As others have stayed unique environment and slow service. Arrived 1230 pm for lunch...no fries. Husband had a specialty burger (1/2 lb) he didnt order extra condiments so was pretty bare. Onion rings were tasty but $7. I got the 1/4 burger with fries special for $7.50 subbed with tater tots or home fries. Huge plate of tots but they wern't crispy so very monotonous texture. My burger was probably a 6/10 even thing needed salt/seasoning. It was on the bucket list so for us one and done. The pie and ice cream looked like a better plan. read more

We attended a birthday celebration for my Dad - HAPPY BIRTHDAY . It was close to 8pm and we had yet to eat dinner. I accessed my trusty Yelp! app and did a search for restaurants near by. We decided on going to Speed Trap Diner in Woodville (my first time). If you are like me, and have never been to this establishment before and you are into eclectic scenery, you need to stop in at this place! It has plenty to keep your eyes busy all the while you are there. The eclectic decor is similar to another one of my faves, Tackle Box II located in Fremont. I was like a kid in a candy shop with a pocket full of money snapping pics (as you can see in this review). We ordered the Trailmarker Omelette (breakfast served all day) with hash browns & rye toast, and the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich. Trailmarker Omelette was stuffed full of corned beef hash with onions and peppers with a light coating of melted cheese (yum). The hashbrowns were done to perfection and the lightly buttered rye toast was almost like Texas Toast - nice and thick and tasted so, so good (especially with strawberry preserves or honey)! The Chicken Parmesan sandwich presentation wasn't nearly as much of a statement as the Trailmarker Omelette, but still just as tasty. Needless to say - true Diner food done right. The server was very pleasant, attentive, and quite knowledgeable of the menu offerings as well as the eclectic decor. A total disaster for breakfast today. That moron they have cooking shouldn't be warming up microwave meals let alone cooking at a diner. I got the wrong omelet, my toast or at least i think it was supposed to be toast as I was burnt beyond recognition, by the time they made me what I ordered my husband was done eating , in the end I snd my husband hot into an argument over the fact that he asked for his toast dark and apparently the moron in the kitchen can't decipher as one person wants their bread dark everyone wants it burnt beyond recognition. Deep fried French toast, Mac and cheese, bologna and cheese. Felt like it was 5,000 calories but I saved half for later and was still satisfied. Such a cute unique place! So many different foodies I would love to try, however, it's just a stop on the way to Sandusky for us! Make sure you go in the bathroom l, wish I could see the mens! I had the cake batter chocolate fudge buttercream shake and it was pretty good. My hubby cinnibunny he would get it again, definitely different. We tied the chu somethign sandwich and it tasted a lot like a bunch of sides out together but was pretty good, you need a fork and knife to eat it. Such a fun place! Not a piece of wall that's not covered with vintage posters, bumper stickers, old vinyls, license plates. It's kitschy and funky. The food took 45 mins to come out so not a place to go if you are in a rush. But.... It was very, very good. Solid local place. The burgers are hand formed and 1/2 pound and cooked to order. The speed trap is a fantastic place to eat in any City. Woodville is very lucky to have them there. The service is excellent with a friendly staff and fast service. All the walls are done up in 50s diner car rock and roll amusement memorabilia. The place has a sense of humor and the food is out of this world. Straight off around 66 or 69. I had a interesting burger with a pulled pork on top. The sauce was very spicy and it had spicy cheese to boot. I really liked it. Others had the Disco burger and they thought it was pretty good. My dad is 95 years old and I never see him eat much. But he finished half a 1/2 lb Disco Burger, so I was happy about that. He loved the strawberry rhubarb pie, and especially the flaky crust. I'm going to guess we'll be back although I live in Florida maybe I'll have to take a trip up here just for this restaurant. read more

