This was actually a fun spot. Lots of tracks and all family-friendly where you can ride as a solo driver or with a passenger. Came in one chilly cloudy day and there was hardly anybody there so we pretty much had the whole track for ourselves although we didn't stay long (got too cold eventually). Just enough time so we can experience two tracks. Everybody had fun - simple rides, no lines, no hassle. Place was kept clean and staff were good that day. A bit pricey but since we don't come here often and it was a time with family then why not. read more

Fun go kart spot attached to Jolly Roger and splash mountain. A little pricey in my opinion but it's ocean city so I guess that's to be expected. Got a 2 hour go kart wristband for $52. Decent amount of tracks and the tracks are pretty long. Kiddo had a great time, and I got to relax in the shade. read more

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT bring your family here during COVID-19. They are NOT wiping down the carts after each rider and when I asked their teenage staff what precautions they were taking the teenage girl in the front told me "I don't know what they're doing out there." After we paid, we go outside and see a BUNCH of teenage boys with no mask on. When I asked if they had something to at least wipe off the steering wheel one of the told me "No you just have to rock out." Like huh? Incredibly dishonest business model. I would not repeat or recommend. I specifically asked the person about the ride my son wanted to ride and was incredibly clear on what I wanted. He sold me a six ride package, and then they would not honor the one ride he wanted. I essentially paid for (4) of the (6) rides at full price and overpaid by $14 for a ride they refused to honor, and then tried to make me pay $12 on top of that. The manager was useless and could not be less inclined to help, and only tried to upsell me and told me she would have to listen to the audio. She was more inclined to tell me how great her employee was as opposed to listening to the customer. Despite being crystal clear on what I wanted, I was lectured for not understanding, and hopefully others read this review and understand you will be taken advantage of and lied to. There are a ton of tracks and we did not have one bad go-kart. Get the two hour package. My family of four went and had Blast. That's a great variety and the lines were nonexistent. We went when it opened at 10am. The only thing Is say to look for is the price. For four people plus the Cyclone track, we paid $185 for two hours. Seems a bit high. Group of 6 of us did one round of Grand Prix. We went again for second round since no one was in line. Before we start, my friend noticed that he lost his phone from the first round, ended up looking and asking other people to check their seats. Then this worker came and started yelling at us wondering why he is not in the kart and buckled up yet. He told him he lost his phone. This workers response was "I don't care it's not my problem". Our visit on 4/24/22 was disappointing. Not all of the go-karts were open. This was not in the website or made known to guests. My child only had one track he could do. When I went in I went to the register and was not greeted by the girl at the register. Finally she asked if I was ready and I was confused because I was under the impression I was waiting on her. Turns out she was on the phone in her Bluetooth during the entire transaction. She literally was speaking to her friend, smacking her gum, and ignored my questions. I wish I had taken that has my sign and walked out then. The men operating the go-karts were very kind. That is the one positive note from the day. read more

Arvey the manager is like a scruffy scrooge who walks around with the gangster limp with his shirt hanging out of his jeans, determined to ensure that his customers spend their money without a care for their satisfaction. The gangster and scruffy attitude is not welcome at a family park. As per previous reviewer, staff up front who spoke very poor English promised one thing which Arvey was unable to deliver on in reality. Waste of time and money. The staff was just lovely. I did the zip line and it was a blast, it was just me and the three young men on staff accompanied me and were very kind and fun and made me feel so comfortable despite the fact that I was flying through the air. The route was long and legit, highly recommended. The go carts were also a lot of fun, also great staff. The formula 1 cars are not part of the package but are worth it if you really want to get you heart pumping. Great experience. read more

Speedworld is definitely a cool spot to check out when you're in Ocean City, MD. It's definitely more fun when you're 18 or older with a valid driver's license because that means you can try your hand at their F1 Time Attack. Basically you due solo runs on their nice smooth track in an open wheeled car with 15 to 18hp. If you can make it below 50seconds then you're pretty good IMO. I've seen some guys talk big on the line waiting to drive but then they were driving like grandmas on the track. Good way to embarrass your friends that talk to much at either of the 5 tracks. It's an old facility and the cars aren't exactly in tip top shape as they get a abused heavily on the tracks but still a fun time none-the-less. For those who want to experience the exceptional handling of an open wheel car, definitely try your hand at the F1 Time Attack track. Overall if you're on vacation it's not that expensive around $45 for 6 to 8 rides? I had a great time and my friends enjoyed it as well. Friendly competition is all. read more

