Honestly l left and had a gut feeling to never come back. The cleaning lady was very helpful and seemed professional. They want you to buy their toothpaste that cost $30. Which I did not end up buying. However, she seemed to know what she was doing. The doctor came in and seemed like she was clueless as to why my daughter had a fill in of another color. She was six when she had a fill in and obviously they were not going to do a permanent fill in on a six year old. RUN! DONT GO HERE! 0 Stars The worst experience we ever had. Not to mention the constant canceling of appointments on there end last minute and not telling us. But today was the last straw the dentists being so unprofessional and lying to our faces. She gave my son (9yrs) Novocain shot and immediately started to drill w/o waiting to get numb. My son you can tell in pain with tears she continued to drill. I had to say something for her to stop and give another shot. Avoid this place at all costs. We came here 3x times and i shouldve listen to my gut the from the 1st visit. 1st time we came they said my son moved so his xrays were not good but did not offer to redo them. They dentist did a 5 minute cleaning and said he has 4 cavities but couldn't tell cuz his xrays were bad. Again so why not retake them. The 2nd time my husband took him and they asked him if they did any xrays...isn't there a chart for each patient. Then they told my husband oh he is moving to much we cant do the fillings, my husband said the appointment lasted 5 minutes. They told him to come back so another dentist could do it. I came back today, 2/12, took a day off work to do so, and the assistant comes in and goes oh was moving last time again this is a PEDIATRIC DENTIST....WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM A 5 YEAR OLD. ABSOLUTELY NO PATIENCE. So the "dentist" comes in and goes oh his xrays are not clear because he was moved..again why dont you take them over then. So I ask her what are my options for the filling. She goes the gas we use is too light to be effective and we dont have the jacket to hold him down. So im like ok so what can we do.....she legit says I cant do anything because he moved....lol. Pathetic. So I asked her what was they reason they told us to come back. She goes the other doctor said you should see me....Im like so you could tell us you cant do anything, couldnt this be done over the phone or during the last visit. We lost our health insurance due to the pandemic and had to apply for state medicad for my son. They were great at making the appointment but when it came down to the appointment... i am a single mother and unfortunately my mother took a turn for the worse the day of my appointment. She was dying and i had to be at the hospital but because it was his first appointment i couldn't send him with anyone else. Ive signed consent letters to have him visit urgent care and other doctors With someone else for the first time. Anyone looking for a pediatric dentist NEVER ever go to Sparkle Kids Dentistry. My daughter who has anxiety went in for an extraction and left hysterically crying. The doctor had no bedside manner and would not even take the time to explain the procedure and calm her down. She told me she had special behaviors and that I was traumatizing my child. All of this was said loud enough for my child and the whole office to hear. After speaking with the head doctor who apologized she told this doctor would call and apologize. When she called she did the exact opposite and continued to validate her behavior. Never ever use them!!! read more

A few weeks ago my daughter had an appointment here. She needs to get some work done and they gave us an appointment for July. They called me maybe a day or two later to tell me someone canceled they can fit us on 6/15 they would call us the day before with the details. That day was yesterday I waited the whole day and no call. I called to follow up and was told "we canceled" our appointment. I explained that's not possible and explained the whole thing. I explained my daughter is special needs and we've been waiting to get this resolved. Jaylene (at least that's the name she gave me) then YELLED at me when I asked to speak to a supervisor. I told here there was no need to speak to me like that she calmed down and then asked to put me on hold. 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 MINUTES on hold. I hung up called back no answer. Waited a few minutes called back and she HUNG up on me. The lack of professionalism and knowing the call is for a disabled child and this is how you handle it? I am definitely going to file a report on this office it's a shame that they can go to work and have no care that they can do this to CHILDREN. I will never in my life recommend this office to anyone and I hope "Jaylene" is never in the situation she put my daughter in. Please stay away from this sham of an office. SCAM! They attempted to get me to pay nearly $1000 out of pocket to book the doctor at the hospital to perform an extraction, the hospital is literally next door, I had to do their job in calling back and forth with them and the insurance company. Finally they send the billing codes to insurance, after they insisted it wasn't covered by insurance, one of the codes was an "unspecified" code for $700. How can you expect to be paid on something when I don't even know what I'm paying. They want nothing but extra money. They said I can pay and then submit it to insurance, what do they think I have insurance for? Finally got a second opinion, no "booking fee" and nearly 1/3 the price for the procedure. My insurance explained to me and them the procedure should only cost $350 and they still persisted to try and get me to pay the additional $1000 just to book this doctor. Expect to have to do their job for them and pay extra money that you don't even know what you're paying if you choose this place. read more

