AMAZING! Truly incredible, kind, patient, loving people. I have an incredibly high needs, high emotional dog. She is a rescue who has been working hard in trusting new people. The groomer, Stacy, was SO INCREDIBLE!! I have been driving an hour to keep the same groomer over the past year - I trusted them and they were very kind and gentle with my rescue. I'm not sure who is more anxious to drop off their rescue dog at the groomers.... the dog or myself. Definitely me! They made me feel so comfortable. The groomer came out front to meet us, we sat in the floor to meet and greet and discuss what I was needing. Stacy was so kind and so patient, so loving to my dog! The way she looked at her, spoke to her and told her she loved her... you can tell she is really great with the dogs she works with. When checking out, the staff came to the front of the counter to kneel down and give my dog even more love and comfort. I have been in tears of happiness finding a place that cares for my dog as much as I do. I couldn't be more thankful for Stacy and Urban Dog! If you love dogs, this whole area seems to dedicate themselves to those canine companions of ours. We stopped by during one of their events, and decided to check out their actual store itself. It's a neat little cozy niche of a store, with several smaller business options for food and toys. The ladies there were warm to us, but much warmer to those that brought in dogs. Can't blame them, that's the top spenders right there. A real trouble is the prices overall, they're not too expensive, but those little mark-ups make it harder to buy more during a visit. That nearby brewery helps wash that guilt down, though. read more

Update: changed my review from 3 stars to 1 since Myra wrote me back on here stating that I was never told it would be $50 which is false. I was definitely told it would be $50. If I was told $75 for a dog grooming I would've never made an appointment. She is trying to make my review look wrong by saying that. That really pissed me off. I was going to continue coming there for our dog food, but forget it. Previous review: Unfortunately I'm a little disappointed. Everyone that works here is very, very nice! I just wish they would've given me a heads up that they charge $15 extra for a dog that's not behaving apparently. I took my husky in for her grooming and they told me after the fact that my bill is $75, but was supposed to be $50. I've never been charged for the before. I take her in all the time for grooming. I took my dog to Westminster Hills and promptly looked for a nearby self-service wash after she had too good of a time splashing in the muddy creek. I was happy to find Urban Dogg was only a 7 min drive away. It was super clean and for my dog who hates baths, she didn't struggle once she was in the tub- i credit that to the nice tie-ins and the deep tub that made her feel safe (those details make such a difference). I appreciated that the nozzles had different pressure levels (you'd be surprised how many places I've come across that only have one aggressive spray setting). The shampoos and conditioners are sulfate free, which they tell you about and warn you it won't sud like you might be used to. The towels were clean and we were able to finish the trip with one of the antler treats we purchased by the register. This will be my go-to spot for after park baths when I'm in Westminster! read more

I recently moved from Colorado, but when I lived there, this was mine & my dog's favorite store hands down! The employees Caren & Emily are amazing, so helpful & sweet, very knowledgeable about the products they're selling. You can tell the owner Myra takes pride in her business, I always see her on the floor helping! The groomers were so great & always took such great care of my pup, Koley was his fav! I wish I knew about this place when I first started taking my dog to the off leash dog park near-by. The self-wash stations are amazing and the people are so friendly. My dog was the dirtiest I have ever seen him and we were greeted at the door to walk us back to the tubs. Pretty self explanatory on what to do but they also gave me some tips on how to use the blow dryer and get my very fearful dog used to it. I will definitely be back. read more

