially profiled because it happens to be me (a Hispanic women) and my(black) partner accused of smoking in the room. I was genuinely disgusted by their behavior. I've stayed at multiple hotels ones over than this one and I have never been treated this terribly and accused of this. NEVER WILL I EVER STAY at a Hilton hotel again. read more

Terrible hotel. Manager Andrea charged me $137 for make up on a pillow and on towels from washing my face. Towels are white and given to guest to cleanse. Guest should not be penalized for facial towels provided. I do not recommend this place. Had to call guest services to get the charge removed. Thank you to that team! However I still do not recommend this location this. As they are not helpful and place you on hold for extended periods of time then act like they don't remember that we're speaking with you. I think recently remodeled. Very basic hotel part of Hilton chain. First time in the brand. If I just wanted to sleep and go this is probably the purpose. 1) Misleading - and Fraudulent advertising as we were told by the reservationist that this is a Hilton, but it was a Quality Inn with a SPARK sign on a grey building. It is in an INDUSTRIAL area with the Crystal Dairy factory directly across the street. 2) We are both handicapped hence we depend upon Valets to help and a luggage carrier. 3) We were not going to leave the car in the parking lot overnight in an INDUSTRIAL area. 4) We left and went to the Doubletree Hilton The REAL Hilton. We were told that other customers have complained to them but also were told to call Hilton corporate. 5) Hilton corporate left us on hold over ONE Hour and 20 minutes!!. We have emailed and called back since to get a refund. We got an email saying they cannot do this, as cancellation was before 24 hours. 6) Type in 500 Kansas Ave, Modesto and look at the building on Google map and look at the location. read more

I stayed at SPARK for 5 days and 4 nights for a business trip, before i got there i was a bit worried because some of the reviews on yelp and google, however as soon as i walked in to the lobby my perspective changed. The lobby was clean and very well maintained and had a really beautiful odor walking in. The rooms are clean and well maintained, the bathroom is a bit small but not inconvenient. The first day my shower was out of hot water but marissol quickly called maintenance and was able to get me a second room with no hassle. Breakfast is some bagels/ cupcakes and orange juice which is not fancy but also is a good option (especially the chocolate cupcakes). Seriously one of the best experiences I had with staying over for a business trip. Special thanks to Marissol! read more

Don't stay here. It's a beat up Motel 6 under all the fresh paint. Night auditor is rude and probably got the attitude from Management. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. They charge $250 deposit. There is only one ice machine and it's behind the front desk so you have to go down to the front desk and ask for ice every time. There is no microwave no coffee machine. The rooms and bathrooms are tiny. They offer free breakfast but it's not actually a breakfast. Its bagels yogurt and hard boiled eggsThe only good thing about this place is that the rooms look like they are not used. I'm sure that's due to all the things they are lacking. read more

A hidden gem off the 99 freeway. This property had been a rundown hotel. Hilton took a year and transformed it into a very low-key exterior, gorgeous interior hotel. It reopened 3 months ago and the gleaming interior definitely reflected that. Pricing was excellent. There is a Mexican restaurant in front of it & a Sandwich shop in the strip center on the other side of the driveway closest to Spark's entrance. Since I was having same day rotator cuff surgery, I wanted to stay near the hospital but not too close. It's 2.7 miles from the Sutter Memorial Medical Center. With a 7Am surgery check-in, it was a breeze taking Lyft there. I let the manager, Andrea know I was having surgery the next morning when I checked in. She made sure that all of the front desk staff were informed; and I had assistance as needed. I went down for breakfast @ 6 AM yesterday and asked Alondra if she could cut off my hospital I'd and help me get some breakfast. What a pleasant experience! She even rode up the elevator with me; and placed my items on the tv table so I could easily reach them. These extra things make a world of difference when you're unable to do things yourself. I want to mention that Marissol, Korra and Veronica as well. Even housekeeping assisted me with letting the front desk know when I was ready to check out. I was assisted by Andrea at both checking in and out of the hotel. I was unable to carry my backpack after surgery, so she went upstairs and brought it down when I was leaving. Check out this location in Modesto - you'll be glad you did. I'll definitely return. read more
