Tonight we went to Spazzio's. We were the first ones there at 5pm. Great quiet atmosphere. Our waiter was Joe. He was wonderful. He answered all our questions & made great suggestions. There were 5 of us. We shared Bruschetta, Calamari, & a side of the polenta for appetizers. Our entrees were: scallops, lobster linguine, chicken Marsala, chicken Piccata, & pappardelle Alfredo. No room for dessert, but Joe did suggest we come back another time just for dessert & coffee. Gina (owner) greeted us on the way out. She was very friendly & welcoming. This is a really cute spot in Arlington. I had a team meeting in the area so brought a larger group. I had been there years before and was glad to see it still around. They have wine corks as decor on the walls. Great idea! They have a large selection of wine and Italian staples on the menu. Great little neighborhood spot. The food was good overall. My salmon was cooked correctly and the risotto was well seasoned. The table also had penne vodka and another pasta dish. Both were good. The service was fast and friendly. Watching the interaction between the server and other guests shows that they have many regulars. Overall a good experience. My only comment is that the restaurant was way too quiet, almost felt like I had to whisper with my party of 3 so the whole restaurant didn't hear us. read more

I can't say enough good things about this quaint neighborhood family owned restaurant. The food was outstanding! I had the scallops with risotto which was a special of the day. One of the best Italian dishes I've ever had. And the service was excellent as well. Gina did a great job making sure we lacked for nothing. This place is AHHHHMAAAZZZIINNGG! The interior is beautiful and cozy. Perfect for a date night. The workers are attentive and friendly. The first time I ordered I got spaghetti and meatballs, it was the best I've ever had including homemade. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the meatballs were delicious. My second go round I ordered chicken alfredo. Lord I wanted to lick the plate clean. And my third time I ordered pepperoni pizza. It was tasty but the pepperoni was salty. I'm glad we came back, because this joint is still a good place to take care of anyone who is jonesing for Italian food in an outstanding atmosphere with excellent service. The food here is beautifully prepared. My eggplant this time was as tender as can be. Calamari is clutch, though there were as many slices of radish as there was breaded calamari. We ate the eggplant and calamari as appetizers and ordered a pizza to go. Oddly, you can order a large pizza to go at dinner time, but they won't bring one to the table. I came here for dinner with a couple of friends and my husband. It was pretty slow for a Saturday night, we were seated right away. This restaurant only serves beer and wine, everyone ordered wine except my husband that had a beer. The place is dark and feels kind of cozy and warm. For appetizer, we had the fried calamari, it was very good. My friend ordered the meatballs, he said they were delicious and I believe him cause they looked really good. I decided to try the Chicken Penne Pesto and it was delicious. My husband had the Gnocchi Bolognese and he wasn't impressed, he said it tasted bland and not fresh, the gnocchi tasted like it was bought not freshly made. Stopped in for a late dinner while on a date. It was perfect for a Monday evening. Not too crowded and we were seated immediately. Our server took our drink orders and gave us a few minutes to peruse the menu. My date went with shrimp fettuccine and I had the classic lasagna. Both came out piping hot. And I must say the shrimp on his dish were succulent and plump and not overcooked which is a rarity these days. The flavors suited both our palates greatly and we enjoyed breaking bread together as we sat for our very first date. It was the perfect evening and we ended up sitting and talking so long that we stayed a little past their closing time. Oops, but our conversation flowed so smoothly. We stopped in for lunch and it was one of he best ideas we've ever had. My husband had the Caesar side salad which was fresh and he said that it was really good. We had the Calamari and it was sooo good. We finished off with the Supreme pizza. The crust was fantastic; just the right amount of crunch. It had just the right amount of cheese. The toppings were excellent with a good ratio to each other. The service was excellent. The waitstaff kept up with drinks and cleared plates as we finished them. Met up with some family from out of town and were pleasantly surprised by this somewhat unassuming restaurant. In a small strip mall it doesn't really stand out. It is worth a stop and the food and service did not disappoint. The portions were well sized for a hungry