There's Tony, his wife Jennifer and their two kids, Jasmyn and Destiny, (OK, young adults) running the place and doing an excellent job at it! I started here about two years ago after wanting to get in better physical shape for Krav Maga lessons at another school, and business owners take note, I saw an advertisement at the Spring Hill Mall advertising Tactical MMA's 90-Day Kettle Bell challenge. Fans of Tim Ferriss already know about the impressive weight loss and muscle gain when just practicing with kettlebells, so I really didn't need any convincing, I signed up for the class and have slowly have been toning my body while gaining muscle mass. Tony, Jennifer, Jasmyn and yes, Destiny truly care to see their students perform to the best of their abilities. I've been training for ruck marches, a planned Goruck Tough in September and between starting a small security start-up and the extra workouts and rucks with 30-50lbs of weight I've added outside of working out at Tactical Mixed Martial Arts, there is never a negative word spoken, its an extremely friendly, positive training academy with life-affirming words to keep you working out, even if you find some of the workouts too much. Recently I've started taking their Cardio MMA class, which is three nights a week of a high-intensity circuit workout that I generally attend two and have added a weighted vest to add some variety to my workouts. Please don't let the name scare you, everyone attending kettlebells and the Cardio MMA classes are friendly, and like Tony and Jennifer, want to see you succeed with your physical fitness goals and have a good time doing it. The only complaint I have (Its a small one!) is the music sometimes gets a little repetitive, but they have been soliciting others for more music to add to the rotation. Definitely consider Tactical Mixed Martial Arts if you are looking to make a real change in your life when it comes to your workouts!

I took my 6 year old son who had never watched any type of wrestling. I myself dont watch wrestling. But this was a blast. We cheered. We booed. We laughed. These guys give it their all. Sure a few of the guys are still learning some stuff. But we have now attended 3 events and they are improving every time. The wrestlers come out and take pictures and shake hands with fans and especially the kids. The place itself is of course not some grand arena. It's not the WWE. So leave expectations at the door. It's a small venue but everyone that works there and I mean everyone is so friendly and accommodating. The last time we went we arrived late. The general admission was full. So the owner came over and put us in the VIP area. The young lady working the front is so nice and helpful too. They have inexpensive snacks and drinks as well as pizza slices. Back to the matches themselves...Matt Vine is awesome and talented. As is Anakin, Semsei (American Ninja Warrior), El Mero Mero, Mr Electricty and Jose. Connor is hilarious. I don't want to take away from the other guys as I can't remember all their names. But some are really great. And they all try to get the crowd into it. Not Bad Chad with his dancing entrance is so fun. The only thing missing is alcohol. But I can understand why they can't have it. And smaller shirt sizes for the smaller kids would be a good idea. But I can also understand the cost might outweigh the number of purchases. Bottom line is that for the price I find this a better value than a movie. And way more fun. This is just a fun and I feel, family friendly night.

Today I decided to pop in for a live class and did a little perusing online. Classes are typically $18, but first timers can get a $5 class if you select that option. The class I attended was an all-level Vinyasa taught by Jon and would've been worth the $18 so it's without a doubt worth $5. The space has a clean clutter feel to it. There's little decorations and salt lamps and it smells like incense. The skylight and the huge window let in so much light that it feels like you're practicing outside. The open window adds to that feel when you feel a light and welcome breeze. Size is the only setback... it's a somewhat narrow studio which makes a class feel pretty tight with about 10-12 people. This is possibly more personal preference because I love being in larger classes because I'm able to lose myself (or focus... I'm not sure which) a little more fully and this space is more ideal for small classes so you have room to spread out. Overall though, I will be back and I'll adjust to the smaller size... I may even come to love it. There are many different instructors and classes though out the week so experiencing different flows and styles is possible here. And the proximity to so many food options makes it the perfect spot to start my day before breakfast.
