Around 4 he was almost right where he should be for his age range. We continued our sessions as we wanted to complete other goals with his speech. I'm so grateful to have Mackenzie as my son's speech therapist. Mackenzie's kindness, resourcefulness and enthusiasm are bar none. Which is probably why my son is always so excited to see her. This has created an environment that has allowed our children to make substantial progress. Where other therapists (or teachers or educational administrators) have pressured us to lower expectations of our children, the professionals at Douglass Speech work to ensure that our kids are able to meet and surpass their goals. Our son's speech and language delays still need help, but I cannot imagine he would have been able to progress as far as he has were it not for the work being done with Douglass Speech.

We have another son, who had a more minor speech issue. She was able to resolve it within a just a few short months and his speech is perfect now. He started out once a week and now twice a week and seen a vast improvement week to week. He was 3.5 when he started and the main reason is he sub his communication skills with hitting, pushing and grabbing. He was frustrated and was not able to express himself to make others understand him. As a parent, I get frustrated too. I am so glad even if it cost me a bundle and the insurance only cover so much or not even cover, but with great results!!! Catherine is a great speech therapist. She works well with young children. And my son loves her dearly and can't wait to see her for his sessions. She also helped increase my son's attention span and listening skills. She uses game to encourage use of language and increase self esteem and confidence. Now my son went from one word to two words phrases to five words phrases and from basically not every verbal to verbose.

I am constantly amazed at the energy level they give to my child. She loves going "to camp". Special education is a rough field. I've seen so many well meaning people who are burnt out.
