I am DEAF. It took 3 months of FCC involvement to get the idiots at Spectrum to give me the Emergency Broadband Benefit after multiple approvals. I was approved by their system. I was approved via the FCC b/c: -I receive LifeLine benefits -Income is SSDI -I receive SNAP (food stamps) -I receive both Medicaid & Medicare I filled out their online forms. Then Spectrum played the game for 3 months of pretending they'd never heard of these benefits, did I apply? was I approved? on it went. They called my phone, over & over. I said I am DEAF, stop calling me. It is an Obama phone with limited monthly minutes, for texting and emergencies only. My ex spoke to them 4 or 5 times, all to say, "She was already approved, what are you waiting for?" We had a go back and forth with Monica A. Hernandez, she didn't even know the requirements of the program. And she was their contact supervisor. After the FCC got involved and FORCED these jerks to supply this benefit, my ex moved out, I got my own account. Here it is all over again. Same stupid fools, different day. Because I cannot hear on the phone, I did the Spectrum Live Chat. Sure enough, their uneducated workers had "Never heard of that program," then LIED & stated that the FCC themselves give me the discount. Outrageous! The FCC does not bill Spectrum customers. Spectrum CS insisted that the FCC bills their customers. OK, just think about that for a moment. Totally brainless. I spoke online to several of their employees, then I re-contacted the lady who helped me in the summer - Monica Hernandez. I emailed her the approval from both Spectrum & the EBB website. There is NO DELAY on these benefits for me, none. No back & forth, but Spectrum makes it their business to LIE. Monica Hernandez gave me a ticket #, then nothing. I sent her my approvals. She said, "Thank you, and future references, you will need to CALL the customer care number for further assistance." She was also told I am DEAF. Well I am sorry Monica Hernandez, but did I just ask you to do your JOB? This time around, I went right to the FCC b/c I already dealt with their lying BS. FCC said, "your Ticket No. 1223434 was served on your provider on Dec 16." Which then Spectrum again started CALLING me! I am DEAF. I again did the Live Chat telling them of this. They continue to call. On 12/19 Spectrum emailed, "You may contact us at 920-907-0360." They are NOT waiting on me to send anything, it was already turned in 3 months ago. This has been stated over & over. Imagine my surprise to now receive a letter after I told them STOP CALLING ME. From Tammi Taylor. It says, "Please contact my office directly at the PHONE NUMBER LISTED BELOW at your earliest convenience. It is difficult to provide assistance without speaking with you directly." WHAT? Well that is just too damn bad for Spectrum. They have sent that letter in the mail 3 times, by email 3 times, and emailed me another 15 times that I have to CALL them. They have everything they need for EBB benefit, both from the govt. & their own website. I was approved by them and the FCC. They have done this exact same BS twice now. I am DEAF. They are 100% responsible for any & all REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS REQUESTED. WHICH INCLUDES their own Live Chat. Bonus, Spectrum told the FCC they needed another 2 WEEKS to "investigate" my complaint. There is nothing to investigate. Here's the new email they sent: "The National Lifeline Accountability Database (administered by the Universal Service Administrative Co.) did not approve our request to enroll you into the Affordable Connectivity Program. As a result, we had to close your application. You can re-apply for entry into the program, which will provide you with a credit for your Spectrum Internet service upon approval by the FCC, by following these steps:...." except guess what! The USACo. did NOT refuse to enroll me in these benefits. Spectrum lied again! It's an auto-enrollment if you get LifeLine, which USACo. administer. Yet now Spectrum has blamed the FCC, blamed me, blamed the USACo., all for a $50/month benefit that is paid on my behalf to them so they are not even out any money. Yet here these jerks are, fighting me, the FCC, the State of MI, the Dept. of Justice, and the BBB, MI Civil Rights division, just so they don't have to pay that $50! And that is what you are dealing with using Spectrum. We have no other choices for internet. They are the WORST. My benefit is supposed to be $50, I downgraded my Internet speed so it would be $50/month. Now they are putting me in COLLECTIONS. Go for it. Because once that hits any type of Collections, my lawsuit against this lying, discriminating company will be epic. read more

Literally had the worst experience with Spectrum. They came to set up my wifi and cable and the tech guy was not helpful at all. Installed the wifi and one streaming box and then told me to download their Spectrum app for the rest of the TVs since they are smart TVs and left. I go to download the app and they are not available on any smart TV I have in my home. I was told by the sales rep the day before that all smart TVs have their app and they provide all of the channels we asked about. Literally lied just to make the sale. I had to go buy 6 more streaming boxes from Spectrum and add that to my monthly bill making it 10x more expensive each month. Plus the channels I asked about to have for my children, Spectrum doesn't have at all. When I called their customer service for help and to tell them about my experience/problems they said sorry and then tried to sell me phone services. SORRY BUT NO THANK YOU. I guess I will look into canceling this altogether and moving to just streaming apps that my smart TVs actually have on them. read more

