We spent a total of $45 dollars since I have one preschooler and one toddler (kids under 3 are free!). We got one tray of food to feed the animals, and my older daughter got to do a pony ride too. First we went to the guinea pig area, where you get to sit down and have the attendant place a guinea pig in a little pen on the bench with you. You can feed it and pet it, and if there's no line then you can stay as long as you like! The guinea pigs are so tame and tolerant. It was the perfect thing for my young toddler to experience, since she is the opposite of gentle (we're working on it, ha!). My preschooler loved feeding the guinea pig too. Then we saw the pigs and emu. The pigs were so cute and little! Next to their pen was the goats. The goats were HUNGRY! Even when we ran out of food they kept trying to reach for things. But they were pretty gentle too. There is plenty of space for kids to spread out and pet or feed the goats. Lastly, they have some llamas and alpacas next to the goats. They didn't seem as interested in the food but they didn't mind a few gentle pats on the head. There's lots of shade available, which was a must when you come around noon in July. The whole guinea pig area is fully covered, and about half of the remaining animal areas are in shade too, so we were warm but not overheating. The pony ride was great. Kids 3 and up are allowed to ride. The saddles are equipped with full enclosed harnesses so the littlest kids will remain securely fastened. The pony trainer leads your kid around the path, but parents have to stay back at the entrance. I wish parents could go in with the kids, especially if it's their first time and they're feeling a little nervous- so that's my only suggestion for improvement. After all the animal activities, we went to the other side where there is a playground and other activities, like a train, some diggers and panning for gold. We just played on the playground and didn't pay for any additional activities. There are some benches and picnic tables, some with shade, near the playground so it was perfect for a snack break. All in all, we spent almost 2 hours here and it was the perfect mid-morning activity for my animal-loving kids!

There were goats, an emu, and other animals to feed. There are also pony rides that cost more money. The kids enjoyed it. The staff were also really friendly. There is also an area to do some panning and sit on a digger. They charge for both of those. And the panning has different tiers if you want to splurge and get better rocks. One of the diggers was out of order, and the digger my son went on wasn't working properly. The guy at that station was on his phone the whole time and wasn't available to help, so that was a wasted run. Very much a cash grab. Honestly, the boutique shops and eateries around the ranch and the small park were more worth it.

I will say they rate their climbs lower than other gyms, resulting in harder climbs with lower numbers. Super great place just to pop in, grab some rental shoes, and try to do a few climbs. This screenshot is the latest from today, 8/13/25. I haven't used their gym since January/Feb and have been attempting to cancel since then. I am more than happy to take this as far as it takes to achieve a fair resolution. If somebody is not using a service, they should not have to pay for it, and they should be allowed to cancel at any time. They're insisting I have a balance for the month the membership unfroze (wasn't told it unfroze) and they want the money for that month. It's absurd. They do have a free trial, which is great. The woman who runs it, a former preschool teacher, greeted us personally. All of the staff made a point to say hello and ask my child's name. Instead of just watching the children play, the staff engaged with the kids, which was awesome. It wasn't super busy, because they limit the amount of kids that can register. Parent participation is mandatory, no shoes, that's about it. They have an awesome unisex bathroom, with a changing table and different toilet like things for each different stage. There's a quiet room, an art and activity box room, a big room with a slide and different play areas like a puppet theatre and a little kitchen. They also have costumes and mostly anything a young child could want. My daughter had so much fun! We will be back next time we visit in San Clemente.

Courtney's Sandcastle Playground: This place is a gem. It's gated (HALLELUJAH), shaded, and inclusive, which means every kid can enjoy it. My littles were obsessed with the pirate ship and musical areas, while my older two found enough to climb, spin, and race on to keep them out of each other's business. Bonus: there's a splash pad section for warmer days, and YES--there are actual bathrooms inside the play area. Moms, you know why that matters. Sports Fields Galore: If you've got kids in sports--or kids who just think they're in the Olympics--this park has huge open fields, soccer goals, and space to sprint until they collapse. We brought a ball, and suddenly everyone forgot they were "too hot" or "too tired" to play. Magic. Walking Trail: There's a nice little loop path, perfect if you've got a stroller crew or you're pretending you're getting your steps in while bribing toddlers with snacks. Aquatics Center Right There: We didn't do the pool this time, but the Aquatics Center is literally steps away. So this spot could easily turn into a full day outing if you're feeling brave (or caffeinated enough). Parking & Setup: Easy parking, tons of grassy space for picnics, and plenty of shade for those of us who are just there to supervise and hand out snacks. Would I go back? In a heartbeat. It's fully paved with rubber surface. There is one play structure that's a very cool pirate ship. There's a slope with 1 infant swing and 2 saddle swings. There are 2 tables with seating. There are 2 benches by the play structure and 1 by the swings. However, they also have a palm tree lined "bench" on Golden Lantern side. This area provides some shade, otherwise, not shaded. It's near the ocean though so not very hot. It is gated and small so easy to keep an eye on kids. There are 2 trash cans and no water fountain. I recommend this park if your kids like pirate ships and for a relatively short play time.
