Driving from the airport we came across this little gem and decided to stop and were we glad we did! I wish we had gotten pictures of my food but we gobbled it all up too fast! They sell many kinds of tacos. I got the chori pollo and the Al Pastor. They were both amazing. The fried corn is so good it should be illegal. We didn't try the margaritas which gives us a reason to go back. Our server was so sweet and I'm kicking myself for not remembering her name. (She was from New York I remember!) Where do I start! Came to the area to buy a camper and stopped here for lunch. To say the least this was near the top of my list for any Mexican style restaurant I've had. Jude was an incredible server and her hospitality was noticed right when walking in. Only server for the day and she was kicking butt making sure everyone was taking care of and my beer was filled! The food, impeccable. The twist and flare Jorge (the cook) puts on the food was very to par with my liking. The street corn is a must especially my visit being in the summer and in season. We just moved from California and have been longing for good Mexican Food. Found it! Sparky's Tacos... while visiting family in Honea Path, SC. Off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. Delicious down to the chips. It's not just tacos, but a variety of dishes that looked wonderful. The burrito came with a chili relleno that was a meal in on it's own. We loved the homemade horchata. Our waitress was a gem and the service was perfect. Not only was the food great, the portions were more than we could handle, and we took plenty home. Priced right, too. I wish we could have stayed afterwards. It looked like there was going to be a fun karaoke night out front. read more

When we first passed Sparkys we weren't sure about it. After some convincing I agreed to stop. Definitely worth the stop! From the moment we stepped out we were greeted by the staff. we immediately felt like we belonged there. On top of that the food was fantastic. Ok. LISTEN UP: People are all different, with expectations, attitudes, experiences, etc. Ok we know that... or should. When you read reviews, just understand THAT. We read the reviews and were on our way to the nearest town for a car show and decided to go after the show, which we did. This restaurant is one of the best Mexican food places that we have been to! Especially for the price. The food was prepared beautifully. It was brought to our table hot. The waitress was a sweetheart, who checked on us several times! The Owner came out and checked on us too, just to make sure we were happy. Amazing and we felt appreciated as customers. SO: go there if you have a chance. EVERYTHING is fresh and delicious. I've been passing this place for months and I finally stopped in today. Since I had been driving for not quite three hours my first stop was the ladies room. Upon entering the building I was impressed with how bright and clean it was and the powder room was also spotless and well stocked. I went ahead and seated myself and ordered something I've never seen before. It was the Mama's special. I was given a basket of chips and some salsa while waiting, chips were fresh and tasty, really enjoyed the salsa. My meal came out quickly and nice and hot. Grilled chicken and shrimp over a bed of spaghetti pasta smothered in a delectable queso sauce. Ok, I am always up for a good queso so this was heaven on a plate! Truly outstanding meal and I had more than enough so I also had some leftover for later. Sparky's will be my go to Mexican place from now on!! read more

The food is great here. I would definitely recommend the tacos- my favorite is the southwestern or the piggy one. The shrimp special (I think it's called the Evelyn special) is nothing to write home about. The only reason this restaurant didn't get 5 stars is because the service is terrible. The first time we went, the girl who was our waitress ended up not finishing our our service because she was making a phone call crying in the middle of the restaurant. Today when we went, we were 1 of 3 tables and were without water refills for 20 minutes and didn't get a napkin until half of our food was gone. Once we asked for water and a missing taco, our waiter had to stand and talk to another waitress (the girl mentioned above) for a few minutes before getting our refills. If you go with the expectation of great food but horrible service, you'll be good to go! read more

Our server Amanda was a gem. She had multiple tables and a large group come in and she handled it so well. I overheard the manager being a bit rude to her which, coming from a fellow service industry worker, seemed uncalled for given how well she handled her tables. How do I make this SIX stars?! We moved to this area from Southern California about a year ago, and we have been on the hunt for a good Mexican restaurant ever since. I'm happy to say; the hunt is over! This place was hands down some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. My wife and I were extremely happy with our orders. The staff was professional and attentive. Food prices were reasonable and a good value (~$10 per plate... came hungry; left full!) We will definitely be back! read more

We just went there and waited for at least 15 minutes. My husband kept calling the phone from the booth just to get someone's attention bc no one came out to even acknowledge that we were there. All the waitress did was grab the phone and took it to the kitchen. We weren't the only people there waiting.... There was a whole lobby full of people that weren't even taken care of before we walked in the door. This place has definitely gone down hill and we won't return! read more
