I first had a new 200 amp electrical panel installed years ago, along with new outlets to the garage, and an outlet specifically for an electric car. The electrical work was super clean. haven't had any issues whatsoever. Recently, I had an outlet installed for a tankless water heater. A different set of electricians came, but the work was just as clean. Apologies for not being able to recollect the names of all the folks that have worked on my house. Would like to thank Trout Electric for making the transition to EV charging easy. I contacted multiple electric companies about installing a Tesla WallConnector and Trout by far was the easiest and best choice I could have made. Scott provided a quote 10 minutes after requesting one. After speaking to Scott on the phone and having him answer all the questions I had, I agreed to the quote online. Several minutes later I got a call from their front desk to schedule an appointment the next week. Installation day, Marco and his colleague showed up on time, did their thing for an hour and got me up and running. They did a clean job and very professional. After installation they went to the city for me to get the permits for their work. One week after installation Itzel reached out via email to let me know the permit was almost finalized and all I had to do was to reach out to the city to have an inspector sign off on the job. The inspector signed off on the job and I am one happy customer! There are plenty of companies you can contact to install EV chargers but the process with Trout was unbelievable, I didn't have to worry about anything. Electricians are all the same, right? WRONG. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had with any work done at the house. Marco and Federico and Moises went so far above and beyond my expectations, I just can't recommend them enough. Our 100-year-old house had old knob-and-tube wiring, which is a fun way of saying "loose fabric on hot wires in all the walls", so it needed a complete rewire, plus a new panel, new switches, new outlets, and of course to be brought up to current code. These three guys were artists. Obviously they had to make holes in all the walls, but they did so with care and precision, which made the patching job really easy and clean. They worked closely with me on figuring out where everything was going to go, which switch would control what, where it was best to install new ceiling fixtures, and they had great advice throughout the process (and they were very polite about gently telling me when I was suggesting something stupid or impossible). They also ran ethernet wiring throughout the house, so now we have no wifi dead spots, and they handled the installation of cameras and other smart tech, so I didn't have to figure any of that out. It was a total pleasure working with Marco and his team. Smart, knowledgable, friendly, and professional. Highly highly recommend. read more

I selected Trout Electric based upon their Yelp reviews. I needed a ground fault interrupter assessed and repaired or replaced. When I called their office, I was greeted professionally and received an appointment for the next day. My electricians, Matt and Thomas, showed up exactly on time. Both Matt and Thomas were polite, attentive, and immediately diagnosed my problem - my GFI had died. They left briefly to get a new GFI, installed it immediately upon return, and showed me the new GFI and their installation. I wish more companies had diligent and conscientious employees like Matt and Thomas. They were just great. The cost for the new part and installation was at their quoted price and done perfectly. Well i had a ceiling fan that wasnt working and i wasnt sure if it was an electrical problem or the fan itself. They confirmed it wasnt electrical and suggested to fix the fan instead of replacing it. It had several failures before not working at all after a year plus. They did nothing for me, really. They were responsive and worked efficently, but in the end, i was just down a couple hundred bucks with the same problem a couple years later. Instead of getting a new fan they opted to fix it on the spot instead of suggesting the better option, replacing it. All in all good customer service, but i wouldnt trust them. Definitely not hiring them to install an EV charger. Imagine the same thing happening again. read more

Long story short, that electrician burned the 50 amp breaker and burned our 100 amp panel. We had an emergency and needed to find new experts quick. It was foolish to go back to the electrician that didn't do the job properly so we called a few experts to get opinions but decided on Trout. Matt C. and Antonio came and out and that was when things turned around for the better. Holy cow, we were so impressed by them. For us, it was the small details. The documentations, panel calculations, the torque screw marks on the new 200 amp panel, the way the wires were placed, organized and how the conduit had these beautiful bends. In addition, the way they cleaned up after themselves, moved furniture back without hesitation and communicated with transparency when it came to pricing and getting everything up to code. Had an appointment for an electrical work estimate on February 12, 2024. A nice young man arrived on time and was very professional and informative. Unfortunately, that's where it ended. No quote was ever received. No follow up phone call, nothing in my email or spam folder........nothing. Not sure what happened. I had, I believe, a $ 7,000-10,000 project based on several quotes I had previously received. My hope was that, if the electrical work went well, I would also have a $15,000 -20,000 solar+ battery project soon afterwards. I ended up giving the project to another company who provided an extremely detailed quote within 24 hours which allowed me to verify the scope, pricing, etc. Of the 6 companies that I called for estimates, Trout was the only one that I never heard from again. Maybe they were just really busy. Maybe it was beyond their skill set. Maybe they didn't like the project. Whatever the reason, it was probably best that I go with a company that has good quality control....even in the quoting department. Mark came out to change some switches for me and I expressed some concerns with a few other things and he thoroughly checked things out. While doing so he made sure to explain what he was doing and why- the fact he took time to educate me on my home helped with some of the worries I had been experiencing.
