Manager was aware I wanted a piece that just came in. Priced it as a set only. Would not separate the two dressers when they clearly could have been sold separately, and especially knowing one could have walked out the door right there. Poor customer service. read more

We have been donating to this charity since they help a lot of people. HOWEVER, we absolutely dislike looking around to buy anything because the people at the checkout are extremely RUDE! My husband is such a sweetheart and he will not go in there at all because he dislikes the customer service so egregious that he will not in step inside the door. He will help bring in our donations but heads to the door like a bat out of heck! Not are they rude once twice but ALL THE TIME. I wanted to donate my time there however I would not like to donate my time with the rudest people I have ever seen. We will just keep donating money and items that will bring in large amounts of money. read more

Been shopping here for years around Christmas for kids. Everything was neat and clean. But when I went to check out. The girl (Sam) didn't even say Hi. When I went up she rolled her eyes at me. Then when I went to pay she threw my change on the counter. She couldn't even give it to me.. Probably my last time at this location.. read more

Sue the assistant manager here just barked my head off about a check in offer I tried to use! I love this thrift store and frequent it quite often with my mother so I'm leaving that extra star there just for that! BUT WOW was this woman aggressive! There is a way of telling people that your store is closing for the day... yelling at people with attitude is not it. Got to the store at 4:50 and they said we close in 5 minutes with a sneer. They started turning people away at 4:55 saying that its 5 and that they are closed. They turned away customers and people looking to donate. They also turned away a child that was very obviously excited to run in and buy the one thing he was looking forward to buying. He was very sad as he left empty handed. Monsters. read more

Very aggressive and rude employees. I was in the store while they yelled at several people 5 minutes before closing that they were closed already. There is a way to handle that situation that is kind and treats people like humans. I saw a kid look excited as he approached the door to be turned away with his head bowed down in disappointment looking to purchase one specific item. A great thrift shop and a wonderful organization. The McHenry location seems to be a bit bigger than the Woodstock location. I always seem to have luck finding items here... clothes, books, household, decorative items.... They always have a great variety of items and are well supported by the community. read more

They aren't very kind here, well at least the Assistant manger isn't when it comes to check in offers. A measly 10% off offer for something that is $4 bux to begin with is apparently a big NO! NO! according to the management of this place. Its alright for the store it is but seriously if you want to attract your patrons, Don't chase them away with matters out of their hands like a Yelp check in offer that could infact boost your business. Be nice and grateful you have customers willing to make a purchase at your location, Lord only knows there are a billion other thrift stores with a way better selection of items as well as proper etiquette for an Assistant Manager to treat a customer with out displaying hostility. The place is kept clean and orderly. Like any other thrift shop, you never know if will be your lucky shopping day or not, however this is one of my go to stores in the area. I recommend stopping in if you get the chance. read more

I have found name brand clothes here. They do have sales but they do mark up clothes too high. I found nice furniture here. They sometimes mark up furniture too high here also. The manager sometimes won't budge on price. It is neat and organized in the store which I love. They added more space for furniture in another room so there is much more to choose from. Open later hours now, which is a plus. Won't let you use the bathroom though which is terrible since the customers always spend their hard earned money there. At least they could have the courtesy to let you use the bathroom when there is an emergency. read more

A wonderful find! I took my daughter prom dress hunting and found the best selection here. She got a beautiful red princess dress and I found a silk suitdress. The manager and staff and all the customers were friendly, like going shopping with girlfriends. Very clean and well organized. We believe in supporting thrift shops that support a cause and this is our favorite store! read more

They seem to do a good job filtering out the lower quality stuff. I asked about haggling, but the stern-worker-in-charge said maybe for high ticket items like furniture, but definitely not clothes. With misses tops at $8 and up, I couldn't afford as many pieces as I would have liked. I mean any higher with their prices & they'd be competing with Kohl's clearance prices. Good Shepherd's The Pink Door resale shop is right across the street, so that's a convenient stop, although I don't think they have as much misses-sized clothing. read more
