For 21 I had in and rarely had an issue ever. They did overcharge me grossly for basic Internet. Now that I'm in Tennessee since August of last year, they have physically been to my place. Inefficient customer service- too few people to keep up with the line of folks waiting to pay bills, drop off equipment or change service. It is actually worse than what it was as TWC, Unfortunately Spectrum won't let you alter services upgrades or changes online so you may be forced to trek in and sit. The presence of a "security" person is somewhat oft-putting as it makes you wonder if they're expecting disturbances - people upset with service perhaps? Also the fact that they're employing a guy to sign people in at the door is a wasted cost that I'm sure gets passed onto the customers. Plan on 30- 60 minutes of your life being lost even before they won't be able to do what you need. Corporate consolidation and a lack of competition ends with overpriced services and no alternatives. Spectrum has been a nightmare since the first phone call I made to set up the service. Most of their employees are completely incompetent and don't know how to listen or to do their job. First, we had a technician come out to set up the internet, he set the router up, and said he couldn't finish the job for some unknown reason and that they'd have to come back on Monday. Our internet was working fine, so the technician was wrong. I then called to cancel our appointment since the internet was working and instead, without my permission, the representative on the phone canceled our entire service. Called back to restart service and they want to charge me a higher price 2 days later, and for something their employees messed up. If you have other internet options, don't use spectrum. read more

We are now 24 hours without internet and cable in our neighborhood and have heard absolutely nothing from Spectrum and have no word on when service will be restored. A one star doesn't even begin to cover all the issues with this company. If they really want feedback, get rid of the robo follow up call when they think things went well. (You don't get one if there's a bad experience). That being said, the issues are many and as the saying goes, it comes down to two things; accountability (supervisors) and communication ( one hand doesn't know what the other is doing) Neither of these seem to have been addressed since the switch to Spectrum. My experience was horrible from the 3 plus hours for the technician to show up late (no notification of this), to the request for a supervisor to contact me to share the issues (no call back). Get rid of your stupid robo series of questions to get to a real person. It's annoying and maddening. I will eagerly await a response from Spectrum to my review and would welcome a call from them to share what happened. Let's just say I'm not holding my breath. read more

Had Spectrum for years. Squirrels kept chewing the lines and every time I would contact customer service I would have to talk to people in India who had no clue what they were doing and only read queue cards until ultimately after being passed around three or four times to ever "higher" levels of tech support, I would be told that a technician would need to be sent out to correct the problem. Having to wait at least 1 and more often 2 weeks for a technician to come repair their damaged lines, it was pretty clear that Spectrum was never going to be worth having. Fortunately, Greenlight entered the market area and we were among the first to sign up for it. For less than half the amount Spectrum charged us, I was able to get Greenlight service with a speed rating 10x what Spectrum provided. After cancelling Spectrum, they suddenly offered us 2x faster service for half the price of the original, but couldn't understand why I refused because 10x faster is still much better than Spectrum. They have continued to call and send people door to door for 2 years now because it appears the entire neighborhood abandoned them for Greenlight. read more

The Flintstones had faster WiFi than what Spectrum can give you. Was paying a ridiculous $85 a month for their "fastest" commercial speed and it still could barely support a device or two. This WiFi is so slow instead of saying the phrase moving slower than molasses we say moving slower than spectrum. Spectrum techs came to my house a handful of times and continued to tell me that the old age of my house was the problem. Just switched to Greenlight and I have never seen such fast internet speeds. So much for it being the "old age" of my house. I'd recommend Greenlight. Spectrum also calls and bugs you weekly trying to get you to sign up for another sh**ty service they provide. read more

Do not use them if possible! This is a review for Spectrum Rochester, New York. They want you to "self install" your equipment. Shouldn't it be part of their job to install their equipment? If they come to your house, they charge you $49. This is so biased against older people or people who do not know how to hook up electronics (a large percentage of people.). Also, the tech that came over did not know what he was doing. He repeatedly called headquarters for instructions and eventually had to give up and send another tech. That tech got the equipment to work, but when I went to use it the next day, it didn't work. Eventually, a relative came over and helped me. The TV still goes out and has to be rebooted sometimes. It also took over a month to get my phone number ported over from my previous service provider because Spectrum wrote the request wrong, and then actually cancelled the request! I was on the phone every other day for an hour. The people on the phone were actually nice, but one tech that came over was really sweaty and could have used a shower. read more

Spectrum has terrible customer service. I called to cancel HBO and the extra channels that it came with. I was transferred 7 times in 42 minutes before they hung up on me. When I called back and asked for a supervisor , the agent suddenly could do it herself. I guarantee it didn't take them over 55 minutes and 8 agents when they signed me up for service. Hi there - my mom went to this location to change the account over to her name because her husband (my dad) recently passed away. The customer service rep was slow, angry, belittling, and accusatory. His name is Errol. He accused her of lying about the death to be able to cancel his cable in spite. When she returned with the death certificate and signed in. He grinned and deleted her name from the cue. Customers began to be called who had come in AFTER her and the customers are the ones who insisted that he take her before them because they saw her sign in. my wifes internet died last week and she was working so i called. i called it in and a tech (christopher ) showed up at 7:30 pm, he was very pleasant, and knowledgeable and explained what he was doing. he checked the outdoor line and discovered a melted connector. he repaired it and got the system running again. he then rechecked the line and told me to call the electric co. because there was very high amps on the line. the electric co. came about 10:30 pm and found a problem with their line which was affecting the internet line and could have be come unsafe. the next a.m. a spectrum tech even did a follow-up to make sure the problem was solved . a 5 star rating to spectrum AND christopher for there good service and repair could not have asked for a better service call. mike a. hilton read more

Never have I received such terrible customer service as I have with time warner cable. Incredibly disappointed and frustrated that they are my only option. The simplest task such as setting up wifi became a week long ordeal. I was on the phone for over two hours and kept being transferred to different centers who just seemed to know less than the last. After the exhausting phone call the only thing they could think to do was to send someone to my home. The person who is supposed to come is now over 15 minutes late after the time window given without any information as to why or a time frame of when they'll be here.