We've had internet for 4 years. Rate increases are ridiculous. You have to call every year and talk with customer service to improve rates - and 75% of them have been rude. They don't do anything until you threaten them. They raise rates any time they want. We recently added the 2 lines Mobilr for $29.99 and there IS a hookup charge that is NOT identified ANYWHERE in their fine print or elsewhere - something like $20 or $30. Surprise! After we signed up for the 2 mobile lines for a year, they immediately increased our internet rate to $88/month - insane! But we have a discount that I beg for every year. They have absolutely ZERO respect for loyal customers and customer service is the rudest I have ever been treated. Expect to be on the line for 2 hours a year and make several threats before they will accommodate you - IF they will help. BTW - Service is great, but not sure it is worth the hassle!!! read more

Before signing up, Read everything. I cancelled and was charged full rate (no prorate). My billing cycle started 2 days before I cancelled, and I was charged the full rate. Also, charged twice in 1 year. From August to April, my bill went up 40 dollars. Never heard of that before. Don't trust the company. read more

*1st we were trying to install a new WiFi router. Because we were grand-fathered in with a Legacy TimeWarner account, we were told that we could upgrade to Spectrum & the router should work. I asked the 3 people I spoke with if my channels would change at all. All 3 promised me that I would have the same channels I have had ... of course I did not! I had to call back & talk with several people before I found one who was able to get me the full tier channel pkg that they had taken away, for just a little more than the original price I was quoted. *2nd Was wanting to switch our 5 mobile lines to Spectrum from AT&T. The contract on a watch with AT&T was not over until Feb. 2nd. I spoke with 2 people at Spectrum who said I could order the 2 devices (which we had to because our iPhone 7s weren't compatible) & 3 SIMs now (Jan. 23rd) because the 14 day trial time wouldn't start until we activated the devices/lines. Also said it would not cost me anything if I canceled within the 14 day trial period. WRONG!! The email & shipping receipt stated that the 14 days started when the order shipped! So my 14 day trial started Jan. 24th. When we activate the lines on Feb. 2 we will have FOUR days of a trial to see if we like the service. Also, I opened my phone box to see my new phone & make sure it wasn't damaged. Now if we cancel the trial/service I will owe a $50 restocking fee per device because the box was opened!! Even if we had the full 14 days, if we didn't like it & cancelled we would owe $100 in restocking fees!!! Called Spectrum & was pretty much told 'Sorry you were given the wrong info, but we can't extend your trial period & you will have to pay the restocking fees!!!! Feel lied to!! I recently moved into a new home, When I received my first bill I noticed that it had gone up over $20. I called spectrum and they said that they informed me of the rate increase due to it being a promotional rate. I looked over my current and previous bills and was unable to find where this was stated. After a few minutes of arguing, they finally credited my account. Unfortunately, they are the only internet service in our area so I am stuck with them. If you can find a better internet provider I suggest you go with them. Stay away from spectrum. read more

