We have been part of LA Speech & Language Therapy Center since my daughter was 3 years old, and she is now 23. Over the years, we've worked with many therapists within the organization, and every single one has made a meaningful impact on our journey. We are now in the Adults Employment reediness Group. Were my daughter is working on preparing herself to be able to work. Not only have they supported my daughter's growth, but they've also guided me as a parent helping me navigate some very challenging times with care, patience, and understanding. That kind of support is truly priceless. LA Speech & Language Therapy Center more than just an organization it feels like family. The environment is warm, compassionate, and genuinely focused on each individual's success. Most importantly, they've helped my daughter build confidence and feel comfortable in her own skin and also feel supported and make long lasting friendships and there is absolutely nothing more valuable than that. We joined LA Speech and Language's Preschool for it's summer program. The program was held at the Center for Enriched Education (CEE) and goes up to Kindergarten. Context: My 3-year-old son has a difficult time adjusting to new routines and people. Incredibly shy and wary of strangers, it takes him a long time to engage with teachers and make new friends. He is also prone to extended emotional tantrums and sometimes doesn't have the ability to self-soothe. The staff at CEE is amazing. He bonded with his teachers the first week and made friends on day one! I cried because I have never seen him flourish so fast in a new environment. Having attended 2 preschools prior, it was always a hellacious adjustment. The teachers are truly caring and the kids are so kind to one another. They do a fantastic job of keeping the classrooms clean. This was the first school where I instantly felt my child was SAFE. CEE is truly a hidden treasure in the hills. The only reason we did not continue at CEE for the school year is because we moved to San Diego. I treasure the time spent there, it is truly the best place for a quality preschool/kindergarten education. read more

My son has autism and attending this speech and language center since he was 3 years old. He is now 16 and as independent as any other teenager. The programs LA Speech and Language offers for children at different phases of development no matter the disability are phenomenal. I cannot recommend the LA Speech and Language Center enough! They have helped my son more than any other service he has received since the age of 2.5! The center was the first to get him talking when he had not said a word until he started attending. From there he went to nearly all their Say and Play camps, and later he participated in their young adult work training programs--which was life changing for him. With the help of this center my son has flourished and is now attending university at UC Irvine and I know without the LA Speech and Language Center and all the loving and caring staff this would not have been possible! The LA Speech and Language Therapy Center has changed not only my sons life but the life or our family! I really do not know where my son would be without Dr. Wiley and her amazing staff!! As a mother of an autistic son my husband and I have always worried about Joseph's future but because of Dr. Wiley and her amazing center we no longer have to! My son was 18 when he first started with the center and is now 23. Since beginning with the center Joseph has been part of the centers Employment Readiness Program. This program has given Joseph the opportunity to do internships with AEG (the worlds leading entertainment center) UPS, and Outback. Joseph also went to the centers Ranch for a training program with police officers in regards to responding to law enforcement during traffic stops. Joseph has been to several job fairs and one of those resulted in his first job as a host with Outback Steakhouse. When Joseph was not busy with one of his internships he was receiving training in class. He learned how to create a resume, social skills in social settings, social skills in workplace situations, mock job interviews, received speech therapy and so much more!! Today I am very proud and excited to say that because of the Employment Readiness Program Joseph has been accepted into the Southwest Carpenters Training Program!!! He starts March 7th in Whittier where they will teach Joseph framing, concrete, drywall, interior systems etc!! Each one of our autistic children, young men and women are different and Dr. Wiley and her staff work so hard to make sure that they find the right fit for each one of them! The center is not a business it is a family and the love they have for our children and their parents is overwhelming! I am actually shocked to see a few negative reviews on this site. I do not know what the situation was in each circumstance but I do know that in regards to Angela if you truly knew her you would know that she has a heart of gold. As far as any difficulty getting a return call or it taking a long time to get an appointment that should be your fist indication that this place is a great center and anything good is worth waiting for! As a parent we have to be advocates for our children and persistent in doing whatever we need to do to get them in to a good center. So if you have to wait a month for an appointment or you need to call back more than once then just do it, you will be so happy that you did!! I cannot thank Dr, Wiley, Jamie, Dr. Ashley, Angela and all the others enough for their dedication and their love to my son and our family!! read more

Okay I don't usually write reviews but my daughter will be graduating in the next couple of months and it has been a great experience. Thankfully, my son also attends therapy at this location and we will continue to come for his sessions. The staff is great; everyone is very friendly and informative. My child at 3yo was using two-three word sentences. She didn't give eye contact. We pulled her out of preschool to put her in a 4week Speech Camp with Ms Torcia. I cannot tell you how amazed I was at her growth. Her preschool teachers at were amazed at her growth: in speech and confidence. Then we placed her in a social skills group with Dr Belinda and she continues to grow. I get constant updates and direction as to what we can work on at home. I am constantly amazed at the energy level they give to my child. She loves going "to camp". Special education is a rough field. I've seen so many well meaning people who are burnt out. I'm skeptical when people want to work with my child. LA Speech has renewed my faith. read more

