My sister went here 3x to get her phone looked at. Each time a different story. She had a Verizon phone but used spectrum service as a provider. I'm happy to hear she finally got her phone fixed no run around chats. The man randy, explained, fixed her phone reassured her it wasn't a virus told her how to hit the green button to get to settings and he said you Shouldnt have no pop up bad stuff come on your phone. It took 3 visits after being told by the 2nd visit to get a new phone 3 visits later a nice man explained to her how to fix it and what happened. So in business relations the listener at the business is just that he listened and had her learning. Whereas, in past they just said we don't know get a new phone. Experienced employees with patience helps ppl about their phone. All it takes is someone who isn't in a hurry and knows how to do things. read more

I've been with SPECTRUM for over 10+ years since they were called Time Warner cable. I have recently had an unexpected expense and for the first time I was late on my bill although I had called on the 24th to make a payment which I confirmed a number of times with customer service representative and was assured by them that the payment I made Would cover any past due amount and avoid any service interruption. The next day, December 25 Christmas morning, I find out that my service has been shut off. So I call on the next day the 26th and was told that an additional $150 had to be paid before my service could be turned on after speaking with the number of people that number was actually $65, which was the next month's bill, which wasn't even considered late yet, but was promised that once that was paid my service would be reconnected. The same day after payment was made, I was told that my account was actually now closed and I had to reopen a new account at a higher price than I was initially paying. Due to a desperate need because I had family over and my wife and I were babysitting my niece and nephew and promised them a movie night. I agree to sign up for the new SERVICE reluctantly and went to SPECTRUM to return my old equipment and pick up my new modem. At that point, I was then told my account was on hold for five days although I had yet again been assured by Customer Service that if I made this additional payment, my account would be clear and I could resume Services tonight. I feel as though I've been lied to and manipulated And then extremely disgusted that after over 10 years of being a loyal customer and being a month behind due to an unexpected emergency, they manipulated me into making these payments, giving me false promises, and then not providing any answers or any help after my payment was made. I will never use this company again, and I hope that this review will save any other potential people from being treated this way and extorted for their money for such a subpar service to begin with. SPECTRUM should be ashamed of themselves and I hope that finally, since there is emerging competition, they will be forced to answer for their unconscionable business practices. read more

I am currently at the Vestal Spectrum store and witnessed an employee being rude to a gentleman about having to sign in on a tablet before being assisted with paying his bill. I helped this gentleman "check in" on the store tablet for check in. I did not hear the employee offer to help him sign in. She told him he had to sign in and ignored him when he asked " can't I just pay my bill". The gentleman was not familiar with the tablet and it is astounding how a store employee would be rude to someone who wants to give spectrum their money considering that most people who are able to use a tablet or smart phone have opted for streaming. You would get 5 stars if you did not decide to cut off service in the middle of a program I am watching. I do not want to get up and take the time, when it is not convient, to signal you that I am watching. You are providing a SERVICE that I am PAYING for and cutting it off at your whim, is not acceptable. If you're going to do that, you should REBATE a portion, like 90% of the fees that you collect. This is a not a new feature, it is a bug. read more

I have other reviews for Spectrum in Broome County (both of which can be found here, https://bit.ly/3cIBleP, where I last posted in the old Vestal location), and was going to write my update there, but....). So here we go: On the afternoon of March 6, I saw a Spectrum service vehicle parked across the street from our building. I didn't think much of it until my internet service went out. When I called Spectrum and explained, during which time my service turned back on (So it was out for about 5 minutes, but not because I had anything to do with it.) I was told that someone in the building requested service and then the phone was passed to a supervisor/lead. He explained that my service could've gone out because the tech needed to disconnect it to avoid being electrocuted (I'm paraphrasing). But that because they have my paperwork, I wouldn't have to endure my service being shut off and switched to someone else's name. Relieved, I explained my situation, which included needing my internet service for work earlier that morning and needing it again to meet another work deadline a few hours later. Both the phone rep and the supervisor/lead were nice, but still. How is this happening in 2021? Know what I mean? My service absolutely needs to be shut off, even for a few minutes, for someone else? Since the turn of this century, I've had internet service in my name for no fewer than 15 years, and I've NEVER had my stuff just cut off cause "someone said..." or "someone requested..." or "someone needed...". Never. Sorry, but to me, needing to shut off my service for reasons that have nothing to do with me is like saying you can't walk and chew gum at the same time. And in my case at this location, all that ends up happening is the verification of monkey business. The next day, Sunday, was chill. But wouldn't you know that on Monday, March 8th, a different Spectrum service vehicle was parked across the street from our building and my service shut off again? And, like Saturday, I had been using the internet for work purposes (like I needed it for about 5 hours) and needed it again later that evening for professional reasons. So I called again, during which time my service turned back on, and was transferred from an apologetic phone rep to someone in tech. I explained what happened a couple of days prior and what I was told and he explained that if a tech needs to shut off the service it's out of my control. He also confirmed that I could never get a heads up on my service being shut off (which I'd already known....another yelp for Spectrum-Vestal for another time). And this person was as nice as the others from the 6th. But the internet can't be powered by "nice". So that happened about a little over a week ago. And if I have to say more then you are or will be a Spectrum customer who deserves to be out here with service like this, using the internet on a wing and a prayer for academic and/or professional purposes. I totally understand how this place (dare I say upstate NY in general #TalesFromTheOutback) was a source of inspiration for Rod Serling, which has never been my name, so it's time to get outta here. #ByeFelicia read more

The experience of trying to return hardware directly to the Spectrum Store in the Town Square Mall in Vestal, NY was dismal. I signed in with my phone, and immediately, my name appeared on an overhead monitor. I was 9th on the list. Two employees, both young and both miserable, worked the room. Everyone, employees and customers alike, was frustrated. Periodically, the young male employee would saunter to the back room to get something with such exaggerated slowness that I took as an act of protest. The place screamed of horrendous mismanagement. I waited for more than an hour, during which my name moved from 9th place to 7th. At that rate, my wait would take another 3.5 hours, so I gave up and walked out. I could only imagine the heavy-handed, joy sucking managerial practices, combined with corporate unwillingness to hire more staff, that left the place so wretched. read more

There Internet service is terrible. The company manager called because we were down. They said there was nothing wrong on their end. It magically was restored soon after. I have cable TV in my office. I sometimes listed to a program, change channels then return to the original channel. I read a message that station is not available. Try Again Later. They are a joke and they know it, as they say.... its their policy. I got a screamin deal with internet but a few days later service is severely interrupted and I call to bitch. After some bs guy says I need to increase my speed. I hung up and as I can prove they were throttling me down and showed them, my speeds are now above 400 consistently. Probably won't last too long. With the great deal on internet, I thought lets try Mobile service. Wow was that a mistake. I got the free phone which was supposed to be the exact same as my Samsung, but it wasn't so I sent it back, luckily I took some pictures and never told them.......... after being on hold for 45 minutes they come back with all these photos with damage to the phone I sent back. I would say they were working on creating the damage they were going to make me pay for. So now I have to change my bank shit again..... Spectrum is worse then the scammers trying to rob us!!!!!! read more

WiFi is frequently on, off, on off. I used to think snow or rainstorms were the problem. Today the temp is mid 60'd, it's beautiful and sunny. I am using it for personal reasons but it's the same for my friend's company. read more