Visited Doctor Arora for a consultation to get my wisdom teeth extracted & had a HORRIBLE experience. Amongst other things that he mentioned that made me nervous, he said that I should go with general anesthesia although my dentist suggested I shouldn't, as it is not necessary and not covered by my insurance, but he still persisted. Afterward, his secretary comes in and goes over the pricing with my insurance. With all the medicine, injections, and extra half hour of general anesthesia and all 4 teeth extracted....it is a total of $685!...& I have pretty good insurance! So with my uncomfortable consultation and worries about how am I going to get all this money within a week, my dentist suggests that I look at oral surgeons in NYC as NJ does not have many oral surgery centers. I quickly found another oral surgeon also covered by my insurance. Not only did this doctor tell me this will be an EASY extraction since my teeth aren't fully developed and so the roots aren't too deep, but that it will take 25 mins top with LOCAL anesthesia, general would be unnecessary. And you want to know the best part: the total cost would be $100 ($50 each tooth after the 1st 2). Hmm...where is this $585 difference coming from??? From my experience from past corrupt doctors, they like to charge for items that are already covered by insurance to get double income. And they can claim they did it based off my plan, but how did another doctor use the SAME insurance and get a different price? (See the review I gave the doctor I used on my page, I highly recommend him!). All in all, I would not recommend this office, as they only care about the money and are willing to lie about insurance coverage to do so. read more

Everyone was very nice and professional. I had all of my wisdom teeth taken out about a week ago and everyone from the doctor to the receptionist walked me through the entire process regarding how to prepare before, after, and so on. Horrible, do not take your kids here. Dr. Preeti Gupta recommended extraction of 4 upper incisors for my 3 year old under generall anasthesia. Turns out they were doing it because they get paid per tooth and anasthesia gets them some more from insurance. We got a 2nd opinion from another dentist who extracted 2 and fixed the other 2 teeth all under nitrous oxide instead of anasthesia. The 2nd doctor was shaking his head when we told him how Preeti Gupta was going to put our toddler under anasthesia. He said he would never do that for a 3yr old unless it was an extremely complicated surgery. Do not trust these people, their sole purpose is to milk the insurance company as much as they can at the expense of your dental health. read more

I've been meaning to change this dentist for a while but I'm very busy. But I am officially getting new dentist starting with next routine visit. The dentist is constantly rescheduling your appointments.I have to wait a month or more for next available appointment and days before that appointment they will call you and ask to reschedule and they book you for the following month! The dentist also got specific times so although it shows they are open till 6 for example and I'm rescheduling because the dentist is the one canceling or not in I Still can't get what I want...I'll ask for 4pm month ahead and they will say she's leaving at 3. Smh The worst part about this practice is some of the employees. Not very professional at all. Sometimes I come and sign in and they don't even acknowledge you in any way. Some are nice tho but they need to work on the front desk people and the Lady with the heavy Spanish accent who seems to be a dentist assistant.She did my daughters X-rays and not kid friendly at all. She looks miserable too. I've had others who done her X-rays who were kid friendly and nice. The guy who preps heir teeth before dentist comes is also friendly. They are usually good at reminders or calling to reschedule the appointments as always but for this month appointment I didn't get a call. So I called Day before to confirm, no answer. So I called Day of appointment and told the lady I am checking to see if I do have appointment since I didn't get a call. She puts me on hold and returns with an attitude claiming we did call you twice...which is a lie but the way she approached was as if calling me a liar. I am very good with answering my calls and if I don't they will always leave a voicemail like they should. I then told her well how come there's no voice message. She said well I don't know what to tell you but we called, maybe it's full. I know my voicemail isn't full so that's a lie. But my point is that's not how to approach customers/patients. The professional thing to do was to say I'm sorry if you didn't get a call or voicemail even though I do see we called but not sure what happened about that but I do apologize. Not sure what her name is but it's the lady with the heavy accent(Spanish) Another bad thing about this place is how small the waiting room is. After communication with this office over 2 months, the hour before my appointment they waited to call to tell me that I would be charged a $200 copay for my consultation (Ive never had a copay more than $5). WHAT??! Not only did they tell me that my specific insurance was IN NETWORK multiple times, but they also informed me of a copay that I would have to pay instead of telling me that I was out of network. Scam! First, my appointment was rescheduled as other people expressed from a Friday at 530 to "Can you come in before 4? The doctor needs to leave early" okay took a sick day from work and rescheduled for first appointment on a Wednesday morning, 9 am. Being a new patient I came about 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Building is open, find the suite. Door is locked, lights off. I wait in the hallway until 9 am when the clerk comes in from outside and lets me into the waiting room as I wait for her to power on the computers and such with another patient who was also waiting in the smallest waiting room I've ever seen at a medical office (I work in healthcare). I came here as my insurance said they were an in-network provider. After seeing the doctor I saw the (very rude) office manager who discussed my "out of pocket" expense for two wisdom teeth extraction would be $350. Considering my insurance covers 100% of in network charges up to $3000, I wanted to know what the out of pocket charges were for, she told me everyone was covered 100% except for two codes which were not covered and they were for the sedation to go to sleep. So I asked what if I stayed awake with the local? And she said it would be the same out of pocket expense. So I'm thinking to myself I doubt my insurance company expects me to have wisdom teeth extracted without any type of sedation. So I made my appointment and called my insurance company. I gave the (extremely helpful/friendly) woman the two codes the office manager said were not covered and the insurance company told me they didn't even know what those codes were for so asked me to hold and came back saying that if they have to do with the sedation tell the office we cover this and this and if they are able to bill for either of those. Call the office at 1230, "the office manager is at lunch until 1 call back after 1." Call the office at 135, "the office manager is at lunch call back in half an hour." Finally get into touch with the office manager after 3 pm and she tells me the codes are for the "'application' of the sedation" and the "doctor does not do the surgery without billing for those two codes." Okay, I want to cancel my appointment. Okay cancelled she says, but then I call back the office asking for confirmation my appointment was cancelled because I didn't want any bill for a missed appointment. The clerk tells me she needs to ask the office manager for permission to do that but she's on the phone with another patient. So I leave my number and email, never got a response. I sent them an electronic "contact us" through their website and received no response. Called again, no response. I went to another oral surgeon, for two wisdom teeth removal: ZERO out of pocket expense with my insurance. Isn't that interesting? Big difference from $350. STEER CLEAR from this place. Horrible professionalism and certainly out for extra money. Even if it's the closest place to you, you are most certainly better off going elsewhere. read more

