Meh. There's not enough descriptors to order a pizza bLarge is 16, med is 14, small is 12 or 10. Don't go by them using their hands to describe it. The service is meh. They act Italian restaurant but nope, think pizza place. I had the Sparta salad. Disgusting. If the best you can do is bagged salad I can get at grocery, then nope. No croutons, no blue cheese in a supposedly house made blue cheese dressing. Either my server didn't know the difference or she intentionally misled me. All the pizza ingredients come from Sysco. None is fresh in house. Not the cheese, not the toppings, maybe the crust as that was the only thing that worked on the pizza. Everything else I could have had on a frozen store pizza. I also had the meatballs. They were okay but the sauce was crap and the cheese again is not fresh shred but from a bag. Do yourself a favor, do your pizza at home and make your own meatballs. Paying them is a waste of money. Hoping I can find a homeless person to give all these left overs to. They will appreciate it. read more

I was excited to try this upside down method (toppings underneath the cheese vs vice versa). Thought that was an innovative idea but unfortunately didn't love it. It resulted in the cheese becoming... stiff? If that makes sense? It came in a block form almost as if it was melted on a plate beforehand and then layered on top of the pizza after cooking (I doubt this is the procedure but that's how it felt). The cheese wasn't melted into the sauce/crust/toppings at all. End of the day it's take out pizza so we can't complain, but it wasn't my favorite. read more

We were seated immediately and the atmosphere was very homey and nice which I loved. They had an indoor fire pit which was cool. They had an abundance of staff but we were one of the only tables of guests. The food was good. We got a #34, #35, and a create your own pizza. They are deep dish pizzas and the larges are definitely a lot of food.. but they are also expensive. The pizzas were unique, as they have cheese over the crust, which I really enjoyed. We also got the mannicotti, which was good but nothing to write home about. We got a Caesar salad and a house salad with the creamy feta dressing which was really good and unique! I think the biggest let down was the service and the set up. We were a group of four, but did not have enough room for the 3 pizzas on our table so one had to be put on a nearby table which was annoying. Our server also kept forgetting little things- side of ranch, drink refills, extra plates, etc. Overall, our experience here was fine but it was definitely nothing to write home about. read more

Alright Sparta.. "Best pizza in the universe." Challenge: Accepted! Let me first point out the pictures attached to this review. This was our first Sparta experience... and it was effing phenomenal! We typically like to challenge new restaurants with our more complicated orders the first time and Sparta's Pizza & Spaghetti House in Bothell not only took on the task of hand crafting us the absolute picture perfect pizzas.. the quality was nothing to shake a stick at! Here's the rundown: Their crust is just... unfair. What will definitely make us keep coming back for more is the crust. A good pizza place knows that their dough is the absolute foundation of their entire business. (Pun intended) Sparta delivered a crispy pan fried deep dish bottom with a delicate, perfectly chewable inside and airy outside crust that makes you want to keep eating long after you've reached your limit. Wear comfortable clothes. The sauce is no-nonsense. Traditional in every sense of the word. They don't over complicate it. You get a robust, thick tomato base with just the right amount of flavor. They don't over sweeten or salt this stuff. It's just to the point. The toppings are fresh, flavorful and hearty. They aren't shy but also aren't sloppy. They pile on your requested items freely and you won't feel like they are being stingy. To finish things up and to ensure all of those toppings are complimented ... the danish mozzarella. All I can really say is this... Just... wow. The cheese tastes just the way you would expect it to taste by looking at it. (Again...see pictures) The thick and thin of it is this: "We prayed to the pizza gods and they delivered." Food not good. Not the noodles, not the sauce, not the chicken, not the shrimp, not the olives, not the bread. Chicken parm tasted weird. Shrimp in shrimp salad had no flavor. The bread was dry amd flavorless. The 1000 island salad dressing was great. The starter Chicken and Rice soup that had no chicken nor rice was our first clue. Service was great, though! This is the second time I have ordered pizza from the Bothell Sparta's where I was completely disappointed. I have frequented the Lynnwood location for years and that location is STELLAR and I highly recommend it, but the Bothell location frankly sucks! There is not enough cheese on the pizza to even cover the sauce underneath which makes the pizza dry and unappetizing. I shouldn't have to order a pizza with extra cheese, when the Lynnwood location has always had enough on where you don't have to unless you are a cheese-fiend. Should all locations of the same restaurant be the same? And consistently the same? Well, the two times I've been to the Bothell location they have skimped so much on the cheese that I'm all done trying to like them. So, they are consistent, at least, just not in a good way. I would rather drive further north to the Lynnwood location and have the better version of this pizza. read more

Get their Sparta's Special Pizza!! Very delicious and has a lot of "stuff" in it which I love. We ordered the Spartas special, the Greek pizza, Baked Italian Sausage links + Spaghettini and Fettuccini Alfredo and the pastas comes with either salad or garlic bread so we got both. The salad was covered in danish cheese, and the garlic bread was super soft and fluffy but I couldn't taste the garlic so it was more of a buttered toasted bread than garlic bread. Our waitress was very nice but she forgot about both of our pastas and the garlic bread that comes with the pasta, and gave us the wrong pasta dish :( I think she gave us the baked spaghettini with meat sauce since our pasta didn't have any sausage links. We were also charged incorrectly which the waitress fixed but there was just a lot of back to back mishaps during this dining experience. She seemed new to the job/ young but she also knew how to resolve issues which I appreciated. read more

We love Sparta's! Been going to both locations for over 20 years and it never disappoints. Years ago a server told me the secret to their sauce is soaking cinnamon sticks in it. The baked (read: cheesy) pastas are so good but these days we mostly go for Pizza and love that we can Door Dash it since we never leave the house. It's such a great pizza - if you like really think crust and lots of Danish cheese then you'll love it. If you like thin crust, don't even go here (also, whyyyy? eww!). I have to say the garlic cheese bread was AMAZING and you might have to ask for it because I did NOT see it on the menu. I actually didn't see an appetizer section on menu at all. Danish cheese! Who knew? I didn't know, but I found out I love it! We had a fantastic Sparta salad covered in cheese and drizzled with house made creamy feta dressing. It was a great way to top off the meal. The pizza was so good we haven't stopped talking about it yet. It's just the way we like our pizza. The crust is not super thick (which is how I prefer it), but it seems like a deep dish because it is filled with toppings, and all of it is held in and held together by the luscious toasty layer of Danish cheese on top. The pizza here is good and packed with toppings. When we order it for delivery, it's ready very fast. Since we're local, it's still nice and warm when it gets to us. Their pizzas are not exotic or best-ever-in-my-life quality, but for a good neighborhood goto, it ticks all of the boxes in a very satisfying way. The packed toppings can make the crust a bit soggy by the time it gets to us, but that's tough to avoid with a delivered pizza and the flavors are good. They also have a great variety of available toppings and pizza combos that make it easy to get something for everyone. Family style Italian food. I had the lasagna which was good; the noodles were not the flat larger noodles but narrower kind. Nothing wrong with that but just a different texture.
