Came here to have a little pool time. The water park is very cute, clean and easy to navigate. Came around 4, they close at 6. It was empty, like I rented out the whole place to myself. They is pretty small but all I wanted to do was float around the lazy river for a few hours. Tried the water slides, they have 2 big ones. Additionally a 2 kiddie pool areas. We've been coming to Thunder Lagoon Waterpark for years, and it's always a great time for the whole family. If you have kids, I highly recommend it! The giant waterslides are a lot of fun, and the lazy river is one of our favorite attractions. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable. Another great feature is the small boardwalk area just a short walk from the waterpark. You can grab funnel cakes, burgers, pizza, hot dogs, french fries, and ice cream, then bring them back into the park to enjoy. It's a convenient option when everyone gets hungry after spending time in the water. Overall, Thunder Lagoon is a fun, family-friendly waterpark that we look forward to visiting year after year. Amazing place for little kids! It's big enough that it has good variety but small enough that it's not overwhelming for the littles. There is a little toddler pool w slides, a bigger kids pool w slides and other fun stuff, a lazy river, and two big slides. It is pricey- we did 2 hours but I would recommend to just pay the little extra and do 4 hours. There is a little snack truck that is also pricey, but across the driveway is other food options. A great little waterpark to bring the kids. Its affordable (and cheaper if you buy multiple passes at a time). My 7yr old son loved the Lazy River and the tube and waterslides, as well as the pirate ship that dumps a deluge of water every 5 minutes. Its not a large place so its good you can leave your stuff in a central location and go from piece to piece of the park. Be aware there are limited shaded spots mostly at tables with Umbrellas. 2 hours is the perfect amount and then there is mini-golf and go-karts and ice cream conveniently located nearby. The employees were friendly and were following health guidelines with markers for social distancing for the lines but given that its outside don't expect people to be wearing their masks religiously. read more

Nice small water park. You pay in 2/4 hr increments ($20 adult/$10 kid for 2 hr) so you don't spend an entire day if u don't want to and it's also affordable. Two water slides - one is an enclosed tube u have to ride an inner tube and the other is open and no tube required. Our five year old did both (48 inches tall). Nice lazy river. Separate baby/kids area as well. Small snack stand and mini golf right next door (separate). Plenty of seating both times I've come and a lot in the shade if you're like me. We loved the waterpark! Price was reasonable for the amount of things to do for the kids. Park was clean and well maintained, we especially loved the long lazy River and the kids enjoyed the many slides. Food prices were reasonable. My only suggestion would be to keep an eye on your lifeguards. One in particular was always sitting with his feet up watching something on his phone, not looking at the water at all. read more

Very rude desk attendant ! Spectators are asked to pay fill admission price. A simple suggestion that a " spectator" rate would be helpful especially for seniors who have visitors throughout the season.I was told " nobody made you come"! A subsequent call to the general manager was somewhat informative as to the reason for policy followed by excuses for the desk attendants behavior. No offer to revisit for a better experience. This is a really cute, kid friendly water park. The hubby accidentally stumbled upon Thunder Lagoon while making a U-Turn to go to Kohr Brothers Ice Cream. They have 2 large slides that the hubby and my older daughter loved. They also have a few smaller slides for younger children along with a Lazy River. There are lifeguards every few feet to make sure that even the littlest swimmers are safe. In the center of the park, there are lounge chairs, sand and a snack bar. Took 13 people here for a fun day... well the guy at the booth to pay was a total jerk. We asked if they honored a military discount and he said of course. Well as we were paying he said we couldn't spoilt yo the discount which would've had been fine if he had said that when we had just asked.. instead he got an attitude and compared a military discount to a senior discount and as we explained it wasn't about the fact that we couldn't get it for everyone it was the fact that he was rude... he did do the discount when we did it as 1 transaction but then went on to tell us that he was going to kick us out if we didn't hurry up and find a table and walk away. I was blown away but how rude he was but we had already paid and had very excited kids who wanted to play. This is a great waterpark for younger kids. We had never taken our 2.5 year old to a waterpark and didn't really know what to expect, but it ended up being a great experience. The day was projected to be extremely hot and I just couldn't imagine us sitting on the beach so we decided to try something different. We arrived right as they were opening and there was already a line of folks waiting to get in. I was happy that they offered a 2 hour pass because I knew we likely wouldn't stay longer and 10am-noon ended up being perfect. There was a large pool about 18" - 24" deep I would guess with a small enclosed slide for little kids, a bunch of squirters, a few objects you could float on and a big ship that would dump water on you every 10 minutes or so. A second smaller pool was more shallow with a mushroom waterfall and a few cute frogs squirting water out of their mouths - this pool also had 2 open slides that our toddler really loved. It was easy for a parent to be at the bottom of the slide if you needed to help your child. The other two features are a nice lazy river and the larger slides for bigger kids. We did put our toddler's puddle jumper on and brought him in the lazy river, which he enjoyed. But most of the time we spent in the areas for smaller kids and on the slides. One of the few negatives is that there are limited shaded areas around the two smaller pools. Experienced people already knew this and made a beeline for some of the picnic tables, which have umbrellas. But we were newbies so we didn't get the memo! There are also some umbrellas around the lazy river, but the location just isn't as central. I felt the price was also a little steep for such a small water park, but to be honest I haven't compared it to other parks so maybe it is the norm. My entire family had so much fun here! I thought it was a good value, even factoring in that spectators pay full price. We had four kids in our party ranging from 4 to 10 years old. They enjoyed every one of the pools and slides. The youngest was just over 42 inches and I thought the lifeguards did a great job of keeping them safe and being attentive. They have a special signal from the top of the big slides to the lifeguard in the pool at the bottom to let the guard there know a smaller child is coming down. There is a 40-something year old blonde lifeguard who behaves like a militant law enforcer, thus ruining any possibility for anyone to have fun at this establishment. She incessantly blows her whistle at people and approaches people to scold them. This person has an inflated opinion of the importance of her job. I am not objecting to telling children to walk or practice other safety measures. The inappropriate behavior by this woman is the harassment of adults - constantly blowing her whistle and scolding customers in their 40s -50s for entering the pool at locations other than the stairs. The pool is only 3 feet deep!! If the business really is apoplectic about adults entering the pool at locations other than the stairs, then they need to install stairs at more locations along the lazy river, DUH! There is a lovely gentleman lifeguard (in his 40s-50) whose nice personality enhanced the experience. However, keeping this rotten woman employed there is a gross miscalculation by the business, since harassing the parents means no one will ever want to take their children back there. The slide is not that good anyway. There is a much better one in Ocean City. read more