Cheating Dentistry Practice.... Don't go there... We were refereed to Dr. Preeti Gupta long time ago. We have been visiting since last 3 years with kids. First year, Dr. Gupta was there. Then last year, when we visited there was another Dr. instead of Dr. Gupta. We asked, but got checked up, because we don't wanted to returned. This year, we visited in June. This was extreme unprofessional practice. We got appointment with Dr. Gupta name, however when we reached, there was only junior residents or nurses. No senior doctors. One of them wanted to do X-ray. I asked, whats reason for x-ray each year. The nurse stopped. But after sitting for sometime on seat, another nurse suddenly came and started doing x-ray without asking the parents standing there. After much persuasion, second nurse agreed to send doctor. After 30mins of seating some new doctor came (instead of Dr. Gupta). Today, I saw the bill from them. This practice have charged bill in random categories. Nutrition Counseling - USD 104 Oral Hygiene Instruction - USD 82 Risk Assessment - USD 54 Behavior Management - USD 32 Prophylaxis (action taken to prevent disease) - USD 126 These all above categories makes non-sense from teeth doctor, because there is already another category (Comprehensive oral evaluation - USD 198). We have insurance, and have rejected those non-sense category. Doctor office have sent bill to us. After seeing the holistic experience, I couldn't stop myself from writing a good feedback. read more

Stay away! 1. They try to scam you by claiming your kids have cavities in every tooth and that they need baby root canals! I'm so glad I had some sense and went for a second opinion at another dental practice....and of course my kids teeth were perfect and didn't need any work AT ALL. I am still in shock. By going elsewhere and getting a second opinion, I saved my kids teeth, prevented lots of tears, pain, and time and over $6000 of bills they wanted to charge me for fillings and root canals and sealants. I should have listened to the reviews! It took me months to find a dentist that took my plan because I wanted a pediatric dentist for my kids. I read the reviews and was a little iffy about the place but a friend of mine was friends with the dentist so I gave it a chance. Building is nice but yes, I see what people mean when they said disgusting. There were wrappers of instruments on the floor, papers, etc. Typical signs of a place that is too busy or too much of a factory to care about that stuff. My son needed a second appointment to get some cavities. My husband cancelled some meetings and made arrangements to leave work early, babysitter for my older daughter when she gets out of school, etc. After all that is done, two days before the appointment, they need to reschedule. Fine, stuff happens. We are scheduled the next week, same arrangements with leaving work early and a babysitter for my daughter. He has a 2:15 appt. and they call me at 1pm THE DAY OF the appt saying that if he cannot come now, don't bother coming in because the doctor will not be in at the appt time because she wants to leave early. I said the earliest my husband can come in with my son is by 2pm and to please wait because we have already made arrangements AGAIN with work and a babysitter. I pleaded with them-- I mean really, it's not like my appt was hours later, we were less than an hour at this point but they wouldn't wait. I told them do not reschedule my appt, this is a cancellation and I won't be going back there. In summary, don't bother. The constant rescheduling seems to be a pattern based on the reviews and from personal experience. I know we work around the doctors, but a little more consideration that we work and have to make arrangements too to accommodate their schedules. read more

