This place is a disaster. We aren't even going to start with the environment around them. It's nasty and unsafe. I understand the strip mall area isn't probably owned by this business, but they can do better. The attendants act like your bothering them if you ask for any kind of assistance or even to open the bathroom. I get that they deal with a lot of unsavory characters, but that's not my problem. That's the business owners problem to make them feel safe and supported. The machines seem like they have not been serviced in years. They're always breaking down or not working or it take $5 to dry a single load of clothes. I've wasted so much product on these machines it's not even funny. Today took the cake though. For the 3rd time in a month the machines failed. Their large machine did not spin the clothes and they were soaking wet. I had to show the attendant that water was dripping out of the clothes. I am soaked in water from having to remove them to put them in another machine. Did the attendant offer a shirt or anything? Absolutely not, are there shirts on the wall for sale. Yup, there sure is. Not my usual hour and a half washing time has become two hours. Not to mention you have to smell the machines before putting your clothes in otherwise they smell like mildew. She locked the doors and I had to stand outside in downtown Bakersfield alone until my ride could pick me up. Mind you there was someone in there doing laundry. Was extremely clean. We travel in our RV and had plenty of space to park in the lot. I had a ton of stuff to wash. The 8 load washer and dryers were very convenient. $12 for the XL washer and $1 per 10 min of the XL dryers. My clothes needed 30 minutes to dry. A lot of reviews mentioned the homeless issue in the parking lot. Yes, there are a lot of unhoused people but I did not feel unsafe. read more

I'm missing 2 pair of socks and I'm told it's impossible for them to lose them. I worked 6 days and only got 4 pair back. I'm sure I wear clean socks daily. They're not in my hotel room. They're not in my vehicle and they're not in the parking lot but somehow it's impossible for them to lose them. I won't be back. read more

Sparklean is my go to place for drop off laundry service. The staff is always friendly and they always get my laundry done within a few hours even if they are really busy. They use good detergent and they nicely fold and bag everything, my collared shirts and my wife's dresses are almost always put on hangers which I appreciate as well. Price is a little high for the service there is cheaper drop off in Bakersfield but it gets done well and quickly so I can't complain too much and they remain my go to after trying a few other places. read more

This is a horrible place to do laundry. The machines are always messing up. When the young girl that works there it's always filthy, she always has an attitude. I've seen her there with her kids and her kids do the cleaning. Homeless everywhere and smells like sewage often. read more

So I took my clothes there today, and I asked for my sweaters and jacket to be hung dry instead of the dryer. So I get there and my white sweater was black and my jack had white dirt and lint like they moped the floor with my clothes! Yet still paid full price and Was told to wait 28 minutes if I wanted to have it re washed and won't be charged!!!! Really ? You ruin my clothes and after a long day of work you want me to wait extra time and have me pay full price ? I don't write reviews but my sweater cost $140 and my jacket was $199 I'm not from here just here visiting! Like you had nervous to hand it to me and say it was like that ? All the employees here are horrible they always close the doors like an hour and half before they close ! Came at 9:00exactly she told me I couldn't wash because they close in 1 hour It's only takes 30 min to wash a small load which I had ! And it always happens to other people when I'm there ! I've been coming here for years & generally found the staff to be very friendly, but this afternoon when I arrived I noticed that there was none of the small detergent boxes available for purchase. I was appx. .30 cents short to purchase the $3.00 bag and asked the attendant if she had more she could put out for purchase or if not, could I have some soap for my small load. She really took her time thinking about whether or not she could spare any. While she "thought" about it, I offered to go to my car and look for more change but she said no and gave me a small amount in a cup. When I brought the cup back, she was annoyed & I since I was willing to purchase a small box, I offered to pay the .85 cents it cost for what she gave me. Instead of saying thank you, she said "now I won't get in trouble." I understand that this is a business, and the owner definitely has a profit margin to maintain, but at what point does customer service mean actually making the customer happy? At the very least have the supplies customers need to do what they need to do. read more

I'll be honest, I have nothing good to say about this place. In addition to the staff being rude a lot of the machines are out of order. The ones that aren't still don't work properly. My clothes came out of the wash fully soaked, I had to rewash them in order to activate the spin cycle. The dryer wouldn't activate so I swiped my card 4 times, come to find out it charged me all 4 times. The woman refused to give me my money back and tried blaming it on me when clearly the dryer wasn't working. The last time I came here I had to dry my clothes twice and when I was so frustrated and just left after the second time I STILL had to air dry about half. This place sucks, I recommend you never come here. I get it, it's a laundromat but take pride in your business no matter what it is. read more

Prices as follows: Top $1.98 Double $2.48 Triple $3.98 Extra $5.48 Power $8.58 Dry $.65 Big dry $1.00 There is a good number of washers and dryers here, plentiful folding areas too. Overall this site is pretty clean and the attendants are always busy doing some sort of General maintenance unless they are taking a break in the back or working on drop off service loads. Certain employees here are very rude; The sign says the place is to open at 7 a.m.; however, the attendant was almost 15 minutes late and showed not even the slightest care or remorse for having four separate paying parties wait. Very inconvenient and unprofessional. Many cards available. Vending machines for snacks and other needs take quarters. Restroom on-site. read more

