I come here 1 time a month, 3 times now I have to return cause my 'no chip' polish peels right off a nail or 2 or it chips on the tips. Came here Tuesday, had to return today for the same issue and the owner or mgr. tells me 10 minutes, 30 minutes go by, now he says another 30-40 minutes, WTH BAD enough I have to return but his attitude, I'm done with this place! After spending 100+ dollars for a basic pedicure and a manicure with natural no chip paint job. I'm so disappointed. I asked for a full set of acrylics. I didn't notice until it was too late to mention. + I didn't have time to have it redone. A guy did the pedicure and told the woman what I wanted in his language. If I knew what he said I could have corrected them. I assumed she knew, so I let her go about it. The pedicure paint job was bad. I got the no chip and it looked like a kid painted my toes. I usually can get right in , which is always a plus. They are nice enough , they could work on being friendlier but also so do most humans these days! I know what it's like working on people (but as a hair stylist) and you really need to make them feel like you NEED their business, because in all reality , YOU DO! I always like and am satisfied with my nail outcome, I get a fill and a no chip, never have any issues and I have my hands in color and chemicals and water prob 50/60 hrs a week! But it would be nice if they had one or a few workers that did specialty designs etc., that really is the only thing I would complain about . If I ask for anything "special" or extra they can't do it or don't have large silver flake glitter etc., just things as such ... But all in all, easy to get in, nice enough, and never have any chip issues! read more

This may have been one of the best manicures/gel polish I have ever had. They were very focused on me getting exactly what I liked and wanted. They were very kind. The pedicure was great as well. I am just visiting but I want to find a nail salon like this back home!! read more

I am so sad to say that I will NEVER give Sparkle Nail Salon in Portage my business, my money, or my time EVER again. I have been going there to get my nails done for MONTHS. I was a regular there, but after the way they treated us last night, I'm done.That was $110.00 down the drain. We could have chosen ANYWHERE in the area, but I told my mom and sister how great Sparkle was. They proved me 100% wrong. Getting your nails done is a luxury and it's expensive. For the amount of money I pay them, I expect them to have a little professionalism and some customer service skills. Guess that's too much to ask for. I really wanted to treat my mom and sister to a girls night. They do so much for me by keeping my son while I work. So I called and made an appointment yesterday at 2:00 pm for 6:00pm THAT evening. 4 HOURS in advance. I made it for 3 pedicures and 1 full set. The woman on the phone wrote down my name and said that was fine and she would see me later. We got there and it was a MISERABLE experience start to finish. EVERY single employee was rude to us from the get go. They closed for the night at 7:00pm and you could tell that they all just wanted to hurry up and get us out (although they kept taking walk ins of course). They completely rushed through my mom's pedicure and did a half ass job. She was totally finished and just sitting there waaay before my sister and, and her feet looked like crap. They didn't do much better on my sister's feet either. Apparently Sparkle just wants to charge you $40.00 for painting your toenails, because that's just about all they did. The pedicures were ALL terrible and it was not relaxing in the least. Then to top EVERYTHING off, I got done with my pedicure and went to go get my full set done and they told me NO. They literally said that, "They closed at 7 and they weren't going to honor my APPOINTMENT because they wanted to get home."..........Are you kidding me right now?! Why would you make my appointment for 6pm KNOWING what I needed, and then tell me that you don't have time once I'm there? I have never been so pissed off and so disappointed by a "business" before in my life. Needless to say I will NEVER be back. read more

Love this place!! Not only are the people super friendly but I always leave here feeling refreshed and pampered--all at a reasonable price too. I try to get a monthly pedicure and they always take such good care of me. And when I get my nails done, their gel manicure lasts me, at least, two weeks! read more

