I don't know if there is a basement but the first and second floor are strongly made. There is a beautifully decorated lintel above the front door. The rest of building is done in brick. I cannot tell what stone is used for the window sills. The building looks like it should be busy. There is something functional and powerful about it. Unfortunately it is in a rather lonely place. Though not completely forlorn it just isn't in a high traffic area. The surrounding landscape is made up of one empty tower and several empty parking lots. The school is intended to instruct in business and office technology. I haven't seen anyone near or in the building but I have only visited a few times. It is pleasant to look upon and offers relief to the eye and soul in that windswept portion of the city.

I felt like I should have been taking notes because there are so many amazing facts about honeybees I never knew before. I'll definitely be visiting Bees in the D in person once the coronavirus gets under control. I was so excited to see this virtual event being offered and let me tell you, Brian and Jeff did…read morenot disappoint! From hearing about the story behind where the bees are located to getting into the hive, this virtual event was the bees knees! I must admit that growing up and even still I have been afraid of yellow jackets, as I learned to distinguish. The past couple years as I have learned about honey bees and their near extinction, I found myself losing that fear. Listening to Brian explain all the different kinds of bees in a hive and the difference between bees and wasps really helped ease my fears. I have to say the bee keeper suit is a major perk to the biz if you ask me. It was so neat to see all the stages of the hive as Brian got deeper into each box. I could not believe all the aspects of the hive we were able to see! If I were a bee keeper I would just be out there eating any honey from the first box! I cannot believe there are 30-50 lbs of honey that each hive needs to sustain themselves and how hard they work year around. I too feel like I need 30-50 lbs of honey to keep me going! I loved hearing Brian talk about how different hives have different temperaments. Makes sense but definitely not something I had thought about! I appreciate Brian and Jeff taking the time to educate us all and do it so well. Brian is fantastic! I wish I lived closer so I could attend a honey and mead tasting! The Teachers keep good relationships with the parents and pretty much know everyone even if they're not in that classroom! It is one of the best kindercare's I've ever experienced and they deserve an applause! The only problems are more of a cooperate issue than a problem with the center.

Everything you paid for this program goes completely to waste. They keep all your money. Their creditors for the bootcamp are also THE WORST I've ever dealt with. I've made on time payments, never late once, and they have reported late and missing payments on my credit score not once, but twice! Their mistake is costing me the ability to buy a house! I have a family to take care of! I have been going back and forth with trans union trying to fix this, but I SHOULDN'T have to go through this just for trying to better myself professionally. All the resources that YOU paid for shouldn't be taken away just because you did bad on a test. Yes that's right, all resources provided are taken away if you fail. Even though they keep all your money. After I was done with the bootcamp, I did not give up, and let me also say you can learn SO MUCH MORE by going on YouTube and doing code alongs. Now that's it's been a year, and I've still been coding, I can totally tell you that they PURPOSELY over-complicate the learning process in this bootcamp to make their teaching more sellable. If you still desire to be taught by a teacher, please just do a little searching there are much better bootcamps out there that WONT charge you UNTIL you get a job. Not like this one. And don't even get me started on the staff that was there when I was. Please, do yourself a favor and choose another option to code...yes they've had people who've been successful in getting jobs, but MOST people of every bootcamp will not! And that's the truth. Since completeting my bootcamp, i have the best job of my life and my career is exceeding my grandest expectation. Overall: My experience at grand circus was second to none. Starting with my first "fact finding" phone call with the GC admin staff, I knew that I was dealing with passionate and knowledge individuals who cared about me and helping me achieve my goals. This initial feeling was confirmed and reestablished over and over again throughout my experience with GC. I loved every aspect of my bootcamp experience and would recommend GC to anyone who has any interest in software development. Administrative: Deciding to participate in a 10 week bootcamp was a significant decision for me - not least of all because of the financial aspect. However, as soon as i began discussing the financial piece of the bootcamp i felt immediately at ease. the GC staff were able to answer ALL of my questions and provide my with numerous options specific to my situation. This was a relief and allowed me to focus on coding and getting as much out of the bootcamp as possible. Staff: The GC staff, down to the person, are seriously amazing. They are incredibly passionate, knowledgeable, and supportive. They are always looking out for their students best interest and, again, i felt immediately at ease once I met them on site at Grand Circus in downtown Detroit. The bootcamp: The bootcamp itself was awesome! i loved my instructor, the curriculum, the unique approach to learning to code, the team work, and all of our deliverables. I felt like i was family with my fellow bootcamp teammembers and have remained in close contact with many of them. The pace of the bootcamp was malleable - our instructor and TA adjusted it weekly to match the students' grasp of the material. this was a HUGE value add as it ensued that eveyrone was able to remain engaged in spite of challenging material. Netoworking/job placement: UH-MAZING! Grand Circus is DIRECTLY responsible for helping me find the best job of my life and launch my career in a completely new and exciting direction. The GC staff used their networking contacts to secure me numerous interviews. It was an amazing night where (4) teams of 3-4 artists painted murals to be judged at the conclusion of the night by the crowd. Amazing to see the artists at work. Being that the building and events are sponsored by Red Bull there is always all you can drink Vodka Redbulls (plus a few other selections, miller light, gin & tonic, etc.) Great experience every visit. This is definitely a spot I like to introduce slowly to friends from outside of the city.

Red Bull HoA selects resident artists that rotate…read morethrough the studio, where they focus on producing what they love and then displaying it to the public on Saturdays during the Eastern Market. The building is basically a gentrified warehouse and the first floor is where the residents work. If you go on a Saturday, you can hang out with the resident artists and talk with them as they paint, etc. After that, head downstairs to the gallery. There, completed works are displayed next to a tiny number on a thumb tack that you can use to look up each work's price if you are interested. You can browse the whole gallery in about ten minutes, but the art in invariably outstanding and I highly recommend it. It draws from a lot of College of Creative Studies talent in Detroit, and a lot of the art has contemporary and urban undertones. I've heard that they also throw parties about once a month. I can't go to the one in July, but will update this review as soon as I'm able to attend! Stop by the Red Bull House of Art whenever you are in the Eastern Market!