BEWARE!!!! We had been customers for many years: grooming, treats, nail trims, toys, food, gifts...We used to see Stephanie (I think that was her name, but I could even mistaken - she was short and wore a camo hat) to groom our Great Pyr and she was awesome. Since Stephanie left we we had to use another groomer at Urban Dogg. The last time we were in the new groomer couldn't do the groom in one session and asked us to come back. We paid in full. Shame on us because life got in the way as it does and it has been a couple months and we tried to "redeem" our half grooming fee and the owner said they wouldn't honor it. I hope stealing that $50 from us was worth it because you just lost a customer for life ...and I'll be sure to tell every person I know to stay as far away from your store as possible. I guess they didn't realize they have new competition literally across the street! Short sighted move. BTW Tim R (FNL) is a moniker and the owner knows exactly who this is...such a BS artist. We used to love Urban Dogg when Stacey was there. The new girl that we had an appointment with totally changed our view of this establishment! Our dog got an ok groom; however, the experience was less than so. When we took her for a walk after her grooming all 4 or her paws were bleeding!!! When we called to let them know, they acted like they didn't believe us .....actually denied that they cut her nails!!!!! The next thing they told us was that they understand why we wouldn't be coming back. Just like someone telling you.," oh well, sorry too bad, see ya. " They were almost rude and not sympathetic about how our dog was in pain. Not a way to run a business. We will NEVER be back there again and will try to let others know of our experience. I took my large dog here and they gave her a beautiful cut. I decided to take my other dog here for a cut. I specifically asked for my dog to not have a poodle/shih tzu cut. The groomer said I don't want to stress her out by dealing with her matted spots, so I will trim her up. My dog now looks like a lion (long face & tail/short body). I'm incredibly frustrated that my dog's cut is the exact opposite I asked for and the fact I had to pay $50 for a shave. If it was too difficult for the groomer to remove her matted spots I rather have been told that and taken her to a groomer with more experience. I would not recommend the grooming part of this shop. Update: the owner called me the next morning in regards to this review. She said sorry and offered me 10% off my next grooming. She explained it was the "humane" thing to do to completely shave my 9 pound dog in the middle of winter instead of trying to remove her matted spots. This was a pup I got from the pound, so yes her fur was not perfect, but again a good brushing or just saying we can't do anything is better than completely shaving my dog. I'm so incredibly frustrated and insulted by her 10% discount on my next grooming. This place not only disregards what you ask for your dog, but could care less about your dog. read more

We've been using Urban Dogg for the last couple of years. Specifically Stacy the groomer. She is the best! Found out they just let go of their best groomer. Stacy lost her home, life, and one of her cats in the Marshall fire. Urban Dogg's owners did ask her, "so when are you coming back, don't you need the money?" Never asked what they could do to help, or if she and her hubby were doing okay. We called to see about cancelling our dogs future appointments since she's no longer there and the woman on the phone damn near hung up before my wife could finish talking. Our experience with Urban Dogg is that when they're done with you, they treat you horribly. They are uncompassionate jerks that forget that we have spent considerable amounts of our money at their business, not the other way around. You just lost your best groomer and our business going forward. Word of advice Urban Dogg, don't keep burning bridges with your clientele, or your talent. You won't be the last business to close your doors due to the belief that you're better than the people who help you to keep your doors open. read more

This is my favorite local dog-focused small business!! They offer natural pet foods and supplies. Reba super loves the bison bones. I love their reasonably priced leashes and toys I take Reba there every time she needs a bath. Their pet shampoo and conditioners are quite nice smelling and eco-friendly. And they have shop vac blow driers so she leaves fluffy and dry. Highly recommend supporting this local shop for all of your pet needs. read more

Disappointed to discover that they are not equipped to deal with strong, resistant dogs. They were not able to complete my dogs' nail trim. I have 2 young labs around 65 lbs. They are sweet dogs, but have a lot of energy and do not like being groomed. That being said, my old groomers in Aurora never reported any issues trimming their nails and even told me that they were "easy." (Granted, I definitely don't think they are easy! But that's why I hire professionals...) After trying for 15 min or so, they brought them back out and preemptively went on the defensive, describing in detail all the ways the dogs resisted their efforts, which I don't doubt, but again, that's why I hired a professional. If they didn't do those things, I would trim them myself. It got awkward when the groomer started speaking on the dogs' behalf in a knowing way, attributing their anxiety to me being pregnant (which I visibly am, but that was not a topic I had brought up with them) and then tried to sell me CBD oil. I'm not against CBD and that hypothesis (although not really presented as such) is definitely plausible, but it felt a little out of bounds. The main thing was that they never acknowledged or apologized for not being able to uphold their end of the bargain and offered no solution. Instead they were happy to charge me full price and even solicited a gratuity. read more