I went and paid for 2 pedicures which were good, when it came to paying is where the problem began, i paid 65$ including the tip all together. I later go to my banking app and checked it, come to find out that they double charged me. I go back and they said the second one will not go thru and everything will be ok, so imma being me i called the bank to make sure that is what happened. I was informed by the bank that they did double charge me and that i should go back and get my money that they took from me. I call back and ask to speak with the manager and the employee asked me why, i then repeat the question and they told me he was busy and i should call back later, and then hung up. STAY AWAY FROM VAN! DO NOT LET THEM PAIR YOU WITH VAN! On my cousin's eyebrow referral, I have been going to Sparkle since February of 2017. Mimi, the manager, shaped my eyebrows and she is an artist, truly. After a couple months I then added a pedicure to my monthly eyebrow shaping. The 1st pedicure (w/hot wax foot treatment & toe nail buffing) was great because Mimi did it. Even when Mimi is visibly tired her work doesn't suffer. I don't know why, I would have gladly waited, but the 2nd time I got a pedicure Mimi pawned me off to Van. My first clue that Van was not the nail tech for me should have been that she pretended as if they no longer buff toe nails. The gentlemen working the station next to her corrected Van in 2 languages and Van went about performing the task like......well, like she was willing to lie to avoid it. Then before I could really put together what happened Mimi, instilling this false sense of security, did my brows, almost like a reward for putting up w Van. During the course of the pedicure Van always hurts me, always (wax too hot, clips my toe nails too close for the amount of time she allowed my feet to pre-soak, etc). Van's method was never satisfactory but the 1st 3 or 4 times Van at least gave me a result that was. Last Friday, that week getting everything done at work before vacation, I was extra tired. I asked for my usual. Van (always the only 1 available when it's busy) was her usual self. The wax was, as usual, too hot. Noticing how tired I was, Van didn't even do the buffing she clearly hates so much. I mistakenly fell asleep and she put enough oil on my toe nails that I couldn't tell until the next morning after my shower that they weren't buffed at all. But my real mistake was asking Van to include a manicure w a fingernail buff. There was actually vitriol in her face. I have a carpenter's nail on my right index finger. The cutical bed is thicker than my other fingers. I told her to let my right hand pre-soak longer and to do my left hand 1st. Saying nothing, feigning as if she could not understand or hear me, Van let my right hand soak for seconds and keeping eye contact with me she proceeded to do my right FIRST and then didn't even touch the index finger. I kept talking to her, being ignored through out the manicuring of my left hand all the while Van ignored me. I finally said something to Mimi's sister, working at the same table, she explained it to Van. Van's reaction seemed as if she was annoyed and disgusted by my gaul. Although Van did not soak my right index finger any longer she was careful about trimming its cutacle bed. Already having finished trimming my left, Van took the electrical finger nail buffer and immediately after she suffered the humiliation of doing as I asked, for punishment Van grinded that buffer into the cuticle on my lefthand ring finger. Looking me in my face the entire time, badly pretending that was not her intention.........Mimi did my brows and like a fool I tipped $25 on $49 of service. I was so accustomed to Van's abuse, I was exhausted from work and now I was in shock from being violated by Van. I didn't want to believe what Van had been doing and had just done to me. But the redness & sting of my left hand ring finger helped me see Van clearly, crystal. More than Van being consistently unkind, purposely careless and eventually violent I didn't, still don't, understand why Mimi would let Van touch me in the 1st place. Old as Van is, there's no chance in hell I was the 1st client Van mistreated. Mimi knows who Van is but allows her to touch people anyway. I thought I would return for my brows by Mimi. Thanks to Van and Mimi's decision to allow someone like Van to put their vindictive, hateful hands on a client like me, I will NEVER go back. If Mimi is unavailable tell them ANYBODY BUT VAN. On the outside chance she treats you like me DON'T LET VAN TOUCH YOU! It's not worth the risk. read more

First time trying this salon. My normal place has been very busy and hard to get into so went somewhere new in a pinch. HORRIBLE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! This NO CHIP manicure lasted 2 days before the polish chipped and cracked on multiple fingers. These pictures are 3 days later and you can still see the blood on my cuticle from where the lady ripped off too much skin and didn't even acknowledge. She also decided to add her own tip on when paying. I asked how much a no chip was when I walked in she told me $30 but when paying charged me $35. Very disappointed not sure how they are still in business because I would never go back. Could have painted my nails myself with $3 polish from Walgreens and it'd last longer. read more

This place is awful. My daughter and I walk into the salon at 530 an hour and a half before closing. They asked what we were getting I said both mani and pedis and one girl looks at me and says you know we are closing right? I walked right out. If they don't my money that is completely fine with me. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I went in and got a full set done not even a week ago. 4 of my nails were chipped and the gel was so far away from my cuticle it looked like I had had them on a month. When I spoke with the lady on the phone she told me if I came in by the end of the week the would fix them for me. I went in the next day and they told me my nails were perfect and they refused to fix them or give me my money back. When you pay for something so pricey you expect it to be done right. To top it off one of the gentlemen was sitting on the chairs laughing at me. read more
