We take both of our dogs here. They always ask how we want the cut. The first time I brought my elderly dog I wasn't sure what I wanted for him. His groomer asked if I wanted it "like my other kid". Everyone working here is super sweet and I've been happy with every cut so far and I love the self dog wash. read more

Under new ownership and new owner was extremely rude. They have a new policy in a $20 late fee if over 1 hour pickup that they do not inform customers about. I was in work meetings when my dog was ready and was 15 min late in picking him up. Talked to the owner and she said that was my fault for not reading the fine print. I like the groomer but the new owner and the new front door staff are so rude that I will not be coming back. I would have appreciated being told about this new late fee when booking or dropping off. They don't seem to care to have a good relationship with customers. read more

I've brought my dogs here several times, and while the groomers are absolutely wonderful, kind, talented, and professional -- the front desk experience has unfortunately been incredibly disappointing. During my most recent visit today, I brought in my three dogs (while pregnant) and was met with an attitude from the moment I arrived. I completely understand that vaccine records are required, but I wasn't informed when booking that I needed to bring the physical paperwork. When I asked how to provide proof, the response felt dismissive rather than helpful. For me, it wasn't about the paperwork -- it was about tone and communication. If this is a new state requirement, it would be great if staff could calmly explain the process or help guide clients through how to access their records. It's unfortunate, because I've brought six dogs here over time and really appreciate the quality of the grooming team. They do an amazing job and are always kind. After reading other reviews, it seems I'm not the only one who's had this kind of experience, and I truly hope management can address it. If you don't mind a rude front desk but want great groomers, this might still be your spot -- but personally, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

My Malamute mix was stunning when I went to pick him up. Soft, silky and smelled amazing. He has a glorious tail, which can be a challenge to comb, it was silky, and I swear, styled. The thing that I like the most was they left the hair between the toes and the pads. They use that hair to protect their feet in the snow so I was glad they didn't clip it too short. They are so bad at answering the phone and the receptionist is always so rude. I have called 4 times within an hour and nobody will pick up. They are open. They have always given us random prices and when we ask for something not to be done, it's gets done anyway and we get charged for it because I don't think the receptionist is communicating that to the groomers. If you do choose to go here I would choose Andrew. He's always been nothing but nice and gives good cuts. There were a few times that my dog had someone else and he had gotten really deep cuts and the last cut with the other guy (not Andrew) got so infected and it was so deep we had to take him to the vet. I'm giving a 3. Normally I would give a 5, but this time, if seems like my groomer didn't take her time with Gizmo. He has parts of his coat that are longer than they should be. Parts that I specifically asked NOT to cut short, are shorter than short. He doesn't even look like the breed he truly is. I'm very disappointed. The Lady up front wasn't nice at all, but I thought "Hey she might just be having a bad day" so I continued. Left my dog there and when I went back to get my dog, they brought him out to me and he wasn't excited to see me like normal. He looked scared. I looked at him and he had small cuts on him. I brought him home and he didn't want to move. He was shaking. He was like that for 4 DAYS!!!!! Then one of my co workers overheard me talking about my experience and she chimes in and says... "Oh I went there and my dog couldn't use his back legs for about 3 day after he went there. He was fine when we brought him in. It's like he was abused or something." I used my SoBiz10.com coupon today on my very hairy and fluffy Australian Shepherd. The full service dog wash, teethbrushing and deshedding spa treatment was needed and needed badly. Before I left my dog, I filled out a form with all of the necessary vet information as she sniffed out the treats near the main counter. The two girls working with me right away turned on the puppy/dog talk. You know how it goes, "Hey puppy wuppy" in that baby voice "Are you ready for your bath?" They treated my girl very well and I could tell they loved what they did. I told them to just call me when my pooch were ready or if they had any problems. Two hours later I received a very polite phone call that they finished. When I stopped in to pick up my dog, they had a great little package ready for me. My dog received her very own personalized certificate with her picture on it "Savannah's First Bath at Spawlash," a Spawlash rewards card, a few refrigerator magnets and the finger toothbrush they used to brush her teeth. The certificate was really cute, it read, "I ruff a day at the spa! A nice warm bath washed away all the dirt I rolled in. As a former groomer I usually wash my dog myself, especially because the few times I've taken her to a shop she was not groomed well at all. My dog is a malamute, so she has a dense double coat, and although she is extremely well behaved, she takes a lot of time. I was hopeful when they did not call to tell me she was ready until almost 4 hours after I dropped her off, and I definitely was not disappointed. First off, she was completely dry, something I cannot say about other shops in the area. They actually did the deshed I had requested, and did it so well she literally looked like she had lost weight. My girl came home so soft and fluffy I cannot wait to save myself time and energy and bring her back to Spawlash for a job extremely well done. read more

GROOMING WORST GROOMING JOB EVER, THEY DO NOT LISTEN!!!....I asked for a schnauzer head cut on my dog... which was already out lined from last grooming ( posted a black n white image of what I wanted on this site and picture of what I got when I picked my dog up) I told him 3 times NO TEDDY BEAR head stuff. Guess What He did exactly what I said not to do. Your groomers need to learn what a schnauzer head cut is, NOT the horrific job your groomer did. If I could give you zero stars I would. There are obvious razor cuts on his hind quarters and stomach, but of course they claim those were "razor burn" !! Make sure you see your dog before you pay. This place should not offer grooming, because they dont preform anything close to the term !!! read more

The girl at the front desk either hates her job or hates her life. For someone so young, she is awfully bitter. Her whole attitude just sucked and that's unfortunate because I was in the middle of a huge dog crisis that included tons of vomit and poop... not fun. Her attitude made things worse and if my poor baby wasn't suffering in excrement and my water was turned off at home, I would have walked out. Thankfully the experience gets better... The owner came to help and offered me a discounted rate after my first wash since I thought I would be washing him several more times that day. We took our 3 big dogs in and it was AMAZING. It's clean. The staff was so nice and so helpful. The tubs are y'all so I didn't hurt my back trying to get them all clean. The soap and conditioners smell so good. My dogs smell clean and fresh. They have dryers that work great before to blow out loose hair. The price was great too. Very dissapointed with our pups last grooming. Never have we ever been shamed for not brushing our dog. She gets unconditional love and attention. She was matted in her legs, yes. But I specified not to shave her down. I was basically told she was going to groom her how she needs to. And that they way I wanted her done she would look foolish. You try to support local businesses. I show up 50 minutes before they close for a quick self wash of a shorthaired dog that was covered in mud and the lady said no because she had to sanitize afterwards and they were going to close. BEWARE!!!!!! The Spawlash in the Thorton location allowed a poor nursing mom doggie to hang itself!!!!! It was left on a grooming table, connected to a leash, UNSUPERVISED!!!! Here is the story below: Honey was a sweet Maltese that had just given birth for the first time to three puppies. After being nursed for about two month, the owner, Jose Martinez, thought it was time to have her cleaned. They scheduled Honey for an appointment at the Spawlash Grooming in Thornton, Colorado. Hours after Honey was dropped off, Mr. Martinez received a call in which he was informed that her beloved pet dog had pass away. The dog had a leash on and somehow fell over the side of the grooming table. She choked herself until she gave her last breath. While Thornton police claim nothing wrong was discovered at the pet grooming saloon, the Department of Agriculture have launched their own investigation. It is obvious that the groomer did not pay sufficient attention to the dog, otherwise this would not have happened. It is clear negligence and someone has to pay for what happened to that sweet mother dog.
