Dr. Mian is a miracle worker! After hearing horror stories about PRK, I dreaded the procedure. But…read morewith the severity of my prescription, it was the only option for laser correction for me. By my one-day post-op I already was 20/20 in one eye and 20/30 in the other. Not even a full month after surgery, I can see as clear (if not clearer) than with contacts/glasses before. And best of all, none of the dreaded side effects of PRK - no glare, halos, dry eyes! I know that it varies from patient to patient how one reacts to any medical procedure. But Dr. Mian not only gave me great results, but was extremely patient talking me through the process before, during, and after to ensure I was comfortable every step of the way and knew what to expect. The staff at the office is top notch and so kind - they even stayed late the day of my surgery when I was worried and wanted to go back and have my one eye checked. He's also done cataract surgery for my grandma and my aunt, both very successful as well. If you're looking for a well-rounded eye expert for any type of procedure, I urge you to go see Dr. Mian - he is worth every penny!

He's got a great way with patients, explaining things clearly and setting expectations appropriately. The testing was thorough and complete and the office is extremely well run. You get in almost immediately and usually don't have to wait long (Except when you are having surgery, then you may have to wait from time to time). I highly recommend Dr. Mian and the Kellogg Eye Institute.

After…read moreretiring early and no longer receiving vision benefits I called to see what they charged out of pocket for an eye exam. I told the person answering the phone who I was, my current lack of insurance and asked what they charged. She told me that if I was an AARP member I could get the exam for $59. I went ahead and joined AARP, went to my exam and when found out that I had cataracts. I knew that this was my situation as I was told that they were starting 3 years ago at my exam. All of this should have been in my chart as I was a long term patient. Went to check out and I wanted to process through the AARP. They insisted I needed to run it through my BCBS Medical deductible plan which I knew I would end up paying out of pocket as I had not met my deductible. Today I received the bill from them for $141.57 for the eye exam. When I called to discuss the situation, Karen in billing was not at all helpful, but she was rude and condescending. So much for shopping "local". I will be taking my money elsewhere.

I've had those done at Meijer and the glasses made me woozy. Never had that problem here. You will pay more than at other places, but for the service and quality, worth it.

The only thing that overshadowed the disgusting filth of the carpet is how angry, unprofessional, and incredibly incompetent she is. She was demeaning and verbally abusive, and that was just for starters. I have worked in healthcare my entire career (30+ years) and have never encountered such incompetence, hostility, and abuse toward patients. I have no idea how she made it through medical school or keeps her license as she is literally seething anger and hate out of every pore. If she gets sued it will be years overdue.

My mother was diagnosed with hypertension and I as a Family nurse practitioner asked why they made the decision they did to give her a medication that was not the standard of care for a black women. The front desk staff all the way to the doctors were rude, and unprofessional-not only with my mother but with me as well. Today, my mother called to give a fax number so that she could get her referral faxed over for a procedure that is needed and Dr. Patrias was rude to my mother. She asked her "what do you need?" my mother processed to tell her and she told my mother that my mother needed to respect/or be nice to her, because she was the the doctor. It doesn't matter your title. If you are that self absorbed by titles, then that is another problem within itself. I agree with others she is verbally abusive towards patients, angry, demeaning and seems to have the GOD complex.
