Mike from specialty towing is the one that patrols promenade Terrance apartments off of mc kinley in Corona. I was moving things into my friends new apartment and cleaning it as it got broken into for the past 3 days as no one was home. They broke A window and the front and garage door to get in. Mike thought I left My work van parked in front of the garage and as I was inside my van he comes up trying to tow my van as soon as he sees me open the door he takes off fast didn't even bother to talk to me. I followed him and he was already towing another vehicle that was parked in front of someonea garage. I think this is so unprofessional of the management of the complex and the towing company trying to take advantage of people while there not looking luckily I was in my van if not my work van would have been taken in seconds without me knowing while I was inside the apartment cleaning of the mess squatters made in the apartment. Such a lousy company trying to take advantage of people especially in this pandemic. now someone has to wake up to there car taken while it was parked in front of there garage and now they have to pay hundreds of dollars we don't have just to take the car out of impound. Left my car in front of my house where it's marked red for a very small amount of time because there's barely any parking around my street and my car gets towed almost instantly .... the security saw my sister at the window and urged the tow driver to hurry and leave with my car !! Not even a knock on the door where I literally just entered to give a warning... once my sister told me I ran out and both the tow guy and security rushed into their cars and drove away so fast hahaha .... now I have to pay 300 to get my car back all these 1 star reviews make sense read more

And 290 for a towing pmt. we had our newborn and my wife had to get the registration from her car and lucky I stayed bc they said a 7 month year old is on the registration and isn't covered. My wife asked if my husband would could I do with my baby and yahira said u can leave the baby in the car. And wouldn't be able to take the car and they would charge more for the next day. A 7 month year old in the car. This place is a joke and they steal money from people.. they are a complete nightmare . If I could give this place zero stars I would. Very unprofessional. Made a mistake with parking. Called on Sunday and Was told to wait till Monday to avoid a gate fee and reduce fee. Came in Monday to pick up the car and they said because we waited we have to pay a $60 overnight fee. If you need a key out if you locked your car by mistake or just a jump,there is a reason why Hamner Towing has 4 stars...because no matter what they tell you "in our business is not unusual to be unlikable" is BS / Every business should have Customer Service Excellence regardless of the industry. You do not find Customer Service at "Specialty Towing". Even when you give them business they show up like they own entire city, and calls themselves "we work with local PD" - no you dont, local PD gives you work because you suppose to show up and clean for them, you are not employed by PD and you do not own PD PD works very hard, put their life in danger every day for our community, while you guys just drive around and if you have no calls you just pick up random cars. This company is illegally towing vehicles, than damaging the vehicles I had back end damage to my new car they take no fault and clearly lie do not deal with this company a lot of red flags and obviously running a illegal business.. I stayed at my friends which my vehicle is on the guest list to be there go to find out after I pay the $305 for no apparent reason since they had no right towing my vehicle in the first place, I ask for photographs since they claim to take pictures prior mind u it was late at night claim they have high definition cameras uhhh ok!! Unscrupulous! The community I live in hired this company to troll our neighborhood after 11 pm at night. Our experience, I had to move the car out of the drive way, in order for my carpet cleaner to access to my outdoor water spout, into visitor parking. The carpet cleaning occurred late in the day. I forgot to move the car back after the carpets were cleaned. Parking in our community is plentiful. The next day when I went to get my car it was gone. Apparently the old hags that make up the board decided anyone that puts their car in visitor parking deserves to have their car pulled, no caution notice. So...$305 later, because I just forgot. I called the director of our board, Patrica Hicks, and questioned that there might be a kick back situation going on. At this point, she said she'd have to hang up on me. Disrespectful, Irresponsible, and Inhumane.I completely understand that the driver had an obligation to tow the car, yet there is a clear difference between a job to carry out and humane treatment. The owner of the vehicle was present, but the towing driver did not oblige to the presence of the owner while nearly irresponsibly running over the owner as a means of scaring the owner out of the driver's way. It's not a matter of reposition, therefore the driver was obligated to immediately, by state law, DMV California Laws, Section 2B, stating the immediate release of the owners car, even with the owner's presence. Completely dissatisfied with the service, and should consider further training of the employees, and changing institution standards. The second error, the driver made, was that he failed to follow towing standards, as a way to take the car quickly, he did not properly tie the car to the tow, which could've made a huge mess on the car, or even worse caused a giant accident and someone could've gotten hurt. These crooks are in cahoots with Riverwalk HOA in Riverside. They tow sporadically after midnight if your car is parked on the street. On Super Bowl Sunday I left my car at my friends house that lives there to drive my husband home in his car as he met me there but drank too much that night. I got towed. This was after my friend called the HOA to let them know my car would be there all night. Fast forward to the next day at the office of this towing company: $240 to get it out of impound and there were 5, yes 5 other people there that got towed from the same area. Even the gal that worked there that walked me to my car so I could get my registration asked "did you get towed from Riverwalk?" And I said, "yes, isn't everyone in your office here because they parked at Riverwalk?". Her reply was, "we work with other properties too". Work