Functional monopoly in Duluth. Even paying for their highest "tier" package they will throttle your internet during high usage periods. The service quality has gotten so bad in 2026 that I will just be moving to Starlink. I've heard the latency is bad but I cannot imagine it is worse that Spectrum, as Spectrum has become quite literally unusable. read more

Had Spectrum Business internet for $140 per month. Ask if they could lower the price. The agent said no. I called back to cancel and they said they could lower the price to $60 per month. I told them they had their chance on my 4th call to them earlier in the day. The agent then told me that I had to return my equipment back to a UPS store or Spectrum Store ( both are over 60 miles away). When I called the 7th time and pointed out that Spectrum offers a delivered box to send the equipment back, they were happy to send me a return equipment box to my address. I have never dealt with a worse company. it's been over a month since we requested service and we have nothing. They string us along with rescheduled appointments and then don't show up with no call at all. Or they send the wrong kind of team. It's like there is not a single person who knows what our request is and what needs to be done. They just don't care. when you call, you can't get the right person to talk to - they pass you along to someone else and they can't help, say someone will call back and they never do. Nobody there cares about the customer. They are rude and act like the customer is a nuisance.. I am furious at their lack of integrity and horrible customer service. UPDATED: Called to cancel and like magic after 20 mins of waiting Spectrum actually gave me a better deal than YouTubeTV. It's only fir one year but still an even lower cost so for now I'm staying. Just lame we as consumers have to play this cat & mouse game with cable providers. Welp, when I started with Spectrum 4 years ago, my bundled cost was about $140 a month. Now 4 years later even after going from their gold to basic my bill is now $240 a month. I tried 3x to negotiate a lower monthly bill and was told no, so this week now I'm cutting the cable cord, but keeping internet only w/Spectrum and moving to YouTubeTV. I am getting more channels and reducing my bill by $70 a month. That's over $800 a year. So sorry Spectrum, I gave ya a chance but time for this customer to move on... read more

Do not get anything from spectrum they are the worst business ever. My bills are constantly going up with out any notification. Got a bill for 240 from 226 with out notifications. Talked to a Levi at customer service worst service ever unwill to help. They are scam artists. They offer deals for new customers and not customers for 20 years . They never stick to the price that was quoted . They make you obligated to be a customer then adjust your monthly payments to fit there pocket books not the customers . A contract is a contract . Once set it should never ever change especially for a good paying loyal customer . Poor customer relationship and dishonest employees and business managers. If they cannot give you a honest answer and stick to the correct price quoted that's false advertising and they should be held accountable and be involved in a mass lawsuit to collect funds from them to pay to the loyal customers that were ripped off and stole money from them . Spectrum is terrible. Avoid using them. After being a customer since 2004 I had an issue with the date of a seasonal hold. I asked for an email and street address to lodge a complaint. No one would give me the information. I was told I need to do my own research to find the information which is not on the website. Absolutely terrible customer service for a company to not be available to help resolve customer issues other than what is available on chat or first stop phone agents. Don't use them. I was not happy with the length of time it took for Spectrum to get here and and help us. Our service went out last Thursday and they didn,t get here until this Wednesday of the following week.Don,t get me completely wrong; our tech Brady was very, very knowledgeable and personable. horrific business practices that quite literally are only legal at all due to technicalities in legislative wording. this location is one hundred times worse then their previous massively inconvenient location, before you could see a tech almost immediately and now you have to sign in on a tablet and wait- I am not exaggerating at all, even slightly- 45 minutes to an hour to see an employee if there are 2 to 3 people ahead of you. the techs work like there is no hurry, when in fact there is a backlog of 5+ actual hours to push through, because they know for a fact, and are even counting on it, that the customer will give up and have to try again a different day. it takes approximately 10-20 minutes per customer for the most basic, asinine request plus another 10 minutes of computer work on their account PER CUSTOMER before they can call another customer up. this mostly fictional post-customer account computer work is done unbearably slowly on purpose, again because they are counting on you to give up and leave because they know they have no possible way to help customers in a timely fashion with two techs trying to help out literally 23 people in the store at once. you are witnessing another early 2000s-style stereotypical profit-whore mega company that is "too big to fail" failing itself big. in ten years, Charter will be no more unless they make enormous, bankruptcy-inducing changes, mark my words. either way it looks like this is the beginning of their end, either they eventually run out of money or they eventually run out of money read more

A friend in another city told me recently that they are horrible, & now they have proved it to me. There were huge problems when I got the equipment (I live in an old Duluth building, built in 1895 & my property manager offers them as the ONLY option) . . . anyway, at first they did a good job, I could readily get help on the phone. Then the network started having problems & I got help a 2nd time. Anyway, I never watch TV, (I only use the net) so my modem/ router apparently didn't update properly and a technician had to come out and update and fix it. He demanded that I switch from using my resident account at my building to the Spectrum Network connection as it would be "better" and more private. It has been anything but!! It regularly sputters and dies, including when I do online gaming, costing me penalties and lost games. But even worse, they connected me to my printer when the tech was last here, & now it won't reconnect!! So I've spent the past half hour on the phone, no techs available, endless ads, they just treat consumers like cr@p. My friend was right, if you have a choice, AVOID these uncaring, endlessly selling upgrades, clowns!! read more
