Historic laundromat -- now even better! My older reviews extolled the virtues of the vintage machines at the old Speedwash Laundromat. For laundry equipment enthusiasts, it was like visiting a real-life museum! But for most people just trying to do their laundry, the wild assortment of strange models wasn't as much fun. That was several years ago. Since then, new owners have transformed this wonderful laundry into something even more fabulous! Exciting, all-new, state-of-the-art equipment has been installed throughout the entire laundromat! The old Speedwash had benches and windows where you could watch the traffic go by, but the new Speedwash is modeled more like a café. Even when you don't have laundry to do, it can be a pleasant place to stop. One thing that hasn't changed is the Speedwash's excellent location. Staff was great. Very helpful. Premises was clean. Clothes were folded nicely and securely packaged. Dropped off at 10:00 got a text to pickup at 12:30 So far, The best I've found on the Cape! read more

The machines are VERY expensive, small machines, like super small are $6.50/wash. Drying is outrageous its $2.00 for 20 minutes, most place charge 25¢ for 4 minutes which would bea $1.25 for 20 minutes, considering most laundry takes 45 minutes to dry properly, it adds up fast. You have to pay a $1.00 for a card (the dollar is added to your balance) and the card may or may not work. The employees are hit or miss, not too helpful. I also think that the hot water on the washing machine is NOT hot! I've put my hand on the door and its lukewarm. I stopped bringing my laundry here, too expensive for lukewarm machines and costly dryers. read more

We were on last leg of road trip and needed to do laundry. Haven't been in laundromat in years so boy was it foreign territory. I know we looked lost, but the very kind and sweet young lady took us basically by the hand and helped us with it all. I started using your laundromat a few months ago. I wash laundry for a family 6 mostly adults every week. I spend usually 30 to 50 a week depending on what we are washing. I was shocked when 2 mins after my drier (2 of the 4) stopped my laundry was removed still wet with no way to finish drying them. I was with my laundry I did not realise the larger driers having never used them pior to this that they would stop before the small drivers. Yes it was my mistake but surely a simple comment before removal would have been courteous it had to have been less then two mins because my laundry was out and the new user loading when I went to check the laundry because of the timer I set for myself. I was sitting in the same hallway if she had commented I would have responded. I have camped all over the country. I have done my laundry in many laundry mats and this was a definite first. I will not be returning. read more

Overall - disappointing. Base pricing is expensive and it goes up from there. There are lots of machines but the space is very tight. Was unable to resolve concerns with the staff directly while I was there. The staff ranged from unhelpful to surly. I'll be back but only to use up the money on the card. read more

The staff of this establishment were very accommodating, efficient and very nice. After an incident with my washing machine, I had a TON of laundry that needed to be done. Speed wash offers wash, dry and folding services and accepted my 249 lbs of laundry with no problem and had it finished in 24 hours. When inquiring about a discount for the excessive amount of laundry, the staff and manager seemed to go out of their way to see if this was possible. Ultimately we said we would pay the normal price as long as they did a good job, and by all means they definitely did. We noticed the establishment has all new machines, magazines to read, vending machines, and what I found to be the best was they have "restaurant style" booths to sit in - which is amazing because we all know how uncomfortable it can be to sit in an laundromat for hours. I was very impressed with all aspects of speed wash and will definitely be back again and refer to people. This business has been completely renovated with all new washers and dryers along with bathroom. No more broken coin machines. They use cards instead of coins.. A really great transformation. The staff is very helpful as well. read more

Love the new renovations! Clean floors, plenty of seating while you wait on your clothes, and brand new machines! I love that you can now use a debit or credit card instead of quarters, just brilliant. Short walk to Dunkin Dougnuts, if you want to nosh while you wait. Don't be fooled by the negative post above--looks like it was written 5 years ago before the owners took over. This facility has been revamped and has all new machines. It is clean, the staff is friendly, and cheaper than the laundromat in Wareham on Cranberry Highway. read more

