    The bowls we made
    Brian E.

My wife and I did a pottery class where we learned how to work with clay and made bowls. The class was a lot of fun, Matti was a great instructor, directions were clear and easy to follow. Would definitely come back and do this activity again.

This was such a cool experience. The location was clean and the set up was nice! However, the service was awful. The front desk receptionist was rude and had no customer service skills. And our instructor was extremely passive aggressive and VERY judgmental. It was hard to enjoy myself when she was very harsh and critical to everyone's project-- as if we weren't all beginners. I even wanted to take a weekly course but I'll never bring my service back here unfortunately. I don't remember her name but it takes much more than pottery skills to be a good teacher, please hire more friendly instructors that make the course worth it :)

    Work of art!

It was fun and messy for adults! we had glowns with shoe covers on. My painting turned out great with many colors to choose from.

This is such a fun hang out idea! There are so many options to paint and the service is incredible! We had to ask for so many paint changes and fillings but each time she was so helpful and got us what we needed. There is a range of prices for the items, so it's pretty affordable, but it can get pretty expensive. However, I highly recommend!

My best friend and I wanted something new to do and something fun! This was an absolute wonderful place to stop in and visit. We met the owner, Aman/Matti, and assistant(?) artist, Ms. Kelly. Both who were so wonderful and kind! When we arrived it was close to 430 and we took forever to decide what we wanted to do. They have so many items to choose from on the shelves and it was nice to see the prices listed right on the shelving with it. They have a nice selection of colors that you pick out six from and they have no problem providing you other colors or refills on your selected colors. The staff are super helpful and do wonderful work of their own which is so beautiful! If you don't want to do a clay figurine you can do a wall plaque, mosaic, or ornament. Make sure you wear something to keep you warm! It got kind of cold while in there!

We had a group of 6 and we all had a pretty good time. The rest of the ladies decided to paint and I did a mosaic. You can chose from different things to paint and do mosaic on. Prices depend on the item you're choosing. I got to take my mosaic home - they give you instructions for grouting at home. The items you paint you have to leave behind so they can fire it up with the kiln. I think you go back the next weekend to retrieve. All in all it was a good time. I'd definitely recommend.

Took my nephew (4) here for a play date. He had a great time, the owner even took him into the kiln room (they were not on) to explain when would be happening to his dinosaur. A few weeks later I had my birthday party in their semi private space. All 17 ladies had a great time painting their pottery. They have a lot of pre made pottery to select from which is great including seasonal selections, process was super easy. WE WILL BE BACK!

Wonderful place .... simply magical!! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by super friendly staff... April is just delightful and super helpful and if you're a newbie, she takes the time to explain the whole painting process. What I also find great about this place is the super great level of organization. Everything is accounted for. From the paint color tile grids, to the ceramic selections... it all makes sense and is helpful in ones understanding of pottery painting and glaze. They also have wood painting and offer classes and different events throughout the month. And the place itself is huge and spacious. You can easily get lost in painting and the music selection ambiance. A wonderful asset to west Dearborn in general. And a must if you're looking for a relaxing art filled day!

Yet, what was really frustrating was that during the instructions in the beginning, since none of us had been to THIS specific pottery location, there was no mention of a studio fee if we stayed over our reservation time. I have been to multiple pottery painting places (mostly in IN) and this is the first that I was charged for every extra 30 minutes of studio time. (I think it was 30 min) My daughter and I were the last of the party to finish. So, all the other girls had left. The studio was not full at all either. We ended up staying I think an hour or hour and a half past the time everyone else left. Never once was this studio fee mentioned. If I had known I would have left her piece as it was or had her get something smaller in the beginning. Knowing ahead of time would have made me less irritated. I definitely will not be going back specifically because of this studio fee not being mentioned and them having one. Pottery painting is a treat for me personally as it and knowing I'm on a time crunch really ruins the enjoyment of it. The staff were nice enough, and they had a good selection of pieces to choose from as well.

As a novice of woodworking, I was blown-away by the intricate woodwork and finishings throughout the home. The three ladies that lead our tour of the home shared many interesting details about the property, its restoration, and details of Clara and Henry's years at the estate. Many of the restoration stories, like finding a tub for Henry's bathroom or how Clara had a section repainted white were intriguing. Even though much of the home, especially the second floor, is still being restored it was a fascinating experience.

There wasn't much actually open amongst the majestic-looking buildings while I was there, but the picnic area was hopping. The signage was bilingual-in English and Arabic-and what appeared to be a Yemeni wedding seemed to be taking place. The juxtaposition of the estate of an industrialist (or robber baron, or visionary, or racist, depending on your point of view) with a distinctive immigrant community makes for a striking reflection on Americana. The grounds include some gardens, and a lake with a path around it. Access to the river is limited, but it didn't look like that impressive of a river. The greenery is more worthwhile.