I came to get my wisdom teeth removed and was very nervous about the surgery. Another place I went to wanted me to get two separate surgeries, but Dr. Arora said we could do it in one. That meant it would cost less, be easier, and I wouldn't have to deal with as much pain. Before the surgery he explained everything that was going to happen so I was able to calm down. I woke up later and felt no pain at al, all the assistants and Dr. Arora were so kind and patient with all my questions. Most people still feel pain days after surgery, but I felt none. DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD HERE!!!! BEWARE, they destroyed my daughter's teeth to the point that she can never go back. She had ridges at the bottom of her two front teeth, we asked about that. The dentist suggested to file them down. I said ok sounds fine. They told me, after the procedure was completed, that her teeth may chip and are going to be very sensitive to the point that she needs to be careful bc chipping is common. 1 week later a chip happens, 2 weeks later almost a quarter of the bottom of her front tooth is chipped off. I was never told that during the procedure, they would file down her 2 front teeth so much that she would never be able to walk around again like that unless some type of cosmetic procedure is done like veneers. My 12 yr old daughter now has fillings on both her 2 front teeth that constantly chip off and she will never be able to look the same again unless I pay for veneers and that cannot even be done for another few years. The dentist continued to say that she explained this. She did not explain that she would be shaving my daughters teeth to the point she will never have her 2 front teeth again. And my question is, why in the world would you suggest a procedure like this to begin with to anyone and especially a child. Please do not bring your child here. I have no idea what to do now, my poor daughter will for the rest of her life not have her 2 front teeth anymore bc they shaved them down and the fillings will chip if she bites into an apple, if she bites anything. I've been to other dentists that have ended up charging me surprise fees, etc. but they explained everything and were straightforward with pricing before doing any work which I appreciated. The practice has changed. Dr Gupta has always been great but our last visit was a new dentist-male. No bedside manner with the kids and not so gentle. Also I was told at our last that the "laughing gas" payment that was usually 65.00 had increased to 125.00 which is just downright unreasonable. Furthermore I was also informed that my four year old needed extensive work that he (Dr) wanted to do as general anesthesia which would be around 800 dollars out of pocket! Needless to say I was not pleased and attempted to get my kids records to change dentists. They then tried to hold their xrays hostage and told me I needed to pay 50.00 per child to get the records!! (100.00 total) After much arguing they sent me an envelope with bad copies of some films and charged me 25.00. At my new pediatric dentist the xrays provided were so useless thay had to be retaken at my expense! My 4 year old was evaluated by the new pediatric dentist and said there is no way the work my young son needed would justify general anesthesia. They were standard surface cavities and she did alot of the work in his first visit! When calling around for a new dentist ALL the practices charge 50.00 for the laughing gas-no where near 125.00!! I initially liked this practice but somewhere they made a wrong turn-that is unfortunate because Dr. Gupta did an excellent job-but the office poilicies and charges have become unreasonable. I was referred to Sparkle by my kids general dentist. Obviously they haven't seen or been in the office for a while. First impression, lovely building, then you go inside and it's discusting. I have never been in such a filthy dental office in my life. I told my kids to not touch anything and made sure to use their hand sanitizer constantly while we were in there. We were a few minutes early for our appointment but were kept waiting for 30 minutes or so. Seemed more like a dental factory than an office, people everywhere crammed into these rooms, Dr.'s in and out of rooms quickly. We get called in and the rooms are so incredibly tiny two people can't fit inside together. They take xrays and have a Dr. chat with me outside the room at the counter for less than 2 minutes where everyone can listen. Again employees walking around rushing around everywhere. I haven't had to see an oral surgeon for my kids prior to this so naturally I had questions, I was answered very rushed, and the Dr. had a condescending tone when answering my questions. We now move down the counter to schedule a procedure, the ill mannered and classless secretary schedules us. I call back to confirm and ask about an earlier time, very rude office staff, extremely ignorant and cold.