I use this place every two weeks and I'm considering finding a new place ...EVERY time I go,I go at 6:45 at night. Plenty of time last wash is 7:30. Every single time,the man that works there is rude and rushing customers out the door. Tonight he was trying to pull a rug I was standing on,trying to clean up to leave before 7pm!!! He rudely kept reminding people that they were closing. "We close in 45 min. We close in 40 min. We close in 35 min. We close in 30 min". Yeah,dude we get the point. Here is some free advice. If you hate your job so much that your in a rush to leave EVERY DAY,it's time for a new job!! read more

Speedwash in Buzzard's Bay has been my favorite laundromat in the area, but I am considering finding a new place. First, the staff is great considering the amount of machines that are "out of order" and the numerous malfunctions they have to deal with. They will usually fix your problem or reimburse your cost. Personally, I've had washers that do not fill with enough water to thoroughly clean my clothes, water that is not hot enough, and some machines that do not spin fast enough and leave the clothes too wet. Some of the dryers don't get hot and by the time you figure it out you've wasted a lot of quarters. It's really a crap shoot as to whether or not your machine will perform well and it's especially frustrating when you don't have the time for problems. The cost like everything else has gone up in the past few months. The change from 6 minutes for .25 for the dryers to 5 minutes or the increase in price at the washers would not be so bad if the machines actually worked most of the time. The new dryers are a great improvement but newer and more of the larger washers in the back would be terrific. And please add the pre-wash cycle to the large machines, it's there for a reason. Adding the card system of payment instead of quarters would help. Speedwash is in a convenient location and with a few improvements and new machines could be a lot better. read more

I really like this place. They have added a lot of new machines over the past five or six years. Brand new really large washers went in a few months ago and a wall of new stack dryers this week! They are awesome.This place is still the cheapest around, has great service and is always clean. They also don't recycle their water! Walking in the door, the first impression I get is that the owner truly cares about his business. The outside is charming, and the inside is as clean and convenient as it gets. The location is perfect-seconds away from scenic Buzzards Bay and a short walk from Dunkin Donuts across the street. They provide a TV, a huge selection of magazines and comfortable places to sit. The new machines are efficient and effective, my clothes have never been cleaner. The large tables make folding a breeze. I forgot my detergent one day, but the vending machine dispenses detergent at a low cost so I didn't have to go all the way back home! I got a chance to talk to the staff when I didn't have time to do my own laundry and dropped it off for the wash and fold service. The women who work at Speed Wash are kind and polite, and they did an amazing job. My clothes came back in a perfectly folded cube and smelling like daisies-I'll have to pay extra for them to do my laundry more often because they do a way better job than I do. The prices can't be beat and it makes a huge difference that this business is honest-they weigh clothes after they have been washed and dried, so if you're washing wet towels they charge you for what they weigh when they are dry-not when they weigh half a ton. They can consider me a regular customer for life! read more

I've been doing laundry at Speed Wash for over a year. It has changed 100%. It has a fresh new look . The new owner came in and remodeled the entire place from floor to ceiling and added WiFi. All new machines in all size capacities. From super super large machine's to smaller regular sized ( washer and dryers). The machines are quick most cycles are 25 mins or less. Quick and easy. For the old school'rs out there, there are 2 old top loaders just for you. The prices are good too. While the reno was ongoing I resorted to going to another establishment. When I went back to Speed Wash I was surprised the prices were less than what I had been paying at the other establishment.. Of course for the people who don't have the time to do their own laundry they will do it for you. My grown son is a fan of that. lol I have had a couple issues one with a washer it seems someone had refilled the detergent slot and I had double dose. It was rerun for me at no cost. Another was a dryer acting up I was given a immediate refund. Erin is the go to girl to ask general questions whether it be about the new card system, to giving out a little treat for the younger toddler crowd, who as we know don't have much patience for the laundromat. You can tell who Erin is by her laugh. You can't help yourself but to smile. She has a great attitude towards life in general we all know what a difference that makes. Believe me I'm not a laundry fan, its a necessary evil in my book. I don't mind going now that there is a nice place to go. From what I hear the owner is upgrading he A/C system as well.