Don't waste money for those under 54 inches. They charged you $40 saying there are several tracks you can get on at 48 inches, but then after we had paid for wristband and tried to get on rides the attendants wouldn't let my child ride. They told us he would't reach the pedal and it wasn't safe. The attendants were nice and just doing what was right, but Jolly Roger shouldn't lie about rides to trick you into paying more. All go karts, all the time. There are plenty of courses to chose from. Some are crappy (more kid friendly, I suppose). The tracks are actually pretty spread out and full of different slopes and turns (unlike some other go kart attractions in Ocean City). The only the thing that really determines how much fun you have is the karts themselves. It's completely random luck. My advice is always try to get the double karts if you are a single rider. Trust me. The race track at the end of Speedworld (if you enter from the arcade and walk from there) has the faster karts. I was going soooooo fast in one I lost my hat and I did not even care. However, like I said... there are some that are fatser than the others because the staff there are weird about maintaining the karts. Some even are low on gas because of how usee up they are and the staff don't feel like filling until fully empty. So there's that. For all tracks, they have a "no bumping" rule and they heavily enforce that rule. They give warnings but still wont hesitate to kick you off the course with no refund. It has never happened to me, I bump other racers all the time though. (: The Miami Drift track does not actually drift at all, just a heads up. In total, there were only 3 courses I enjoyed. The rest kind of suck in my opinion. I probably would have enjoyed 4 in total, but one of the tracks requires that you have a valid driver's license and I think be 18 too. I did not have my license, so make sure you bring yours!!! It's a badass track. Also take advantage of the two parks deal (Splash Mountain water park and Speedworld). If not, they are two separate tickets. It is so worth it to be able to spend the day walking between both. Go early though. Parking is first come, first serve and there are not a whole lot of spaces (the parking lot is for guests wanting to enter the Jolly Roger Amusement Park, Splash Mountain park, and/or Speedworld park). The early bird gets the parking lot spot. Wear sunscreen. Avoid loose articles of clothing (ie: hats, sunglasses). read more

So I have two 16 years old, one big 7 year old, a tiny 8 year old. The kids bought a 2 hour bracelet for $45 each. The first hour the big kids rode with my 7 year old. There are only 3 rides that the big kids repeated for next hour. My 8 year was too skinny to ride by herself9, she didn't care for this park. This park is for 10-15 year olds. If you are over 58 inches, it's more fun. There is one ride you need to have an actual drivers license to rive a real formula 1 car. Shorter or younger ones have to ride with an adult. read more

Recently went to jolly Rogers speedworld. After the girl at the ticket counter assured us that my 8 year old son would be able to drive on 3 of the tracks and ride with adult on the rest we bought 3 2 hour unlimited ride brackets. As we walk thru the park we find that my son can only drive on 1 real track and the other 2 a 4 year old would be bored on, also he could ride with adult on only 2 tracks, leaving 5 he could not go on at all. After finding this out we didn't feel we should have bought a unlimited braclet The issue is the girl at the counter didn't speak good English and there was a miscommunication when we made our purchase but the manager absolutley refused any refund. So to get our money's worth we had to spend 2 hours on the same track. read more

1) Poorly trained staff were not helpful in helping customers choose the right package. 2) Our son was 49" but height apparently is not the only factor; he couldn't reach the pedals but we'd already bought the ride package. They need example cars for the kids to sit in to see if they can actually reach the pedals before you buy a ride package versus passenger. Or have staff advise of this to begin with. 3) Visited on a hot Friday night. Needed water for the kids. All three vending machines in the track areas were empty. One said sold out, one had lights off, the third had lights on and no sign saying otherwise. Change input wouldn't work, credit card did but nothing vended. Dollars went in and nothing vended. and not labeled out of order. Asked the attendant to have someone come over to help get our $ back. She said if she calls, they won't give the money back anyway; she asked that yesterday and was told no. What??! I said well I'd like you to ask again please! She out if frustration gave us $2 from the register and said she'd just leave a note. It's summer. Stuff needs to stay stocked and if it can't be restocked, at least put up an out of order sign so the next person doesn't lose their money. 4) No signs telling you where the kids tracks are. Kid area is not stroller friendly- huge set of steps. Was really looking forward to going here but now I feel like it was just a big rip off overall. Will not be going here again. read more