My son started early intervention and speech therapy with speech LA at age 2.5 months , because of covid we had to do his classes online. A week before my son started school Ms. Ilze contacted me to explain the classes and to introduce herself, during this time Ms Ilze has been very patient with my little boy , teaching him through songs and books , she makes the class entertaining for him and has been a great support to me , always there to answer my questions and express my concerns about this whole journey . My son also had classes with MrSaul, who quickly found out what son likes and made the classes all about superheroes , which my son loved!!. Our speech therapist , Ms Nadhiya , has been extremely helpful in my son's journey , teaching me as well to maximize my child's learning everyday outside the classroom, I've learned so much and the progress my son has made is very noticeable. We also work with Mr Jaime , who is there to see my son's progress and gives me great advice so that I can work through any concerns I may have. My son was able to have sessions at the center with Ms Ilze, where they made sure all covid protocols were followed but had to stop again due to the pandemic. In that short time I seen a huge improvement in my son , not only in language but also in his behavior, which I was surprised !! Now that my son is getting ready to end early intervention speech LA has been super helpful , guiding me through the IEP process and preparing me for what's next . The parent trainings with Dr. Ashley on the IEP process have been heaven sent, I learned so much and it couldn't come at a better time. The team my son works with is amazing and I have seen a huge improvement in my son's language, he is fully verbal, talks and has conversations and is improving more and more each day . This place is truly amazing , their staff is amazing and truly care about the children and parents, I'm hoping that after he turns 3 my son can continue to qualify for some services (up to regional center) because the support he gets from this place has been extremely helpful for both of us. read more

Our 2 year old son has been receiving speech therapy services with Gabby for nearly a year and she is phenomenal with him. She's always positive and upbeat even virtually. She engages him by playing with the toys he loves, using a green screen and videos. He's had other therapists who couldn't keep his interest or attention but with Gabby he looks forward to his sessions with her and gets excited. For instance, once she found out he loved Marvel characters she adapted and started teaching him by using the characters he loves. She's knows all their names and has the has the action figures. She's also very thorough with her after visit summaries to me. He's progressed so much and is meeting his milestones thanks to her. Our son is actually sad that he has to move on from her now that he is turning 3. She's a gem and will be missed. read more

Parents, please avoid sending your children here. They are incompetent, devious and have an imbedded culture of lying. The therapist assigned to my son had been pulled out of retirement and clearly had little interest in teaching. She took 7 weeks to prepare a progress report that should have been ready in two. I was told at the four and six week period that it had been taken care of. The disdain they show parents is clearly shown by the actions of the principal, Dr. Wiley who refused to return my calls of concern and deliberately avoided a phone conference I had planned with Angela the co-ordinator. It really upsets me that they so readily took the money for these five months of treatment while providing so little and being mean and ignorant in the face of their obvious neglect of my child. read more

Great place! The staff here is amazing and super friendly. I finally found a home for one of my volunteer spots especially because I've been searching for one while I'm still in school. All the SLPs are so passionate about the children here. They are great mentors. There are always so many fun activities for everyone. The children can participate in a full on musical ( drama Kings and queens). Or classroom settings, with many types of engagement such as sing alongs, watching movies and understanding emotions, yoga, outdoor sports, baking cookies, understand family member names. There is also one one one therapy too. This is a wonderful center with so many options and opportunities! They have several office locations too! You won't be disappointed. read more

My son has been in the social skills program for 10 years, he was extremely shy and a kid of few words, he has always enjoyed interacting with other kids, especially ones who have Autism. He has embraced Autism as being extra special and not ordinary like every1 else. It's not a dirty word in our house. He learned this in social skills as well as emergency skills, importance of speaking up for self,role playing, acting, making small purchases and having high self-esteem, this team has been consistent, and are willing to go over and above for their student. I tried to schedule an evaluation for my son and I could not get the woman who answered the phone to schedule something in August and were in June!! She stated they were busy for summer sessions which I do understand but she was rude and did not try to accommodate and give me an appointment for August once the sessions end. I always think the person answering the phone at any business should be very helpful. This person was terrible and should not be at the front desk. Maybe the staff was great but I'll never know because I would not want to go there :( read more

This place is not professional at all. I keep getting the run around saying that I'll get a call back and I never do nice left messages for supervisors who don't call back. It's no wonder I their own therapist leave their positions without any notice. This place is not about helping the children. I've been trying to get my daughter an appointment for the past month. Leaving massages and requesting call backs and nothing happens. If possible avoid this place. read more

My son as attended LASAL for 8 years and we absolutely love this place!!!! I have never had a problem and they are right on top of everything!! If you have a child with speech delays or need a great social skills program, early intervention you have found the right place! Speech therapist Jessie has helped out my son so much since he began with him. We have noticed a great improvement in his attempt to talk. His previous therapists have had an impact on him too but I feel he connects with my boy more. The entire staff is friendly and all are great to work with. read more

I have been involved with LA Speech and Language Therapy Center for more than five years. My kids have excelled with their programs! The staff are very friendly and pay attention to the family's needs. Dr.Wiley has a great team dedicated to helping kids evolve. When they started they would not speak. After 4 weeks in their program they began forming words. My husband and I were so excited! Introduction of sign language also helped with the blossoming of their language! I love all the staff including Dr. Belinda, Dr.Ashley, Nicole, Nadhiya, Phillip, Angela, Jamie and of course Dr. Wiley. The love you share for my children is appreciated! Thank you always! read more
