Disappointing Experience for a Prenatal Massage As someone new to the area and in my third trimester of pregnancy, I was excited to find a place that offered prenatal massage. Unfortunately, my experience here was frustrating and far from relaxing. When I called to book, I specifically asked about prenatal massages. I was told they offered them but that I needed to see Lori, their only licensed prenatal masseuse, at a specific day and time. I booked an 80-minute session as directed. Upon arrival for my 12:30 PM appointment, I filled out extensive paperwork and was assured it wouldn't cut into my massage time. However, I wasn't brought to the massage room until nearly 1 PM. Instead of receiving the 80-minute massage I booked, I was only given 60 minutes. The massage itself was underwhelming. Despite noting on my paperwork that my feet were an area of concern, the masseuse skipped them entirely. The music, which I supposedly selected as "Mountain Escape" with piano, was an odd mix of space-themed and tribal tracks, which made it hard to relax. The lights were only dim for part of the session, further detracting from the atmosphere. When I brought up the timing issue at the reception desk, the staff member made excuses, claiming: 1. I had booked incorrectly (not true, as I explicitly stated I needed a prenatal massage when booking). 2. The reduced time was due to the paperwork (which I was told wouldn't be an issue). 3. The masseuse skipped my feet because she was cramming everything into the shortened session. Rather than acknowledging the oversight, the receptionist repeatedly implied the error was mine, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. The lack of transparency, subpar service, and refusal to take accountability completely ruined the experience for me. I left more stressed than when I arrived. If you're looking for a truly relaxing and premium prenatal massage, spend your money elsewhere--preferably at a luxury hotel spa where professionalism and customer satisfaction are prioritized. **Update:** Shortly after posting my review, the manager called to personally apologize for my experience and offered a complimentary massage to give the spa another try. While I appreciated the prompt response and the effort to make things right, I'm still unsure if I feel comfortable returning. I'm hesitant to go back. I didn't really like that the receptionist wasn't upfront and transparent with me about time with I explicitly asked her, and I had to question her on it after before she changed her story. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling the opposite, as if I had done something wrong rather than being valued as a customer. This was meant to be a special treat, and given how much I was looking forward to it, the outcome was disappointing. I'm grateful for the manager's thoughtful follow-up, which showed they care about customer feedback. I am still not going to return. The massage was subpar and fell far short of my expectations. Granted, I'm a noob at pampering but their Pre-massage questionnaire seemed very well thought out and made my experience just what I'd wanted...medium firm massage, coconut scent, my choice of sound, my choice of water or tea....I had Vanessa, and she was great. Friendly but not too chatty, with great technique & calm, considerate kindness. I will plan a return visit for another signature massage. The hand/foot treatments sounds decadent and are well-priced. Now I'm all tingly & smell nice & am a puddle of relaxed mom-ness. Ahhhhhhhhh Pro tip: don't skimp on the Pre-massage arrival time! Spavia Day Spa was just the pampering that I needed. It is in the same shopping center as Home Goods but on the opposite end of the parking lot. They have many services here including waxing, massages, foot scrubs, facials and more. You can schedule an appointment online or by calling the spa. The process for booking online was easy and I received a confirmation and a reminder for the appointment before the date. They have a new client deal, which is $20 off of the service. They also have a membership where you can get one service a month for a discounted price. Upon arrival I was greeted and given a tablet to fill out new customer information which took about 5 minutes to do. Once I finished, I was shown the locker/changing room. They have a shower and bathroom inside this room as well. The lockers all have sandals and robes inside for you to change and get comfortable. After you are changed, there is a waiting area where your aesthetician or masseuse will come and get you for your appointment. The waiting area has a selection of tea and water as well. The facial was really nice. In between the lotions and masks that are applied, you also get a massage on your arms and neck. Nothing was tingly or uncomfortable, which I appreciated. I have been to some amazing resort spas over the past few years. It is my favorite way to treat myself and unwind. I'm new to the area, and was in a pinch to book a massage last minute after a stressful few weeks at work. I saw this place pop up while doing a quick search and thought it look a bit unassuming compared to what I was used to, but after reading such great reviews I decided to book an appointment. I was able to get in with only a days notice! When I arrived, the receptionists were very friendly and inviting. The locker room area was nice and clean as well as the lounge area. I had my massage with a Rebecca who blew my mind! One of the best massages I had. She asked thoughtful questions and gave me a very personalized experience, noting areas of tension and offering solutions. I will definitely be back! My only complaint was that the lounge area was quite small. I usually enjoy spending time in the lounge before and after a massage to read, but it's a little tight and awkward when there are other people in such a small space. read more