The speedworld tracks are dangerous and lack proper safety protocols. We witnessed multiple incidents where the employees almost got hurt on several tracks and then my own kids got hurt. They need to train workers better and to have better safety protocols during crashes and having everyone slow down until cleared. The workers had to jump out of way several times. Then the last ride my kids were finished and waiting in cart to disembark and this guest came plowing in at full speed and hit the row of carts with People in them including my kids. I've never witnessed anything like it. I would chalk it up to a dumb guest however the entire night I witnessed horrific safety issues. read more

This place is great! There are several go cart tracks in the complex and the carts are new and super fast! My 11yr old and I rode a few of the tracks while my wife kept my 4yr old completely entertained in the lobby arcade. Everything seemed new, was clean and very well-maintained. My only complaint was that the three girls selling admissions spoke very poor English, so there was a lot of confusion buying a package. They have MANY options and different packages for purchase. But we got the rundown from an attendant one we got in. It's a great time, especially for tweens, teens, and young adults. At least one of the tracks required an actual driver's license. We purchased the points card for our children, to be used at SpeedWorld and the amusement park. They are still young, so unable to ride all of the go-karts, but they enjoyed each that they were able to ride. The prices, which I thought were a little expensive until going to other local go-kart tracks. SpeedWorld was by far cheaper and offered more rides for the younger crowd. The family track was so much fun for them - they were both old/tall enough to ride alone and had a blast. We rode with them on a couple other tracks and then they rode on the kiddie track alone as well. Great way to spend a couple hours - we went during the day and didn't experience much of a crowd. Most of the people in the parking lot were in Splash Mountain. Waits were minimal and the fun was extreme. read more

Waste of money if you're bringing kids. My five-year-old could only ride two rides alone, contrary to what they told us when we bought tickets. I wouldn't let her ride one of those two rides because they didn't provide helmets. We paid $26 and rode on one ride together and she did one kiddie ride by herself. And they don't have maps, so we spent a lot of time wandering around and talking to unhelpful employees. read more

This is a fun place. Price is not bad for the 6 ticket deal. We went on a week night and the courses did have lines. Our group of 4 couldn't ride single go karts on the main track unless we waited for a while so we had to do doubles, which was fine. The F1 track is the real fun. I was one of the only girls in line. Girls, don't let the long line of men scare you! The only downfall about the F1 is that there are only 2 cars available so it's a bit of a wait. And they are serious about fooling around so be careful going around those curves because if you run onto the grass they will end your ride early. If your under 12 and cant go on the big tracks dont go..the 6 tracks for younger riders are basically circles or figure 8s that you get 3 min on..they say dont crash into ppl or your off the course but kids were doing it and not being ejected, my son got his shoulder hurt in someone hitting into him..it started to pour after 3 of our 6 tracks we paid for..we left, big waste of $100!! read more

Visited speedworld on 6/15/19 & will not go back. Suggest other go cart establishments nearby. Most of their carts kept malfunctioning, running out of gas or didn't have enough power to get up any of the hills on the course. My husband had to have his go cart pushed up the first hill to even get it going. The worst was the Cyclone. First, they let to many go carts go on the track at once, second, the carts didn't have enough power to get up the track, third, they kept braking down and worst, there was not enough workers to watch this large track. I saw several teenage "disrespectful brats" do donuts and just ram into the side or back of other carts. I had to go in the exit gate, get the attention of a worker and till him there were several carts on the tract in an "accident" because of the disrespectful kids. They of course did not reprimand or kick off the kids. Several people in our party got whip-lashed very back and bad bruising from the hits from other carts. I told the woman at the counter inside & she was nice & got the manager who was the worst manager I have every met. He basically kept yelling at us like we did something wrong & made me never want to visit this place again. I hope they get law suits to remind them of these issues if they will not address & fix them. read more