with? Hmmm.... Something is definitely f*cked up here. A friend of mine came to visit me in river walk and parked on the street. I told her about the towing, but to just leave before midnight. Before 11:40 AM HER CAR WAS TOWED. We contacted the office and they stated that cars can't be parked on the streets after 10 PM!! First off, it's BS that they would have a time before 12 AM. Second, there is NOTHING on the streets nor entrance of the community that tells you no street parking specifically at 10 PM (just says overnight guests). AND THIRD, my tenant received a notice from the office, stating no such specific time, but only that guests cannot park overnight. If this isn't f*cked up idk what is. This community and this damn towing company are def working together. I'd tell my friend not to give them a penny, but how else will she get her car back? This towing cars from HOA's is a straight up racket for this POS towing company! They don't tow people in need, the tow cars like thieves in the night!! I just stopped by my house in the Corona Ranch neighborhood @ 9:45 AM, for literally for 15 minutes, to pick up a lunch, and these bastards took the car by the time i walked out at 10:00 AM!! My neighbors car two houses down was still there and the sweeper had come by already! According to the driver, when i picked it up for $240 30 minutes later, he said they only can tow when called by the association. They're all full of shit, from their front office to the Drivers! there was NO call made!! The girl who works in the front claims they have the right to tow any car in our neighborhood after 9:00 AM. She tried to tell me that I was towed at 9 AM!! The towing receipt even shows that the call to the police to inform them of a tow (Which is what ALL towing Co. must do PRIOR to picking up a car from an HOA) shows they called it in at 10:17 AM, AFTER the car was gone already!! I would not even give this company a negative star they were so bad. My car was towed and stored for 1 week until I was able to get the car out. When I went to pay the amount, they wanted to charge me for 10 days instead of 9, which then allowed then to charge a "lien sale" fee, which was an additional $70. They never provided any proof this was done when I asked. I was then told there was no manager present to speak with and the owner was not there either. The woman at the window said "I am in charge, I am the only one here". This company is unethical and uses extortion practices to steal money from people. My wife who's 9 months pregnant had her car stolen. The police found it and took it to this scumbag company. It hadn't been there more than 2 hours and they wanted $210! I understand if they impounded the car or towed it for some parking issue but this is different. As if we weren't violated enough by the thief who stole the car (which, by the way, contained our personal property for our impending overnight stay at the hospital which was also stolen), these criminals needed to profit off our misfortune too. They towed my car and then 4 weeks later knowing I have a parking permit towed it again! The card was in my car and once it fell on the car shifter. The permit was in clear view both times just on seat or fell, but in the car. (when I picked the car up I could clearly see my permit through the window) They blame the patrol company( Patrol One) but I seriously think it's a team operation they got going with the patrol company. Apparently I'm not on the "SAFE LIST" ( probably something you have to pay extra for from the patrol company and you have time to look up a safe list) What a sad and horrible thing to do to a homeowner. They don't care apparently. I understand it's your job to patrol for safety but not automatically tow a car that was permitted to be there. The patrol guy obviously came to my car and put the slip on my window and waited for the tow company....Come on.... The tow company had to hook my car up and looked for "scratches and bumps" So Sad. I guess our HOA is an easy pick up place and that's how they get their quota and split their money. Wow... Can't you just tow people who REALLY don't have a parking permit. I watched one of my neighbors struggle with these guys in the middle of the night. They where trying to tow her car from her assigned parking she pays for because her permit was not visible in the car window. I don't think it's right that they are allowed to come into complexes without being called by the property management. The landlord was standing outside and even though he knows very well that that lady pays for that spot and lives in his building all he could do was shrug his shoulders because they have a contract. Poor lady had to pay them over $100 for them to take their claws off her car after she showed them her lease. I understand it's their job and they are numb to people their situations and reasons but these guys are rude on top of it. I could tell she is a struggling mom and that was probably her grocery money she had to give them. I am currently on bed rest do to a very high risk pregnancy, my husband had taken our children to the store to pick up some items came back and parked in front of out garage. Our garage was open while the car was parked there as he checked on me, unloaded the car and tucked the kids in bed when he went out to move the car it was gone. We called PD and found out that Specialty Tow had called it in and they had towed the car. Upon calling the tow company they told us that yes they had the car and it would be $350 to get the car out and that we would have to wait an hour because it was not even processed yet. Seriously!!!! My husband works for tow company and this is not they way it is supposed to be handled the never should have towed the car with it being in the front of our garage. They tired to say it was in a fire lane which was not the case. They are just out trying to rip people off. We will be filing a claim against them. read more

Specialty Towing company is a pure scam artist in cahoots with Patrol Masters they tow cars in the middle of the night when people are sleeping for no reason. They justify their rate, $385 for a five mile tow by stating these are regulated by CHP. 1st that is the max rate, second CHP does not deal with private communities. They very next night the towed my girlfriends son's car even thou it was also parked legally. This is pure extortion. Complaint being filed with Corona PD as well. All residents in Altia need to warn their guests that they will be towed if vehicle is not listed on the notorious "safe list." read more
