Called on a Friday afternoon, looking for 2003-04 Boxster convertible top (roof, glass, frame/mechanism). Bob answered the phone, was uncertain, but went to have a look. Yep, had one on a recent arrival! I had planned to pick it up the next time I was in Sacramento, but Bob said they did deliveries and it'd save me the trouble (plus they are not open on weekends). Price: $100 Good deal, so I accepted... it's a 2.5 hour drive for me to Sacramento, hence 5 hours total roundtrip. $100 is cheap. I asked when it could be delivered. He checked with the staff, since someone needed to have time to remove it from the car. He said Monday afternoon! Pretty quick. After hanging up and paying for the part, I realized I hadn't asked it's condition or color. I had asked if the rear window glass was intact - and it was. The rest I figured I could deal with. Monday afternoon, my wife calls to say the part arrived, and it's in GREAT SHAPE! All my concerns were unnecessary. The delivered roof was much better than the tired top with faded plastic window we had on our car. Spent an afternoon swapping the tops, and it's excellent - it looks so much better then the original roof and functions perfectly. This was a great experience, would definitely do it again. The radiator on my bmw had cracked while commuting to San Jose. I tried calling around to different dealerships and stores in SJ with no luck of finding the part. Stranded a 100 miles away from home, I started calling stores in Rancho knowing that we have lots of recyclers. The guy who helped me at Specialized German was awesome. Not only did he have the part, he did what he could to help me including getting it delivered SAME DAY! Of course I paid for the delivery but in my opinion it was a fair fee for same day 100 miles away. Whoever the guy was earned me as a customer for life. Bought an engine from these guys to replace my blown engine. (F10 M5). At the start the person I delt with was very nice and informative. I knew buying an engine from a junker yard was pretty risky. The man I spoke with put all my worries to the side. Claimed they did some kind of 10 point inspection and that the engines they sell are never bad and always in top condition. So I buy this engine. Spend the money to swap it out. Crank up that bad boy. It runs great! Awesome!! But that was idle and not under any load. We take it off the lift and put it in drive. The thing seizes almost instantly. After some tests we determine the engine is no good. I was disappointed, not really mad. Just disappointed. Spent a good amount of money and lots of time has now gone by, and we are still at square one. I wasn't mad at specialized German, because I'm an understanding guy. I get that maybe they missed the issue with the engine because it was buried deep inside. THIS IS WHERE THE STORY GETS GOOD!!!!!! Honest to God I would have never left this review if it weren't for what happened next. I call in calm as can be., speak to my original rep the cool nice informative guy.. I say.. "hey guys that engine you sold me seized it was no good.. what can you do for me" I kid you not, immediately this guy has the audacity to say "my shop doesn't know what they are doing" and "they must have dropped something inside the engine" and "we know that engine was good." Immediately they tried to distance themselves from any type of responsibility. Honestly was expecting a "oh man that sucks. I'm really sorry to hear that" some type of empathy for my situation. None at all. I ended up talking to maybe three or four different people within the company. All of them rude by the way. Pretty much yelling at me. I'm a customer lol. They are yelling at me! Long story short. I fought with these guys for almost a week. My shop found irrefutable evidence that the engine was damaged before we got it (welded and painted over). I DID end up getting my money back for the engine, after fighting with them about it. But lost thousands of dollars in shop hours /fees that this place didn't cover. Saw these guys at Bimmerfest month later. Swear to god if I knew they had been there I would've made a picket signs, and stood outside of their tent the whole day. read more

SMOKING ENGINES SOLD HERE!!!!!!! Between Bad Motors & Rude Employees- STAY AWAY!!!!!! I purchased a Used BMW Motor for $5K that according to the SGR company it was Tested, Cleaned and has unlimited Warranty for Parts. this is stated on their website in writing and no where on their Invoice states this oil is leaky & smoking or bad. At the Time The salesman ( Marko) offered me another expensive Motor over 7K, But i asked for the one at $5000.00 is it Good, tested and under warranty right? He stated that Yes , this will go fast so you need to order ASAP. When I installed the Engine by a approved BMW Auto Service company they noticed it smoked from the Tailpipes. Marko from SGR right away stated "All Motors Smoke from BMW, You need to call Them! for a recall. BMW said No, your so called Vendor should Honor their Warranty. With SGR already trying to blame BMW I disputed the charges right away, since they cant be trusted! Now they are LYING that they verbally said that this motor will leak oil & Smoke!! But Invoice say nothing of this status & website says Tested & Warranted. Why would anyone spend $5K for a bad motor? in addition to spending thousands to Install the engine. I'd give this company no stars if I could. I recently bought a motor for a customer and the customer ended up backing out of the job. I went to return the motor to these guys to get my money back and come to find out they don't do cash refunds not even with a restocking fee. I told the guy this wasn't explained to me before the purchase nor was it posted and the guy pulls a little plack from behind the counter that says no cash refunds. Thats some crooked business practices, also it's 2017 what kind of place doesn't do a cash refund? I wouldn't even have minded paying a restocking fee for the trouble but no these guys run their business that onces they have your money, your not getting it back. I also took pictures of inside the office and outside the office showing they don't have their signs posted saying their return policy. California law states it must be at the door to the business and at each register clearly visible. Now I'm out 650 dollars and stuck with 650 dollars in credit to a place I've never been too but this one time and to a place that has crappy customer service and even worse business practices! I will be contacting the district attorneys consumer affairs office with my pictures and story and will be going from there. I also will not be recommending any of my customers buy from these guys.