Let me start this off by saying my family travels for a living so we are familiar with many different fluff n fold operations/ laundry facilities. I had already called ahead of time and talked to the owners who was super nice which Victoria "nicely" explained it's because he is the boss. Obviously meaning if you are not the boss you don't have to be nice. So I walk in asking about their fluff n fold services she automatically says yes but you will not get your laundry today you have a $150 order in front of you. I explained to her I called ahead and my family will be leaving by Sunday. She says ok ya we can have it done by then just bring it to the back. Looks at my clothes "uhhh is that only for 1 order?" Me yeah I'm sorry we are a family of 4. Her" well is there kids clothes because that takes longer." I'm like ya I'm sorry I have 7 year old but there's barely any of her clothes in there because we just traveled up this weekend to visit, she says ya that takes longer I try to joke with her how kids never keep their clothes folded to lighten the mood nope she still that stank ass attitude. So I proceed to tell her my father is a bigger but I need to have his shirts hung fry which were in ONE BAG by themselves already separated, proceeds to say we can only do that if it's 2 separate transactions and I told her fine that's fine give me the 2 separate tractions and it was still a problem. I have never felt like such a burden to any laundry mat before and like I said we go to fluff n folds at least 1 month I've never been treated so stupidly or not ever had these many issues with an employee. By the end her attitude was so rude I just said you no what I'll figure it out because you are just too much never had this many problems before. Then says oh make sure you give my boss a call and tell him like I sure am you stank ass attitude like if you hate your job so much or going to ruin peoples day by your mood maybe you need a new job. What's sad it's my family has been her years before never a problem before the Employee Victoria. The one star is for Theresa who does a good job. For the rest, the other woman who works full time is just flat out lazy. They have an out- -of-town owner so if someone doesn't show for their shift (which has happened a couple of times to me) you are screwed. The place has roaches & on the outside there is often a raw sewage smell. Take it for what it is worth. read more

The fluff and fold service is excellent. Very reasonably priced and fast. The people are also very friendly and great me like an old friend every time I come in lugging my dirty clothes. The machines at this laundromat often don't work properly -- and worse: many staff members don't seem to care when customers experience problems (and the owner typically responds with similar apathy). For example, a white load requires both bleach and hot water. But before the bleach goes into the water, the detergent needs a chance to work for a while. Each of the front-loading units has a place to put bleach in the top of the machine. After you add the bleach, it is supposed to be automatically added to the water at the appropriate time. Many times over many years, I have added bleach to these machines, only to watch in frustration as the bleach immediately goes down the drain. When I have brought this bleach problem to the attention of the staff, they have always--every time--assured me that this is the way the machines are supposed to work. (But of course I have seen these machines work properly enough times by now to know better.) Nevertheless, the first time Sparklean staff assured me that this bleach problem was not a malfunction, I naively tried to give them the benefit of the doubt (even though I knew better). But after seeing so many dirty socks (etc.) come out after supposedly being washed, I realized that they were indeed wrong. So I called the owner's phone number (which is displayed on the wall adjacent to the little staff room in the back, near the bathroom). I left the owner a message telling him about the problem and leaving my number, asking him to call me back. Although I usually use the 8 load machines (costing over $8 per cycle), I didn't ask him to compensate me for the money. Frankly, I would have gladly settled for a sincere apology. But he never even bothered to call me back. The next time I went to Sparklean, I checked the same machine, to see if the bleach problem had been fixed. It hadn't! I have encountered this same problem in various machines over the years, with the staff always giving me the same bogus assurance that the bleach is being dispensed properly. I have left many messages for the owner, but apparently he just does not care enough about having properly operating equipment to even call me back. Sometimes, in addition to the bleach not working properly, there is no hot water. (If a machine is working properly, you should be able to put your fingers into the detergent dispenser to feel hot water washing the detergent down after the cycle starts.) Recently I was the only customer at Sparklean, as the staff member saw me putting in a white load. After I noticed that the water wasn't hot, I told her. She yawned and shrugged, saying "our boiler hasn't been working." "But I have already started the load," I replied, "and this load needs hot water. What can I do now?" She turned around and walked away, not saying a word. So I picked up my phone and called the owner. This time he actually answered! He acted like he didn't know anything about the boiler problem (but didn't really seem to care much about it). Finally I was able to convince him to call to talk to the on-site staff member about it. A few minutes later I heard the phone ring, as he finally called the staff member. She told me they wouldn't be able to have the boiler fixed that day. So I told her that I needed to stop the washer and that I need'a refund for the failed load. I did finally get my money back, but I never received even a half-hearted apology from the staff member or the owner (who still had my phone number of course). I then loaded 21 loads' worth of wet laundry (from three washing machines) into my vehicle, bringing them to a different laundromat. After going to this laundromat for many years, I should say that a few of the staff members here have been very friendly and conscientious, trying to keep things clean and keeping themselves busy with their duties. But many of the staff members seem to be primarily interested in watching TV. Knowing that these same staff members are responsible for washing laundry for people who use the drop-off service, I am astounded that they don't even seem to know the simple functions of their own machines relating to basic issues like bleach. Due to its location, sometimes I still find it convenient to use this laundromat. But from now on, I will pour the bleach in the dispenser first (before loading the laundry into the machine and before swiping the card) and I will check to make sure that there is hot water. I advise you to do the same -- or to be prepared for disappointing results. read more

I come here every Wednesday and do laundry while my son is at his 6th grade program at church. I love that this place is well lit inside, clean and even SMELLS clean! The staff are on site until they close the doors (I believe at 9:30pm). And they are very friendly. I've never used the drop off service. read more

Nothing special here, not that you would expect much out of a laundry mat but this one is pretty basic. The mechanics are pricey than the usual for nothing great to offer. They have detergent stuck in them, along with bleach. Had to search a while to find a machine that dodnt have bleach in it. I washed my laundry but felt I had to watch it the entire time due to the homeless walking around the facility and parking lots. Uses laundry card which is annoying if I don't use all of the amount. I took my clothes to the "drop off" service here and was very disappointed. The staff washed darks and whites together, causing black stains from dark rinse jeans to materialize on my brand new long sleeved white t-shirt.