Sadly, will not be back due to death of my last pet. Owner was fantastic in allowing me to return some recently purchased food for a refund vs. their normal policy of store credit only. They have an incredible staff that seems to be dedicated to the pets and the store - it is nice seeing the same faces and rare in retail. I have a cat with specific health needs around food, and over the past 6 months have had to try almost everything they sell at least once (even **GASP** doggie food!) for him. Some have worked out, most have not. I have not had any issues bringing back the ones that have upset his little tummie tum for a different variety. As a cat mom, the only thing that is a bit frustrating is the cat selection has been cut back and I have had to go to other stores to get items they used to carry. I really liked this place. It was very clean, all of the staff was kind and helpful, and they listened to what I had to say. You can tell that the groomer here, Jessica, is obviously experienced and loves animals and will do her best every time. I brought my grandmother's dog, a little yapper, in a while ago, and had a nice experience. Just recently I had to bring in my cat because she rolled in some odd plant and got covered in burrs. She hated the experience, I could hear her crying at some points, but Jessica handled everything very well. Jessica paid close attention to my cat and how she was feeling, talking to her through everything, and keeping her calm. I was really nervous taking my cat to a groomer, I'd never done it before, but I think Jessica really loves all animals like they are her own. We took our 12 month old Golden Retriever to get groomed today for the very first time, although he was a little nervous, our wonderful groomer made sure he was safe and comfortable the entire time. We were very specific with our instructions of what we wanted and the lovely staff made him look perfect! We will not being going anywhere else fir grooming needs. Wow this place is incredible. We needed a last minute groom and they were booked but took our number and name just if there was a cancelation. Three hours later I got a call and they had one and could fit our pup in! The staff was so friendly and considerate and really listened when we gave specifics on how we wanted our pup cut. I just moved from Wyoming and I called all the pet spas in the area and this place was the most impressive over the phone and even more so in person!!! I have taken Hunter, now 2.5 yrs since he was old enough to be groomed, then I rescued Ranger and have taken him as well. As far as being groomed, Ranger has been challenging, to say the least, he is strong as can be at 85 pounds and wiggles hard to get free of being groomed. Jessica has had me bring the two dogs in together to try and comfort Ranger, she has made it work. Jessica does an awesome job!! They were bathed and groomed yesterday and look absolutely stunning!!! This was my first visit and it will not be my last. The staff was absolutely great. Our use the self dog wash and everything that I needed was there and it was very clean. They were very kind to my dog. And I was able to buy a new dog food that's better for my dog then when I was feeding her. And she can even eat it with the minimal amount of teeth she has. read more

Awesome place. We take our dog here as a reward. We get to bathe him in their self serve tubs then treat him to a healthy organic snack. You may think the prices are high but the quality is there. My husband's new dog managed to chew through her new leather collar from here in the 2 minute he left her alone. They exchanged it for another, no questions asked (although we did explain our bewilderment of how easily and quickly she did it!). The next one was faulty and she managed to break out of it twice going after rabbits. Once again, they let us exchange it. We opted for a different closure fixture and this time, it seems to be holding up. The food selection is wonderful. I respect small shops that refuse to sell big name crap like Iams, Purina, etc. There is a decent selection of raw as well. The only complaint we have is the beds are extremely overpriced despite the bed sale sign that seems to be a permanent fixture out front. $110 for a beagle sized bed? My family got a wonderful, Golden Retriever-sized, orthopedic oval bed from Orvis that retailed at well over $100 for $60 or so on sale. read more
