Honestly awful lol. They messed my skin up so bad. I have a lot of sores now from being cut up so bad. The polish looks terrible and bubbly. They degraded my sister the whole time thinking it was funny. Please don't go there. The powder was also disgusting that they used. I won't be surprised if someone gets infected soon. read more

We went in here for acrylic nails for my grand daughter. We got the acrylics, ect. My granddaughter accidentally broke a nail and felt bad so I took her back here. They were extremely rude about it and had said that it shouldn't have been that long. If they were too long, and they knew they would break, they shouldn't have done them in the first place. Not sure why such negative reviews. I think people are mislabeling cultural differences in behavior as "rudeness." I understand these differences as I have been a patron for years. Don, the owner, does not "hit" as he merely taps the top of your hand to let you know you are tensing up because that affects your final outcome. I have seen multiple rude customers treat them rudely when the customer ruins a wet nail as it it were the technicians fault. All of the employees have different personalities just like any other place, but once you get to know them you understand there are cultural differences in the way they communicate so please be conscious of this and treat them with respect. They do a wonderful job and really care about whether customers are happy. Don't be a Karen and be nice to them and they will be nice to you. Once you get to know them, you will appreciate their humor and their work. Don and Tina and their staff members are some of the hardest working people. I don't know why give this place a chance but I will never do it again. I went in to get my eyebrows done the first time everything the OK. She did them a little skinny but I was fine with it. The second time I went in to get my eyebrows done. The woman proceeded to get the eyebrow wax all in of my hair that was on my head and she wasn't even going to tell me that that's what she did if I did make her show me how much wax she got in my head in the 1st place. Then this last and final time I went in to get my brows done I signed it I was not greater even acknowledged. After the woman started on someone else's nail she decided to asked me why I was there after I sat there for ten minutes. I mentioned it was just eyebrows she told me that because she just started on someone else's which she had not actually even started yet that I would have to wait an entire 60 minutes. I have been going there for several months and always liked how my nails looked, but I did not like two of the people who did my nails as they were very rude. The man who did them kept telling me to relax my hands or my nails would not look good and I would blame him! I was relaxed! He was rude. Also a female who did my nails there told me to relax and don't watch her do my nails, watch the tv, and she kept pushing my fingers down. She was very rude. I told her I didn't know what she expected me to do, that I was relaxed and she started talking loudly in another language to the other girls and I think she was talking about me because I could only make out the word "American". October 18.2019 , I went to Kim's Nails on Calumet Ave, Valparaiso Indiana. This lady nail technician was very rude to me. She began to comment in about my Nails. She rolled her eyes at me. I asked her was there a problem. She then began to speak to the Male technician in thier native tongue. I was then treated very disrespectful. This made me feel uncomfortable. I'm a woman of color. Christine is number one she is the best I've been here for 5 years and I always choose her. She does everything good.

I have been going to Kim's Nails for 15+ years. They are the ONLY nail salon I will go to, A couple times over the years I have gone to different nail salons out of convenience at the time. Never again. Each time when I returned to Kim's they fixed the fungus and acrylic breaks of the other salons. I have been to every nail technician at Kim's and can attest that each one is very good. They have all been there for years; no turnover. You can specify a certain technician when you sign in or call in for your appt. I usually walk-in and get the next available tech. I have found them to be very eager to please. I have never had a pedi at Kim's; I believe they have 5 or so pedi chairs. My normal service is an acrylic fill-in with regular or no-chip polish. They do take credit /debit cards (except for Sunday's I believe due to the bank card processing system they use which is down on Sundays?), but tips cannot be put on the card so I always make sure I am prepared. I usually just hit the atm on the way to Kim's and pay cash for the service and the tip. Amazingly, the prices have never increased in 15 years. The staff is friendly; sometimes silly/funny. Seems like most people who go there are regulars or repeat customers, I am always greeted by name and notice many others greeted by first name too; the customer's are friendly also. Kim's is the only nail salon I trust. read more

I was a little skeptical of "Kim's" nail salon. But I have gotten about 10 manicures and six pedicures and have been very satisfied. Everyone, including the customers are very friendly. I had never been to this nail salon before; this was my first time. My niece and I walked in and signed in. We selected our polish and were waiting when all of a sudden one of the workers started yelling at a customer getting a pedicure. It was very loud and the customer kept saying that she didn't understand and started crying. The whole place got quiet. My niece and I left and will never return again. We went to another salon, Sassy Nails in Portage, IN and they were awesome. A entirely different atmosphere. Not sure why she thought it was ok to yell at anyone, let alone a customer, but that is not a place I want to do business with. Shame on her for her behavior. read more

This place is a gem! I walked in this afternoon to see if I could get a manicure and pedicure. I was immediately greeted by everyone when I walked in and told absolutely, pick out a color and we will be right with you. I didn't have to wait even ten minutes before I was brought back to a chair to get my pedicure started. The team of people working there were terrific. They were all talking to everyone and laughing. Wonderful atmosphere!! I had a deluxe pedicure and a manicure and it was a total of $53 - great deal!! Leena was the manicurist that helped me and she could not have been nicer. I usually go to Kim nails, but it seems like lately the more I go in there ,the more I started to hate it . On my last visit I was not pleased AT ALL! I walked in signed the sign in sheet ,picked my color and literally waited almost 10 mins to get seated, when there was no wait or anyone in front of me . Keep in mind as, I waited 10 mins to get seated. I sat and watched many workers on their phones with head phones in there ears ect.(blue shirt girl picking her nose). Just so happen the person who sat me to complete my nails was the same person sitting right in front of me on their iPad as I waited that whole time . Once I'm finally getting my nails worked on you could tell by her body language and the fact she didn't say one word to me she didn't want to do my nails .. in the process of my nails getting done she kept tapping my hand ,picking my hand up and dropping it many times , to the point I asked her what it meant ... her response was You need to relax you fingers .... mind you my hand is relaxed ,if it wasn't my hand would not of kept slamming back down. Continuing on she kept squeezing my fingers hard to where her own fingernail indention was craved in my skin. Then tells me that's cause I need to relax.... I had the response ,if you weren't squeezing my fingers so hard I would be relaxed and she just nodded her head . Love Kim's nail salon. They do very nice pedicures, and they have very nice massage chairs to enjoy during your pedicure.

Go here only if you are desperate. Ninety percent of the work done on your nails is done with a Dremmel tool sander. They literally sand your cuticle off and when it starts to bleed, they accuse you of being tender. All of their polish has been thinned down to make them go further. Watch out for the razor blading of your heels and callouses. They rarely know when enough is enough. Most times they are not even looking at your nails when they're working on them. And the incessant chatter in Vietnamese among the workers will drive you crazy. They are cheap and you can get in without an appointment but you get what you pay for. read more
