    Proof we are here (unfortunately)

Service: 3 stars Food: 2 stars Atmosphere: Just sad My advice: Go somewhere else, this place will be probably be blown over soon enough for something new. I mean, this is Bothell. I grew up in the Seattle area and coming here was a treat. Over the years I've enjoyed the restaurant. While I haven't been back in years, this was the last time and I'll NEVER go back. The restaurant was quiet, 4 in the afternoon and we waited for 14 minutes before anyone came to bring water or ask for drinks. We almost walked out and went someone (we should have). My son and I ordered chicken Parmesan and my wife ordered a pizza. The salad came for each of the chicken Parmesan dishes. They were covered in cheese and not much lettuce. Awhile later the pizza came to the table and they left and said the rest will be out shortly. We waited for quite sometime and one of the chicken Parmesan came to the table and was told the next would be out shortly. While I waited my son offered me a piece of his garlic bread which was buttered bread, no garlic to be tasted, my son said the same. A while later my chicken Parmesan finally arrived. When we finished and the server asked if the meal was okay. We gave him the feedback explained here and explained service seemed to be non existent. His response back was that the restaurant help turnover rate is quite high. I explained the restaurant over the years had been quite good. However, we will never be back. The server said he had heard many times the place was better than it currently is from many people who had come in. We paid our bill and left.

I have been to Sparta's at Mill Creek a while ago and really liked the food. We wanted a dine-in experience with some great ambiance, so we decided to try the Bothell location. Hospitality was really great. It was a busy evening, we called in advance to make a reservation. The table was ready when walked in. We were helped by Alondra that day. Started with a mini pizza - #26 - Mushrooms, Green Peppers, Olives, Onions & Sliced tomatoes. Ordered a Lasagna with the soup, Cheese Ravioli, Root beer float and couple of sodas. The dine-in experience was great. They served the beverages first followed by the Salad. Also served the bread on the side with Olive oil/vinegar. Took a little bit time for the main courses to arrive. Really enjoyed the pizza. Top! The cheese ravioli was not impressive as last time we tried it; so as lasagna. Something was missing in those. Couldn't make out what's lacking! We told Alondra about this as well, she mentioned she will take the feedback to the chef. The overall experience was nice. The food was not up to the expectations. May be one off day. There are plenty to try from their options. We are disappointed, but that's not stopping us from going back and try their other options soon!

I usually get takeout from Sparta's location in Lynnwood. Haven't tried the new location in Mill Creek. However, this visit on 5/10/23 in Bothell was a convenient detour from Woodinville via Hwy 522 on the way home to Shoreline. Convenient parking lot, large interior dining area and also an outdoor patio area - perfect for the warmer, drier months to dine al fresco. Pleasant person at the host/reception stand. Menu items include starters, apps, pizza, pasta, and desserts. I placed my order onsite - large Italian sausage with extra cheese (w/ discount, tax, tip = about $35). It was a relatively brief wait and was handed a fresh, hefty, piping hot pizza. Back on the road and stuck in the usual commute traffic, the pizza traveled well and was relatively warm by the time I arrived home for dinner. Great local indie with convenient locations in Lynnwood, Bothell, and Mill Creek. Solid choice for both dine in and takeout.

Pepperoni, sausage, hot honey, heaven, leave me in peace...

Awful pizza. Sauce is so sweet. More crust then pizza, even my pizza loving kids disliked it. Never again.

Plenty of open tables. Waited just over 15 min, had 3 different people acknowledge we were there waiting for a table. Ultimately we left.

Classic sloppy Italian. Baked spaghetti was great these kind of places are getting harder to find.

Lorenzo opened Paseo in 1994, where his popular Cuban roast pork sandwiches were regarded as among the best in the country. After years of local expansion, Paseo abruptly filed for bankruptcy in 2014. The brand was subsequently bought out by a local entrepreneur, but the sale did not include Paseo's secret recipes (the reboot attempted to reverse engineer the sandwiches with varying success). So, in 2015, Lorenzo's sons revived Paseo under a new name, Un Bien, armed with their father's original recipes. Nowadays, Un Bien is generally regarded as superior to Paseo, and you can grab their Caribbean sandos at one of the three locations across Seattle. You can't miss the pastel pink-and-teal palette of the original shack on an otherwise drab block of Ballard. As you approach the wooden window, you are greeted by the aroma of sauteed meats and veggies. Communal laquered wood benches are lined up underneath a covered pergola. Fifties hits ring respectfully around the kitchen. My partner and I visited for late weekday lunch, and we ordered immediately. We opted to focus on the signature pork shoulder, so we split the #1 Caribbean Roast and #2 The Press. Across both sandwiches, we were impressed by the tender pork, rich onions, lemon-forward aioli, and marinade-soaked baguette. The standard roast pork sandwich added on pickled jalapenos and crisp romaine, culminating in a dynamic flavor that accentuated the meat. Meanwhile, The Press featured tart banana peppers, smoked ham, and melty Swiss, amping up the sweet and savory flavors alike; we agreed that this extra-messy sandwich just edged out the standard version. Our order took just minutes to be prepared, and the bill just topped $30. Despite the fanfare, I still found myself surprised by just how satisfying Un Bien's sandwiches turned out to be. Across all the food I ate in Seattle, only these pork sandwiches would be worth a return visit, even if I had to venture out of my way.

Messy, pricey, totally overrated…read more My family and I visited Un Bien and arrived approximately 45 minutes before closing. We ordered promptly, but were told we would only have about 10 minutes to use the seating area before it closed. When we asked for clarification because the restaurant was advertised as being open until 9:00 PM, staff confirmed they were open until then but said the seating area would close earlier anyway. After receiving our food, we were told not to sit down and were asked to leave the seating area altogether. The interaction felt abrupt and discourteous, especially given that we had arrived well before closing and had purchased food with the expectation that we could eat on-site. The food itself was average, but the poor customer service and inconsistent messaging about seating left a much stronger impression than the meal. There are other better places. Skip.
