In December I had my internet upgraded with Cincinnati Bell Fioptics. My neighborhood was updated…read moreto Fioptics in November and I was contacted by Cincinnati Bell about getting their TV/internet service. All I wanted was better internet as my current service had been inconsistent causing delays with my Netflix service. I was not scheduled until the end of December. It turns out that the fastest way to get a service call on the schedule is to also get the TV service installed at the same time. So I agreed on a trial basis to Fioptics TV. I must admit that the TV service is great and was on promotion for one year. I just did not need or want it. I cancelled the TV service by phone and made my first visit to the store. It was almost Christmas. The store was busy. My wait was less than 5 minutes. The associate was friendly and helpful even when I was caught off guard being told that if I didn't return the remote and power cord also I would be billed an extra $100.00. I promised to do so. Surprisingly on the second visit in January another friendly associate informed me that my account was already credited for them. I was treated great and recommend that you give this location your business. Until next time be kind to each other. #yelpcincy

I came from TWC and can say CB is much better. Better in terms of speed, reliability, value and…read moreoverall functionality. TWC offered 50Mbs down and 5Mbs up and charged more. CB offered 50Mbs down and 10Mbs up. That 10Mbs up makes a huge difference when streaming Netflix. I had nothing but buffering on TWC and have none with CB. All for a lower price. CB's customer service is just like all the rest: clueless and dumb. But the service works well and is very reliable at a much more affordable rate.

I had been with DirecTV for 7 years and hated having to hassle with them every year to lower my…read morebill to a price I was willing to pay. It was the same thing every year, call them up and tell them that my bill was too high and then they would enact some discounts that would save me about $30 a month but were only good for a year. So the next year I'd have to call them up and do it all over again. Well last November when I called to complain about my bill they refused to lower the rate. I guess that now they're a part of AT&T they are unwilling to negotiate on price. So I decided to try switching to DISH. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! DISH suckers you in with their low initial rate but then once you add in extra packages to get what you want it ends up costing MUCH more. I believe their current introductory package starts off at $39. Sounds pretty good right? But wait, you want local channels? Well that's not included. You have to pay an extra $10 a month for that. Who the hell doesn't want local channels?!?! You want a DVR? That's extra also. You have 2 TV's? Yep there's an extra charge for that too. So my monthly bill ended up being $70 a month. That's quite a jump from $39 but still better than I was getting with DirecTV so I decided to go for it. The phone operator told me about the 2 year contract and I told him, "Hey wait a minute. I'm not signing up for 2 years when I haven't even tried your service out yet." I forget what he told me exactly but he definitely gave me the impression that I could cancel if I didn't like the service. When the DISH installer came out to set up my equipment I also asked him about a trial period and he told me I had 30 days to cancel. So everything was going OK until the day of the Super Bowl. We missed the end of the game so I tried to find highlights on ESPN only to find out the package I had did not include ESPN!!!! I called up DISH and was told, "If you want sports channels, that's an extra $10 a month." Gimme a break. What a scam! So now I'd have to pay $80 a month for pretty much basic cable. No pay channels like HBO. I just wanted the standard stuff like Food Network, HGTV, ESPN. So the next higher package was $84 a month and included ESPN but took away DIY and Cooking Channel!!!!! How frickin lame!!! So now I wasn't saving money over DirecTV anymore and decided to cancel the service. I had DISH send out the installer to remove their DISH and take their boxes back. To top it all off now they're trying to charge me a $500 early termination fee even though 2 people at their company told me their was a trial period!! I have filed a complaint with the Denver Better Business Buereau and I will be taking DISH to small claims court if they refuse the waive the fee. Stay far away from this company people. Their channel packages are completely predatory and set up so that the only way you can get the channels you want is to pay for the expensive plans.

They are actively preventing me from cancelling my internet and phone plan. I'm currently in the process of filing a complaint on several websites including the FCC, FTC, and BBB. So confusing, so slow, and so unprofessional. I would recommend going to the one in Florence or Cincinnati instead. I came to cancel my internet service. The worker I encountered had me leaving in tears due to being so rude and inconsiderate. He kept telling me all the things I "should've" done. -I should've checked my bill every month because it would've told me in advance about my bill increase of $25. I don't know about you, but when I have autopay set up, I don't check my bill every month. -I should've come in earlier so he could have given me some money back (well sorry dude, some people have to work). -I should've kept my service until the end of the billing cycle. Again, I thought Spectrum would prorate like any other decent company, but they are out for money, so that was my misunderstanding. This worker then tells me that it's "only" $75, it's not that big of a deal. This is what got me... I am a teacher, $75 is a big deal to me. Yeah I should have done a lot of things, one including NOT signing up for Spectrum. I will not be recommending this business to anyone.

When my husband died they were very kind and understanding when I couldn't find a piece of equipment. When I noticed my bill going up they brought it down which I appreciated. Whenever I call customer service they are friendly and helpful. I am actually looking to move and not that my internet service would keep me from buying but I would be disappointed if I couldn't have them as my internet provider. I did call and gave them the address of where I am considering and they are going to help me get Alta Fiber since it's a new build neighborhood.

They say it's a major outage, but it wasn't. Came back on the middle of the night. Then Tuesday morning, while I'm working from home, it goes out again. Call them. They want to send another technician out but thankfully I've got reliable Spectrum coming out tomorrow to end this travesty. Don't switch. It's not worth. If you want to pay peanuts, then you'll get monkeys. We got monkeys and a whole lot of headaches.