appetite and everything was cooked well, served nicely, and tasted great. The pasta was made well and the sauces we tried were all very good, including the marinara and Alfredo. For a small restaurant, the service was very good and we felt like we had a personal waiter for our table. The interior was quiet and lit well enough to eat and l, at the same time, was dark enough for a casual dining experience. Turn to yelp again as we were in Texas and didn't know where to eat. This place came up so we turned around on the freeway just to go to it. Did not disappoint. Gina, who is also one of the owners waited on us. she was very friendly and talkative. I liked the ambience because it wasn't too crowded table wise you had room to breathe. Since we were traveling my husband and I shared a Caprese salad and a supreme pizza Yum Yum he was driving so I had a glass of red wine from Italy. We came here the night before to celebrate my daughter's graduation from UTA. We had called a few weeks in advance and made a reservation for 10 people. When we arrived our table was all set up and our waitress extraordinaire, Gina, was ready to serve us. We had to wait a few minutes for the rest of our party to get there, but she didn't skip a beat. Every change was met with a smile and willingness to serve. The restaurant is nicely decorated with wine corks that look very cool. We ordered some apps of calamari and eggplant (omg so good). They brought out delicious homemade rolls and the food was amazing. Everyone liked their dishes and the portions were large. Our drinks were always filled to the brim and empty plates cleared. We couldn't have asked for a better evening. The food, the company, and the staff were amazing. If we lived closer, we'd come all the time. We loved the food - I had shrimp scampi with a side of Caesar salad. My problem was that we asked for glasses of wine and they did not have the wine we ordered; the manager came back and offered us some wine that was not on the menu. We accepted, and she opened the wine. We clarified that we only wanted individual glasses, and she replied that wine was only sold by the bottle. I felt like our arms were twisted. My first time to this wonderful restaurant. Their calamari were the best I've had. Fresh and not over cooked. My chicken picante was excellent and finishing with tiramisu. This dessert was also excellent. Often tiramisu is over soaked with liqueur, but this was perfect. Can't wait to go back! Nice Italian interior and not noisy like so many restaurants today. We ordered the Appetizer sampler- Marinara was very fresh and steaming when it got to the table- I wanted to drink it straight out of the bowl (but that may look a little to forward). Calamari was great- had a fresh lemon dipping sauce, bruschetta was also very fresh- bread was crispy enough that it wasn't at all soggy with the piled high herbs & tomatoes. I wish there was a way to give more stars! I live 3 hours away and some dear friends introduced me to Spazzio's this last weekend. We were visiting Arlington for 4 days and I just had to go back one more time before leaving town. The food is AMAZING! The inside is super welcoming, clean and inviting and the people- they are the most friendly, cheerful and authentic you would ever want to meet. I wish they were closer to me- I would be there every week! Seriously- this place is worth traveling to. Best authentic homemade dishes, best people, best service- these are the places you WANT to spend your money at...because they are family owned, love what they do, know their stuff! I will definately travel there just to have an opportunity to have really amazing food again. There is nothing like it- you just have to try it. My wife and I was in Grand Prairie for the Brett Eldredge Christmas concert and this was close to our hotel and had good Yelp reviews. Spazzio's has super friendly and helpful service. My wife had the chicken Parmesan with a side salad and I had Linguine Pescatore with has shrimp, scallops and mussels. Both our salads were tasty and entrees appeared as we were finishing our salads. My entree was a generous portion of seafood nicely seasoned and a large portion and despite my best effort I required a to go box. Seriously, this place was good but not GREAT. And I ate alone and got only water to drink and my bill was $64!!!!! My entree said $20 on the menu and they charged me $23.50 and I asked for spaghetti with it and they brought me penne and you guys this chicken Parmesan was mediocre at best. Finally, I got a cream brûlée which was honestly awful. It tasted like orange jello. Told them it was not good and they didn't even offer to take it off. And the cost of that was ridiculous as well as the price of the cheese sticks when they were not even hot and melty. The cheese just bit in two.
