One day getting a pedicure the tech hurt me a few times. johnnie was right there saw me shaking my head and hear me tell the tech to stop. I stated I dont pay money to get hurt. This place charges 10% for use of credit cards on an already overpriced regular manicure at $20. Just wildly inappropriate. They don't let you pick the actual polish color, even for a regular manicure they have you select from a book. I chose 3 to try on and asked my nail tech to help me in doing so- which he did- but then he refused to take off the polish and instead insisted on painting over the colors he let me sample. The nail tech also made a joke about me having short nails which was obnoxious. Avoid. read more

Then he promised that with my skills, I would definitely receive a good income and benefits. Because I have to drive more than 900 miles, I re-confirm the income and benefits. He said that he would not joke with his business's reputation and honor. We agreed that I would drive over to work for him on Thursday. On early Thursday morning, I texted him to confirm again. Then I got in the car and left. But late at night, when I was almost there, he called back and said he would not accept me. I asked him why he didn't tell me earlier. He laughed and said he thought it was just a joke so he didn't care much, and he was so busy. Ok, I was unlucky. I asked him to pay for my gas so I could go back. Walked in right when they opened without an appointment. I did not have to wait at all. I got a pedicure and full set and it took 1 hour exact, which was great since I was visiting family and did not want to be there for hours. The quality looks good but we will see how long they last! I gave 5 stars because I have always liked my nails after getting them done at Sassy. The employees are friendly and it's a great atmosphere. I only have one concern,,,, I usually get the same thing done each time I go, but the price is never the same. One time it's $50, the next is $65. That's a big price difference. read more

I had high hopes but alas i felt like I was part of the infamous nail salon skit. There are actual gaps between my real nail and the acrylic tip so I have to constantly clean it out with a toothpick or nail brush. When asked, the tech said if he put them on my actual nail tip my fingers would go down. I've worked all weekend with these nails and cannot get into thw shop to have them fixed until Tuesday possibly. I work during their operating hours. I even have crooked un evenly rou dedicated nails to thw point where I am just playing the " no your finger do like this, nail straight" clip from the skit in my head. This was my first time here and I do not think I will be returning, other than to get my nails fixed if possible. Constantly having to deep clean I'm between the acrylic tip and my real nail is definitely not a good combo as a nurse. read more

This was the second time, first fill. they reshaped and cut down the nails and it was wonderful! but I'm not here to brag about the nails.... it's the eye brows for me!!! TERRIBLE. The manager ended up doing my nails for some reason and he was so distracted with addressing employee issues, other customers, the phone, etc... he got up and walked away about 10 times. He would come back and forget which nail he was working on. Nothing was filed when it was done, there was no hand massage, he left dip on my skin and cuticles. I've revisited this establishment for years. All of which I was rushed and treated as if I was a bother. Once they remodeled the whole salon atmosphere changed. Truth be told they care more about money and how many people they can get through rather than quality and customer service. My nails were uneven and thick. When I went back to fix them they tried to charge me when I had not even left the salon yet. My service animal was denied entry into SassySpa Nail at 6638 US Highway 6, Portage, IN 46368. The male owner or manager refused to allow my fully trained animal inside and asked that he be locked alone in a closet area. My dog has been trained since he was six months old and had been all over the country including airplanes and trains. In the end I was forced to sit outside with my animal while my friends got their nails done. The owner/manager claimed that if he allowed one service dog in more people would try to enter with service animals. I informed him that what he was doing is illegal and then left. read more

Would not recommend coming here unless your looking for a crappy manicure. I went there to get my nails done for the first time for my 13th birthday. I went in and they sat me done very quickly. The lady then asked what i wanted so i showed her a picture, she then proceeded to snatch my phone out of my hands and look at the photo. She started on my nails and was very aggressive with filing them, she even cut my finger. She then grabbed the extensions and didn't even ask if i wanted a type of shape. Then when i went to tell her I wanted a coffin shape, she put both of her hands up and moved them up and down as if she was trying to 'calm me down'. A young girl about 18, sat next to me and she was getting her nails beautifully done, the two ladies that were doing our nails were talking about how sexy and gorgeous her body was, and I thought that was widely inappropriate, then they asked 'do you even eat at all' like implying she was anorexic even though she was just really skinny. As she was doing my nail art she didnt even paint the whole line down my nail so it looked unfinished. When she was putting my hand under the UV light she kept VERY aggressively pushing my hand down even though it was all the way into it, when i was finally finished i walked up with my grandma to pay, $125 plus tip, for the most crappy nails ever, but when the manager went to calculate how much the nails would be he GRABBED my hand and made me drop my brand new phone, keep in mind he didnt even ask me to look at them he grabbed my hand like he was going to take me or something. anyways i absolutely would not recommend this place sucks. and my nail fell off a little after a week they got done, over all the worst nail place i've ever been to. read more

I pay good money and I tip well. Of course I have seen and heard all of the negative reviews, but I am a "show me" type of person. Boy did they show me on Friday, June 23, 2023. Taken from my personal page..... You see, I was the last of my friend group to support them for various reasons. Friday an African American lady did not like the service she was receiving. She was very loud and belligerent when she left. On her way out of the door she said "She had an attitude the whole time. Y'all need to send her back wherever she came from." NOT OK. I was almost done getting my nails done and wanted nothing more than to leave as I was with my 13 year old niece. Then another lady starts to talk to the owner about the situation. "The owner says if a white guy would've said that to her, THEY would've been claiming racist." The lady says "And THEY say a lot worse to each other. But it's ok for THEM." So I asked her who "THEY" was? She said "everybody." No...Stand on what you just said. Don't backtrack now. See people are not used to being questioned. Let's be clear about who you were talking about. So the owner tells me that I can't just start taking to people. Have you lost your mind??? I'm almost 50 years old and can talk to whomever I want to. So as I'm leaving he asks me why I was offended by what she said. After I explain, he has the audacity to tell me well he didn't defend me because I didn't defend them. I told him I'm almost 50 years old and definitely don't need defending by him or anyone else. That's what my own mouth is for. So I'm going to handle this by hitting them in the pocket. My wife and I went into just get manicures, why wife picks her color and I just get mine buffed. While this place is nice and they have a bar, I had a horrible tech. She seems like she didn't care. After she was done I told her I wanted mine buffed. She had attitude and half assed my buff. When I went to pay for us it should have been $24 dollars instead my tech charged $29 I asked why she said for my buff extra $5.....first off she never told me it would be an additional charge and second if my whole got paint at no extra charge why would they charge me extra for buff. Completely unorganized business. I'm not sure they understand what customer service means. I do not have 2 plus hours to be in a nail salon due to the owners lack of responsibility when I make an appointment. They don't even greet you when you walk in, & make you wait over an hour with no explanation. After waiting an hour, he told Wendy to do my nails. She got really annoyed & rolled her eyes. I then said I'll wait for anyone else because I didn't appreciate her doing that. So after waiting another 30 minutes, and then taking other people before me, I left. They don't know how to treat people & they don't care. I don't even want to give them one star because they don't even deserve that.