So aggravated, I come home to my yard and landscaping is tore up for the fourth time and spectrum cable saying it will never happen again for a forth time. I should be able to sue them for my aggravation, damages and my time on the phone over the last two months. Plus having to be here or they won't repair all, I found out after the first time it was repaired. Horrible company. Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing obviously. I contacted Novi city hall also since, they give them the right aways where to work. They told me the first time they have trucks with a longer reach, but no ones reading the notes. Easier to drive all over my lawn and landscape with no regards to my property. If you drive down 10 mile I'm the house with the large spool trailer on my grass in front of city hall, with groves in the lawn and landscaping damage for a 4 th time. Don't do it!!! Run, don't walk away. Spectrum has terrible customer service. When you call you reach associates in Canada, Texas, areas very far from where you are. When an associate quotes you a price, it is often incorrect. In my case, service was disconnected and I spent over two hours trying to reconnect - not kidding - over two hours. I tried to get internet only with BrightHouse because they are significantly cheaper than competitors. However, there are several reasons why they're cheaper. The sales rep I talked to, Ray, was very helpful but the experience quickly went downhill. I made a Monday appointment to do the install and, two hours before the scheduled time, I got a confirmation call saying that the appointment was actually scheduled for Tuesday, a day later than I specified. I called customer service and had to explain several times that I wanted to reschedule the installation. "I scheduled for MONDAY and the confirmation says TUESDAY." Apparently, customer service doesn't understand the concept of time. At one point in the conversation they thought that I called the wrong number. I was automatically forwarded by their own network! You think that I prank called a random number in Florida? I looked beyond that and rescheduled for Thursday. The install technician, Richard, called me less than two hours beforehand and said that there was a service outage in the area and it would be out for the next several hours. He could do the install that day but wouldn't be able to test it. If there's no connection when you do the install then what hope is there for having reliable internet months later? I like the prices they offer but, dang, I expect a certain amount of reliability. In review, the sales rep and technician seemed good and know what they are doing. Terrible service! For our neighborhood, they are the defacto monopoly. Their service provides less than half of the speed they guarantee. When they upgraded their base plan speed services, they did not roll it out to existing customers and will only update you if you pay more than what they are offering on their website. They originally offered a *special* base plan/speed, but when the special expired, the price went up to their new pricing (which offers twice the speed), but the speed did not. If you wish to obtain the new base plan, customer service stated that I would have to stop services for 3 months before they would offer you the new base plan services at the new speed. Garbage!!! I'm a new customer and I literally had to have them out 5 times to fix their issues. The last time they came out the tech was getting ready to leave without the issues being resolved. He said he had another job to get too and he was here too long even though my job wasn't completed. When I told him to take the equipment with him and cancel my service that's when he spent the additional 5 mins to complete the job!!! Comcast needs to come in my area. I wanted to see what my final bill was and they told me I have to pay for services from Jan 23 - Feb 23 because they don't pro rate bills. We wanted to drop our direct tv so we jumped at the chance when they offered Roku and a faster internet speed. Our internet goes down 3 or more times a day! Only for a few minutes at a time but you can't work from home when the service keeps going down. I called customer service and it was like taking to a 4 year old! They ignored everything I said and just followed the script. They were not helpful at all. Update!!!!! Now we pay more and our service is SLOWER!!!! What a great company! I never thought I would miss Xfinity but I do! Spectrum has the worst service and customer support ever! After spending 4 hours on the phone (I have screen shots to prove it) I was told in order to add a new channel (ID) I would need to pay an extra 50.00 dollars a month. I spoke with a total of 7 people because 4 said that wasn't true (made changes that the said would work) and I still didn't have the channel I wanted. If they think I'm paying 150+ for tv and internet they are crazy! Also they charged me for a router and modem even though I said I already had one. I kept asking the tech what is this extra device your setting up and he kept saying it's included! Wrong I received a bill for an extra 10.00 for a modem and router I never asked for. I live in Redford MI, and Spectrum service is crap. Especially their Wifi connection. When your service is interrupted, they are not going to be honest and let you know their crazy service was out. You have to tell them when it happens even if you are sleep in the middle of the night. We called during pandemic I January about 12:30 am that our service was out. They said because of maintenance it would remain out for hours to work on improvements, because that was the only time they wouldn't disrupt businesses and schools. They only gave about $4 and that was only to those who knew and complained. They will not not give out anything over $10 credit. The service is crappy some days, but they don't give any credit for crappy service. We have the highest speed internet they offer, but when we test how many GHz we're receiving, it's not as much as what we pay for. It really dirty that Redford Township Mi won't allow Xfinity service in Redford. There needs to be a law suit for monopolizing with Spectrum, At&t, and sorry Wow. I believe there is a friend or family connection, or fattening bank accounts of those governing these services in Redford. Xfinity is better than all three companies combined. read more

We had a fire across the street from us on the telephone pole 8 months ago Spectrum still has not come out to put in a new line for us. We have been calling customer service for months on end with nothing being done. Cannot rent movies and are on demand is all pixelated. And they just sent us a notice of raising our rates. read more

We've had Bright House Business Internet since 2006. They clearly do not care about keeping longtime customers happy. About 2 months ago, a neighboring business in our office park moved and the Bright House service techs disabled our service instead. Outage time: 24 hours. Tech told us previous tech disconnected it by accident and that he labeled it this time so it wouldn't happen again. 2 weeks after that, another neighboring business moved, and you guessed it, a tech disconnected us instead. Outage time: 14 hours. Today, after an hour long support call, the rep tells me that there is a statewide outage with phones. (After he reset my voice modem and went through a ton of checks.) Our customers think we've gone out of business when they call and our voicemail doesn't play but instead a message that says something like 'this number is not in service'. We relayed all of these issues to Bright House. Their response? "What do you want me to do about it?" ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????? How does one avoid using Bright House while working in Livonia? If you have an answer, please share. We can't keep doing this. read more

We are new customers and we are getting nothing but the "run around". Our service is terrible, our guide works sporadically, the DVR freezes when we watch movies and the On Demand only works on the first Tuesday of even months! We have had a technician out who couldn't do anything so he put in for a work order for someone to come work on the exterior box (never showed). After three weeks of this nonsense we called again and their solution was to send us a new box. Additionally for our troubles they were removing a $5 rental fee and upgrading us to the Silver Package. Sounds reasonable. One week later, no new DVR box and the Silver package was cancelled. We called again today, and were told the box was never shipped and they "CANT" honor the Silver Package upgrade. So let me get this straight... after 3+ weeks of playing your game Spectrum, we are right back where we started? Terrible service, no sight of a remedy and not a single thing for MY TIME, PATIENCE, and LOYALTY??? read more
