Staying nearby for an event and my daughter wanted pizza. After looking at quite a few places online, we thought Cathouse sounded really good. We sat near the kitchen and were able to see the guy manning the pizza oven. I could not believe when I saw him rubbing his face with his bare hands and wiping his nose right after with his hand. I should have just left, but didn't because my child was hungry and it was late. I just hoped he didn't actually touch the food, just the pizza steel. He kept wiping his nose with his bare hand and I did see him move two different pizzas with the same hand. All I could hope is that the heat would kill any germs and he wouldn't touch our pizza. Just my luck, our server was busy and he delivered it. I ordered a small side salad, but didn't eat more than three bites because the lettuce tasted like plastic bag. The pizza was lackluster. We asked for extra sauce after receiving it because there wasn't any on the pizza to notice, but maybe it soaked in. I came here when it first opened under the origional owner who built everthing from scratch including the tables and bar. The drum set on the ceiling is amazing! Glad we didn't dine in, but the moment we picked up, I got in the car and was already ready to dive in. We were vanilla and ordered half cheese half pepperoni. Obviously the pie like all others are best served hot and fresh, and that's exactly how we chose to eat it, hot and fresh. Once the box was open I grabbed a slice pepperoni and it was heaven! The crust was thin, light, and airy. There was a thin layer of sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. Luckily the crust was good enough to hold the toppings so I'd say that all the contents on top was the perfect ratio to the crust. It was not oily and did not drip when I folded the pizza in half. Cathouse is a small pizza and sports bar. It does get very busy and crowded. You must have a lot of patience for your order to arrive or for even a slice of pizza. They reheat your pizza (5-7 minutes) so you can obviously enjoy it nice and warm. Most times you'd just have to wait for a fresh pizza, that will take (7-12 minutes) but wait times can be longer because again it's a busy restaurant. Per slice of pizza is $3 + tax. That is a pretty good deal. Pizza slices usually range from 4-6 per slice. I thought the taste of pizza is 3/5. The cheese & sauce gives me frozen tostino cheese pizza vibes, lol. To be perfectly honest - the pizza crust was very hard, dry, and was black on the bottom. It had a burnt taste - over cooked. So I read the comments carefully and saw that Cathouse Pizza was one of the recommendations to find it in this area. I went up to Snohomish on a weekend and I was not disappointed in the slightest. The Pickle Pizza was very good! It was a white sauce pizza with of course pickles and plenty of onions and seasonings. I nearly entirely devoured a whole medium size but remembered to ask Steve to see if he wanted some slices since he didn't come with me on this trip. He said yes! We had to close the door sometimes. But the goats cheese and candied walnuts pizza we ordered had a very interesting taste and liked it. First Pizza dough was a very thin and crispy. The texture was very good. It looked more like a dessert than a pizza bcz candied walnuts and drizzle of honey. We enjoyed this pizza. We ordered 12 inch but you can eat XL size for 2 or 3 people. One of my work friends claims this is the best pizza in western Washington. So I had to try it. I am not sure if I would say it's the best in western Washington, but its pretty F'n good. The dough is like a New York hand tossed thin crust but not greasy and floppy like most New York pizza. The crust was crisp with a snap. Excellent flavor. We also ordered the meatballs. I often will judge an Italian restaurant by their meatballs. If they put effort into the basics like Meatballs and sauce, they will do the same with everything else on the menu. The difference between fresh made hand rolled meatballs with scratch sauce vs frozen balls and canned sauce is very noticeable. The Cathouse does not disappoint. The balls and sauce were very good. I am sure their meatball sandwich will be excellent as well. I can see how my friend loves this place so much. Now I do also, Just wish I lived closer. read more