Hippie Chicken is spicy without burning you up and is delicious. Awesome tater tots, good fries, excellent onion rings! Get your eat on when you order a burger ! Excellent and large! Just a really cool old school diner with awesome ambiance inside, 50's style with 80's glam! Not only did i wait for 45 minutes for my food, But there was a black hair sitting on top of it when it arrived at my table. The waitress did apologize but kept saying to me "we all have our hair tied back so i'm not sure how that happened" My response was "well i have red hair so it definitely is not mine" . She did comp it off the bill which was nice. i ordered something different because i know some restaurants will take it back, Take the hair off, and reserve it. When i wanted to order something different she began to have an attitude with me. Almost like it was an issue that i didnt want to eat that one or have a new one made. We decided to try this diner after driving by several times. Went in on Saturday night, restaurant was about 1/3 full. We ordered shakes and a cuban and burger no pickles. For health reason I don't eat pickles. 35 minutes went by and the sandwiches finally arrived. During the wait no one came by or checked on us. The cuban was bbq pork, not a cuban and the description did not say bbq. My burger had pickles on it . When I brought it to the waitresses attention, she asked me if I could just take them off . NO. She said she would have it made again, no apology. 30 minutes later, my husband is done so we asked for the check. I told the waitress, just cancel the order. She insisted that I eat it in the car or take it home. I am not giving you a tip so I can eat alone and take it to go. I told her no thank you, I wanted to eat here with my husband. She got snotty with me and said.. If you would've been willing to wait we could've gotten that burger up to you. No apology, nothing. She brought the bill and didn't have the drinks on it so we brought it to their attention and waited for the bill to be fixed. One star because you can't give 0. But when you make someones burger wrong theirs should be the first one the cook makes since the customer had already waited for over 30 minutes. This is such a fun place to visit whenever I am in the area. You could spend hours just staring at the walls and taking in all of the decorations. From James Dean to a Supertramp vinyl record, there is plenty to take in while you are waiting for your food. He got around to every table equally in a timely manner. I especially appreciated him refilling my drink even when I hadn't asked! The only negative was the wait. About a 20-30 minute wait for only two meals. Could've been worse (I've had worse) but still not the best. The candy cakes (pancakes) were WAY bigger than I had expected. Fantastic find! This place would not have even been on my radar had it not been for Yelp! My son and I order to of their specialties sandwiches for lunch. I can't remember what they were called, nor can I pronounce it, but one had mac and cheese, fried pickles, and pulled pork. All on a pretzel bun. The other had Mac and cheese with mozzarella cheese sticks. Both sandwiches were delicious! The the decor is pretty neat, too. One of only a few restaurants in Woodville, Ohio, this was a great breakfast out with my family before heading home after spending the weekend together. I ordered a cheese omelette. It was cooked very well, the potatoes were seasoned nicely and it was delicious. There were many versions of an omelette and several other breakfast choices I will try the next time. I appreciate when the decision is difficult. It's a sign of a great menu. The real surprise was the french toast one of the kids ordered at the table - it tasted like a pastry, it had the perfect texture and had the perfect amount of cinnamon. I suppose this is what deep-frying offers to food. It wasn't greasy and didn't need butter or syrup, in my opinion - it was that good all on its own. Parking: large parking lot out front Location: one block from downtown Woodville; just before speed limit turns to 50 leaving town; right after dropping coming into town (hence the name of the venue) Pricing: very affordable Decor: fun, 50's road trip theme in dining area - bathrooms have celebrity themes (I won't spoil the surprise but go wash your hands. We arrived at 4:30 a couple on their bike arrived 15mins after us and six people from the round table came 20mins after us. The server took 25/35 mins before taking our order and bringing our drinks then after waiting an hour n 10mims we got our food AFTER all the locals that arrived after us. If Sam and Jeff still own this place they should school their servers. I would have tipped her a $50 in a small town bcuz I too once served in Elmore at the Village Inn and know how little servers earn but the service was HORRIBLE. The food though WOW FRESH the fries were delicious and fresh. The burger was a tad over cooked and my cheese looked like it was added way after it was ready. We are moving out of the city back to O.H. This month and hope our next visit is better. It must have thrown her off or something is looking like city slickers lol read more
