I really appreciated that he gave me several options to consider instead of pressuring me into one solution. What impressed me most was how clearly he explained everything. Since I know very little about how HVAC systems work, he broke it down in a way that was easy to understand--almost like he was teaching an elementary school student, but in the best way possible. He was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly skilled. Thank you, All City, for sending someone with Sky's expertise and valueto my home. He's a true asset to your team, and I highly recommend both him and All City!

I called All City Plumbing, Air and Electrical because I had diagnosed that my furnace's blower…read moremotor and capacitor needed to be replaced. Jonathan came out and confirmed that that was indeed true. Everything seemed to be going well. Jonathan was very friendly and polite. When it came time for the estimate, he told me it was going to be just under $3,000. That seemed like quite a lot to me for just changing out a blower motor and a capacitor. He also told me that my Rheem furnace couldn't take just any old blower motor and he had to order one special. He said that his company doesn't deal with Rheem because their parts are hard to get. I reluctantly agreed to the repair, which he said would probably take place the next day. Later, he called and said the part wasn't going to arrive for a whole week. This was during one of the hottest weeks of the year in Southern California and I certainly didn't want to be without air conditioning, which runs through my furnace and needs the blower motor. I asked him what my other options were. He told me the only other option I had was to get a whole new system. He explained that he could install the system in only 2 days time or I could wait a whole week and have him repair the blower motor. He also mentioned a 10 year warranty with 1 or 2 years of service from his company. I asked him about the brand and quality of the Furnace that he intended on selling me, which was going to be almost $8,000. He told me it was better than my current system brand and I asked to get it in writing so I could do some research. After not receiving anything in writing I called his company and requested the same thing from them. Shortly after the conversation with his company I received an email specifying the make and model of the new furnace. I researched online and discovered a few interesting things. Number one, Jonathan had lied to me about Rheem parts. I found out from my online research that Reem takes Universal parts and I would not have had to wait until the next week to receive a blower motor that would fit. I also discovered that blower motors and capacitors cost nowhere near $3,000 to install. And finally, the brand of the new furnace that was recommended by Jonathan was nowhere near the quality of the Rheem furnace that I already owned. I canceled the job immediately with the company and again with Jonathan when he called me to find out what was going on. I am still waiting for my refund on the deposit! My contractor friend and I went to an HVAC store and purchased a universal blower motor and capacitor for $180... and installed it ourselves in a couple hours. The system is working perfectly. I don't recommend this business at all. I'm completely confused on why they have such a good rating on Yelp, which is why I picked them to begin with. This was a clear case of trying to take advantage of an old lady in a wealthy neighborhood. Shame on them!! Update: I received a full refund of my deposit and the service fee was completely waived. I got a nice apology from the owner and a manager.

He even took the time to greet my children and was very warm and friendly with them. Daniel was able to determine that a faulty line/wire was causing the power issues in the bedrooms. After checking the attic, he also discovered some problematic wiring and conditions involving the subpanel. He recommended running new wiring and replacing a damaged breaker in the attic panel, which would not only fix the problem but provide a much safer setup and help prevent potential hazards like an electrical fire. The price was fair, and the work took about two hours, just as he estimated. He worked diligently the entire time without taking a break. I honestly felt bad for him being up in our attic because it had to be easily 120° up there! I offered him water throughout the job, which he graciously accepted. Before leaving, Daniel also gave me an estimate to upgrade our existing breaker box. That price seemed very reasonable as well, especially compared to estimates I've received from other companies in the past. Overall, great experience. Daniel was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and got the problem taken care of. We'll definitely be reaching out to Nick' Electric again for future electrical repairs and other work. Thanks again, Daniel!

We had just bought a home and needed some work done. I reached out to several contractors and…read morehandymen including Javier. For a handyman his quote was actually high. It was comparable to the licensed contractors. Despite this I decided to go with Javier because his police was "100% Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed" and he had great Yelp reviews. The first job he did for me didn't go as well as I had hoped. He had asked to use my garage to store his tools while working which I said was ok but then everything in it got so dirty. Secondly, there was some misunderstanding about a few light switches which he did fix on his dime and I do appreciate. And third was how my kids room was covered in a thick dust layer. He apologized and asked how he could make it right. I said to clean it and he said he would. But after I never noticed it cleaned. I also asked about the 10% discount that he had put on Yelp for first time customers. He said it was included in the quote even though it wasn't shown on the quote. I still don't know if he discounted me because there's no way to know. Finally, I had asked him to take down a wall. He opened the whole wall and said it had pipes and would cost a lot to reroute them. I said I couldn't afford that so he put back the wall but charged me to put it back. He should have done a test hole on it to make sure it was ok to take down before hand or not charged me to put it back. I had more work that needed to be done and while I should have known from my first experience, I decided to give Javier another shot. This time things went much worse. I had mentioned that I had brand new wood floors and carpet put in and he needed to put something down or clean it after he was done because his guys were the only workers there. He agreed. But every time I came to check on work he only had a painter's tarp down that constantly got moved or one area with some paper taped down. I then figured he would clean it after he was done. But he didn't. He said that he wasn't the only one there because I came by to put things in the garage or answer a question he had. He said he would use a wet/dry vac to get up anything he left but it was spot vacuuming. He refused to vacuum the whole house where there was carpet even though he was working in the whole house. After he finished I am still finding pieces of wire, drywall or even nails. And the wood floors were perfect before he did work. He didn't clean them either. And it was during the week we got a ton of rain. So clearly he did not care about customer satisfaction. Secondly, his initial time frame was 4 days. It ended up taking 7 days. This was really hard for me as I had a deadline to move in. On day 4 he said they were 80% done. But when I went to go see I pointed out all the things that he still hadn't done. He apologized and said he completely forgot about them. There was a one day delay on my part because of doors I ordered that came in late but even if they were there on time he still wouldn't have finished on his initial time frame. His drywall guy (who is his brother I'm told) is not very good. He always oversprays texture (as seen in pics) and doesn't match the original texture. I was constantly having to point out where he over sprayed. And he had forgotten to put in the baseboard. Javier came back to put in the baseboard but now it doesn't match. It kept being one problem after another. The doors I ordered they put in but didn't measure to make sure they would clear the carpet so I had to pay them to cut off a little of each door. The closet door I had him put in didn't slide so he had to fix it. One door his brother put in the wrong way and thankfully I noticed before it was finished so they could change it. And so on. It was like I had to babysit their work and ask them to clean up after themselves. He also never finished his original job as hired for. He was supposed to install my new front door but said it would be a 2 1/2 week delay. After everything I said I would hire someone else. And while I would never hire him again, he also never sent me a quote for other work I had asked him for. For being a handyman that charges as much as a licensed contractor I expected much more.
