My brother in his late 30s had a stroke in Feb 2019 and he needed in-home PT OT ST services to supplement days insurance couldn't cover. We found Matt through a friend Matt took action right away and coordinated everything to get us started. In a matter of 24 hours, I was in touch with his therapists to set up appts. Audrey PT, Najwa ST, and Shar OT have been stellar with decades of experience. He also took the time to visit my brother at home. He's reachable and always addressed any qs we had. The therapists truly care about my brother and that really matters to us. Note - When I deal with vendors, I just want to get to straight to the point including no passive/aggressive behavior (primarily because I respect both our availabilities on the phone) and I appreciate working with Matt. We've been working with LA speech Pathology Services for almost 3 months and we are really happy so far starting from scheduling, flexibility finishing with services. Matt is PHENOMENAL. My daughter (6) could not say and R to save her life and now (7) she corrects herself when she slips, which these days is more and more rare. Also, after a year of therapy (she was a very tough case!) she told me one day that she wanted to stop, so I emailed Matt immediately to give him the heads up. He changed tack and that very same day she came home excitedly telling me about all the fun games they played and that she doesn't want to quit now. ;) Really proud of her work and very satisfied with Matt. I have 3 children receiving services ( SAI, OT, APE, S&L ) with them and their team is amazing. Very supportive and knowledgeable. I can definitely see the progress in my children. They tailor and individualize very single session for each of my children. LA Speech did IEEs for one of my kids to and they did a wonderful job. Very detailed and fully comprehensive. The district hired Emily to provide a baseline concerning speech and language, given the concern that our child had English Language Learner issues versus basic language disorders. Emily's work and consultation were outstanding. All of the suggested goals from the IEE immediately were accepted and incorporated into his current IEP. I wish I could have had an experience like everyone one else but unfortunately mine was nothing like these 5 star reviews. I'll start off with saying Matt is very nice in the beginning. Very attentive and what seems like really trying to find you a therapist. He sent me one lady that unfortunately for me just had twins and only a baby sitter one day a week that was out of town for the next 3 weeks and wasn't sure which one day she would be available to work with me or even the time for that matter... you can see how this lady is obviously not going to work for me or anyone else. When I asked Matt to find me someone else because it's not going to work he basically sends me a rude text message that since it's summer time I'm out of luck and I should sit around and wait for this mother of twins to text me back because she's my best bet... really Matt. Great way to represent the business. Never heard from him or anyone else after that. By the way I live in the valley (Sherman oaks) maybe if you live closer to the City you'll have better luck. read more

My child is bilingual but has struggled for years pronouncing the "r's" and trilled "rr's" correctly. Watching you-tube videos and spending time with a conversational Spanish tutor didn't help. I decided to look into speech pathology and emailed several places regarding this niche need. Matt responded quickly and had a pathologist in mind who was experienced in helping with this problem. Danielle indicated she had worked with other patients in remediating this exact issue, and she was understanding, knowledgable, and insightful. She worked weekly with our child and kept me updated to their progress. After several weeks of short sessions, our child had got it. We are happy and relieved to have solved this problem with Danielle's help. Matt continually checked in with us and Danielle to make sure everything was working out. Matthew and his team are GREAT! We receive speech 2xs a week for an hour each. We have 2 different therapist that work with my son. I feel they genuinely care about him and his progress. Kourtney finds the smallest thing that has his attention that day. Then, will make a session around it. Monica really engages my son and keeps his focus. Thats hard with a 4 year old. Matt Smith is the best investment I have made for my child. As a parent of a 4 y.o. at the time it was difficult to see through the time and financial commitment for therapy 3 times a week while other kids were at play dates and parties. We had seen other speech therapists previously with little results. I can confidently attest that it was all worth it. My daughter averaged 95th percentile overall on her ISEE s and is currently attending a top notch private school, engaged in sports and maintained all As and one B+ in foreign language for which her teacher asked her to appeal to gain honors status in Spanish for next year. Matt Smith is one of the best speech therapists I have ever worked with. I am a Special Education Resource teacher, and I worked alongside Matt on a weekly basis in a shared classroom. Right away, it was easy to establish a professional rapport with Matt. He is knowledgeable, kind, firm and also has a sense of fun that I have never seen with another service provider. He incorporates games, turn-taking, iPad apps, movies and more into his therapy sessions that proved to be very engaging for students from kinder up to 8th grade.