Honestly, I was hoping to not write this review. I much prefer to engage with businesses directly, but, unfortunately, it has been a month since my service and I haven't heard from Spavia after talking about my experience with both the front desk clerk and responding to the post-service survey. My husband booked me a mother's day massage at Spavia for June 2024. I was looking forward to the massage as I don't get them very often and it ended up being the worst spa/massage experience of my life. My "masseuse" was late to my appointment and abruptly ended my massage right at what would have been the 60 minutes. She wore air pods during the massage and it was so loud that I could hear her podcast throughout the whole appointment. It completely overwhelmed the ambient music in the room. The massage itself was absolutely horrible and painful and I ended up crying during the massage. She did lighten the pressure once I flinched/asked for a lighter pressure. She then told me it was my fault because I'm "getting a hump" and if I had better posture it wouldn't hurt. Mind you, I am a new mom. Commenting on my physical body in such a way was extremely painful and hurtful and I immediately wanted the massage to end. I'm crying as I write this when I reflect back on the experience. Once it was miraculously over, I spoke with the front desk clerk and she was gracious enough to off a discount since the service was so poor, which was nice, but definitely not what I was looking for. She offered a different masseuse for the future, but I truly can't imagine walking back into the "spa" after such a horrendous experience. Spavia isn't any cheaper than comparable spas, but I would never spend that kind of money again to end up sobbing and so severely disappointed. I think if you're looking for a quick 'get in, get out' type of experience, then Spavia may be for you. I am so sad that my experience was so terrible. read more

She was an absolute expert in deciphering what I needed based on our pre massage discussions. It was both relaxing and medicinal. Every detail is perfect. Even the sheets and blankets are dreamy. The pre massage questionnaire notes your fragrance preferences, your massage goals, even if you like any talking during your massage! My sister gifted my hubby and I groupons to this place. Great find! My husband raved about his massage with Kyle. He occasionally suffers from knots, that I try to amateurishly massage away. He said while he felt intense pain during the massage, but the following tension release was amazing. He liked it so much, he is contemplating the membership. And, Kyle also advised him on stretches that he can continue to do. Very professional and excellent massage. I haven't had a facial in almost 2 yrs so I decided to do that. I got Shanandara and she was absolutely commendable. Let's just start with her voice. God bless, her calming voice was the first step to relaxation. She was friendly and her facial was so relaxing, even during extraction, I kept passing out from the tranquility of the experience. I went with the Vitamin C one and I was glowing for the whole day. According to my husband, I looked liked Edward's sister from Twilight! The premier facial package came with the forehead, neck and shoulder massage too. Hot stones were used and it was warm and relaxing. If you are wondering which facial to get ask them, they will advise you best. I wasn't sure which one to go for and I asked them what each facial was about. I am brown with uneven skin tone so a good vitamin c facial is always my go to. The pre and post care at the place is amazing. You fill out a form before you enter and then you get to relax at a super cozy dimly lit room. I enjoyed tea after my facial with a hot bag on my neck. Amazing, amazing spa experience! Came for a birthday spa day with 5 other people. Everyone was so kind and completely prepared for us to arrive. We were able to use the relaxation room during the entire experience. Complimentary wine, tea, and water. I would've stayed here all day if I could. I love this Spavia location. I've gotten a massage now two different times and both services were fantastic. I never really have any issues booking an appointment (as long as you do it ahead of time). The location is extremely clean and well maintained. All of the staff members I have interacted with are friendly and professional. The relaxation room and bathrooms are perfectly sized and extremely peaceful. I have worked with two different therapist and they both were incredible. I really felt like my tense spots were worked out, but all while having an all over relaxing massage. I've enjoyed every appointment I've had at Spavia. I've had several massages from two different therapists (Tasha and Mariana) and they were all excellent. One of the staff members at the front counter recommended a facial (which I had never had) and I LOVED it. I've now had several facials with Vicky and I adore her. It's so relaxing (not to mention so great for your skin!). I've had the vita-c facial and the pumpkin-peptide facial. Both made my skin glow (and just about made me fall asleep!). Overall, the facility is clean and cozy, but a little small. There is only one shower so if you're getting an appointment at the same time as a couple other people you may have to wait for the shower. The facility includes a waiting lounge, treatment rooms, a locker room with one restroom, one changing room, one shower, and a small space with lockers and a sink/mirror. I wish they had a steam room and/or sauna to make it the best experience. read more