We took our 2 and 4-year-old boys here on our way to Ocean City. We paid for the 2 hour option, which was plenty of time. The park was very clean and there was a lot for our small children to do. They loved it! The only negative is the lack of changing rooms. They have a few bathroom stalls that are very small and not ideal for changing. Perfect water slide if you have little ones. My only complaint is how the life guards interact with my son. My son was laughing and smiling and the lifeguard sat there looking miserable and ignoring him. She didn't smile or anything. My 2 yr old was talking to her and she just sat there with a grumpy face. This is a fun place. It's clean. Easy access. It was fantastic for my 6 year old. It has a very small, baby pool (I'm talking 9" to 18" of water). A bigger kid area... where the water is maybe 2.5 feet deep. A very, very lazy river and two slides - one a tube slide, one tubeless. Truthfully, there isn't much to do but my 6 year old loved it and it's clean. The lines were minimal. The crowd was minimal. What I don't like is the unattentive life guards. There are 3 life guards on the lazy river and at one point NONE of them were around. I also saw 3 life guards eating at their station which is something I've never, ever seen before. Aren't they suppose to be fully aware and watching at all times? After they ate, they leave their station to throw away their food and/or containers. Last, at one point the lines where maybe a 10 minute wait. For some reason 2 male lifeguards where going to the top of the slides over and over, cutting in front of everyone, and sliding down... for about 20 minutes. I know these men where life guards as they had the red trunks on, spoke to the other guards, I saw them come out of an area marked "for employee's only" AND I saw both of them watching the kid pool later. In my opinion, they don't rotate their guards frequently enough. I'd definitely tell someone to go to Frontier Land first THEN come here if they have an extra day. read more

We had a very positive experience here. Not the biggest or baddest water park but perfect for our 7 year old and 18 month old. The staff was attentive, well trained and polite and the park was clean and well kept. In an area where some places do the bare minimum on upkeep and really hammer the tourists on prices this place does not. They actually allow you to bring in your own food or grab pizza/snacks from their concessions next door. We got a large cheese pizza for $16, which wasn't the best pie but I have paid more and gotten worse at similar places like ski lodges or even the OC board walk. They offer a multi trip discount which reflected a 30% discount and is valid for the whole season which saved us about $60 for three visits for four people. Look forward to going back later this season- the lines were not that long even over 4th of July weekend. read more

This place is amazing! So much fun for a fair price. The little ones loved it. We brought along our 3, 5 and 7 year old kids. Plenty to do for all ages. Apparently they install brand new slide this year. The kids loved them. The wife enjoyed the lazy river the most. We were reluctant to try this park because we are usually the people who vacation at the beach for only the beach. But we were glad we did- our three kids (7,6,&4) had a blast. We decided to get the two hour tickets (this was more than enough time to do everything at the park multiple times!!). The prices are a little steep but in comparison to competitors the option of two or four hours makes this water park a little less expensive. Our seven year old loved the bigger water slides. We all loved to float around the lazy river. Our youngest liked the smaller pool with two smaller slides. Four out of five stars because for what the water park is it could be $5-$10 cheaper. That being said, if the kids asked to go back we would likely return. read more

Our kids are all under 10 and we LOVE this place. Two very nice wading pool areas for young kids, a lazy river, a small beach area and two very fun water slides. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas with concessions nearby. My wife and I love it because it is very "manageable"... Everything is situated in a relatively confined area (which is great when you have small kids) unlike some other water parks in OC that are more expansive. My kids love the big slides and spend a fair amount of time in the lazy river. It's clean, the lifeguards and staff are helpful and super friendly. Terrible experience!! Went with my almost 3 year old, myself and husband. While at the cashier we were informed that since he is less than 42" he must be accompanied by a paying adult, understandable. So he was $10 and I was $20 and it was agreed that my husband would just observe, so he did not get a wrist band. We were also notified (& there was a sign) stating under 42" could not go on the "New" slides. We approached the first set of slides, my son was hesitant and wanted me to ride with him- at this point I was told I was not allowed to go on the slide with him. There was a language barrier between myself and the lifeguard. I continued to walk with my son to the other slides, asking another staff member if the two large slides were the 2 that he was unable to go on in which there was another language barrier and the girl said she did not understand what I was asking. I returned to the cashier, asking why is it that I paid to be with him if I am unable to go with him and he is unable to go with me. At that point we were debating just leaving right then and there but did not want to disappoint my son. He found a little slide that he was really starting to enjoy- we started having fun in the shallow water when my husband who was just observing from the cement was approached by the cashier. He stated that if he was going to stay he needed to pay $20. Even though he was not participating. This got me livid and I immediately asked for a refund. We returned to the front where he got off the phone with his "manager" and stated he could only give me a rain check to come back another time. We literally were there 10-15 minutes. I told him to keep his rain check as I had no intention of ever coming back. I asked for the number of the manager or to speak who he was on the phone with and he refused. He stated his name was Sergei. I am beyond disappointed for my son and to find out this business is not family friendly, just money sucking & dishonest. read more

This is a great little water park. My boys are 7 and 10 and had a blast. It probably wouldn't impress a teenager. We arrived at 2:30 on a Thursday and it was slightly crowded, but not terrible, and emptied out more and more as the day went on. There are 4 slides suitable for little ones, 2 play pools, a lazy river. While there are only 2 big slides, they're great and the lines were never long and they moved quickly. My kids got in a ton of rides on them. The park is clean and lifeguards are attentive. There was one in particular the kids were flocking to bc he was laughing and playing with them and genuinely seemed to be enjoying them (he was watching the landing at the kiddie slide, so he was not neglecting any duties of watching the water). There is also a large pirate ship the kids can play in, a snack stand (cash only), and real food right next door on the Fenwick Boardwalk. Plenty of lounge chairs and bathrooms are available. No lockers or changing rooms. read more

This is for Thunder Lagoon Water Park only. In comparison to Jolly Roger Water Park and Jungle Jim's, this is both smaller and cheaper (I think almost half price). That said... it's about half the size! There are two "big" slides, but again, in comparison, they are not that high. There's a splash/play area with two smaller slides, things that dump water on you, and a lazy river. The lazy river is small, but has a couple areas where water dumps on you or the kids can press buttons to activate water. We went VERY late in the day, so there was hardly anyone there. For my "big" kid -- 11 -- this made the park fun as he didn't have to wait in line for anything. The park is small enough you won't lose anyone. The little one (7) liked it but was frustrated that she had to wear a life jacket for the "big" slides (42-48 inches need to do so). The other parks don't make kids that size wear them for those size rides, so....? ALSO -- small bathroom, no freshwater rinse and only place to change is in the bathroom stall. So if you wanted to change to do the golf or the go kart... not the best. The food is OUTSIDE the water park on the "boardwalk" so not as convenient. Wouldn't want to be here when it was super crowded. All in all, if you only have a couple of hours ($20) and you don't have teens, not a bad way to spend some time. read more

Our family has been coming to OC for summer vacations for about 5 years. We just discovered Thunder Lagoon Waterpark and WE LOVE IT! We bought a discounted 3-day savings pass (gives us 4 hours per visit for any 3 days we choose). Our daughters - ages 6 and 8 - have had a blast there. The staff is really nice. The place has plenty of lifeguards posted at every slide/pool. I never worry when the girls separate from each other or us; there is ALWAYS a guard watching. There's plenty of chairs, picnic tables and umbrellas, they allow exit and re-entry within your visit's allotted time slot and they allow outside food and drinks!! Our girls were getting bored with "just the beach" this week, so Thunder Lagoon definitely saved us and tires them out! We have 1 more visit on our pass (which we just learned NEVER expires!!) They will absolutely see us again and again. read more

Great water park! Thunder Bay was a great choice for our kids ages 2-10. Each child had something they enjoyed and none of them ever became bored! We choose the two hour time block and that was a perfect amount of time for us (kids were tired.) the price was definitely equal to the entertainment. The staff and lifeguards were very kind, helpful, and attentive. Safety is paramount for Thunder Lagoon and they achieve a high level of safety without making you feel "picked on."
