Always trying to add on work. I hate it when you go in there and they try to add on, example tires need rotation, oil leak , wipers, there's always something. My car has close to 500,000 miles leaks a 1/2 a quart every 5,000 miles, they say I need a new gasket some where leaking oil. 1/2 a quart every 5,000 miles . Quit going there and everything's fine. I guess oil changing doesn't pay the bills so add on what you can. Quit going there after they kept insisting that I needed a new head gasket, new place doesn't even mention it. read more

Went for an oil change. Asked them to look at my right tire as the sensor was on and it's low air pressure. They do the oil change, have me come out to try to sell me new air filters, and when I ask about the tire, they said "yeah pressure is low." I walk past the car on my way to the waiting area again, I see the screw I suspected was in my tire. I point it out and they said "well explains your low tire pressure." I asked them to patch it, and some older man who wasn't even the main tech on my car tells me it's not able to be patched, and I need a new tire. He said it's in the sidewall. The screw clearly is on the tread, and no where near the side wall. I said that's fine. Paid and left. I drove over to a neighboring business, and they were able to patch my tire in 15 minutes, no problem. Would not recommend this place. I won't be returning. read more

I brought in my vehicle today for an oil change and was greeted by Kris Ellasces who right away took care of paperwork and said the service would be completed fast. Didn't even give me a quote for the service, just took my keys. After watching him work for a few minutes, I had enough. Took my keys from the desk and left. The second visit to change a light bulb they wanted $75.00 plus the bulbs. And BTW, it only needed 1 bulb. They treat women differently!!! Shame on this company taking advantage. 2 Appointments made in advance and time slot was not honored. Technicians change/add on services supposedly needed in order to do alignment. Prices for parts and labor higher than what others charge. So I'm still not too sure about this place . This is my 3rd time here. 1st time they were amazing , 5 star service. 2nd time , 1 star service . This time I am going to stick with 3 stars. Not bad but not the best I've been to. The lady ringing me up was nice and the place is clean , that's a plus . They were quick so we didn't have to hang out long. I normally change the oil for my car but I would come here when I am lazy to do that. I like this location because of the friendly staff and competitive pricing. It gets busy here so I would normally call to see if there is a long wait time. Most of the technicians here seem to know what they are doing. You can find coupons for oil changes from time to time and that would help out the wallet. read more

Needing an oil change for one of my vehicles but not having the time to drive to the dealership nor wait on their service, I decided to give these guys a try. Greeted at my car promptly...WIN! So many time I've been at the dealership and waiting for a service writer to acknowledge, none of that here. After listening to my needs, I was given a full explanation of the service that would best suit my needs. I was also given the details of synthetic oil changed needed versus a conventional oil change so there is no confusion of the price. Waiting in their comfy and very clean waiting room for about 39 minutes, my car was ready. Completed as quoted and even got to use my Yelp check in offer for a $5.00 discount...another win! I would really advise that you proceed with caution, especially when using their services for a Smog Check. Here's my story. My vehicle is a 2013 so its not super new, but its a nice vehicle that has been very well maintained and has not had any modifications to it, so there's no reason for it to not pass smog. I typically take my car to a place on Kentucky Ave in Woodland, but I guess that guy retired because his phone was disconnected. I don't really know many smog places off the top of my head locally, so I turned to the monthly Woodland Coupon mailer for ads. One of the first I found was a coupon for smog at this establishment, so I decided to try this place and I also wanted to get my oil changed. So on a Wednesday afternoon, I take my car and paperwork to SpeeDee, anticipating a smooth smog check. I was informed that my car sent an error code, and while my check engine light had not gone on, it was about to and my car would not pass smog. I thought this was really peculiar because in the entire time I have owned my car, the check engine light has never come on. The gal at the desk said I could have a diagnostic for an additional $130, but it could not be performed until Monday. They apparently could not tell me what the error code was and scheduled me for the diagnostic. I proceeded with the oil change, made a diagnostic appt for Monday, and went on my way. It is now Monday. I have been driving my car since Wednesday and not once did I have issues or did my check engine light come on. In talking to friends I learn that the tech will absolutely know what the error code is in pretest, and there's no reason they couldn't give me that information but for no other reason than to make money. So when I return at my diagnostic appt time, I tell Gina at the desk that I want to run a pretest again and not a $130 diagnostic, (because I am positive something isn't right with these folks). While I am waiting, there are at least 4 other people in the lobby waiting for various services to be completed, and some of these cases also happen to be $130 diagnostics. As I am sitting there I am feeling less and less confident of this establishment's ability to service me properly and honestly. The straw that really caused me to call it was when some dude named Randy was there before me and whose car was also having a diagnostic was told he needed ANOTHER diagnostic. I heard the customer say "Another $130 on top of this $130 diagnostic?" Gina just looked at him blankly, because she's clearly not there for the customer, and this gentleman forked over another $130. I immediately made another appt with a different smog place from the SpeeDee lobby, grabbed my keys, asked for my paperwork, and got the hell out. Their smog coupons are a great marketing tool, because there's clearly a population of people that don't know better and get sucked in to paying more in the end with their BS diagnostics. I ended up taking my vehicle to Woodland Smog, and was in and out of there within an hour WITH a smog certificate. Just sayin. read more

Hello, my name is Tim. Today is 1/20/24. I have been using Speedy Oil Change for a few years. They are always competent and timely. This morning was a rainy wet miserable start to my Saturday. I pulled into the W. Main Street location and as I got out of my Tacoma. I was immediately greeted by a young lady named Mandy F. who cheerfully asked me how they could help me today. I handed her the previous Speedee windshield sticker and told her I would like to get an oil change. She kindly asked me if I wanted the. Or cleaner checked as well. I let her know I just wanted an oil change at this time. She politely asked me a couple more questions and informed me my vehicle would be next. She got the vehicle mileage and ran over the list what things would be checked and showed me where to put my information and sign consent. All of this as she stood in the rain getting her hair wet with a smile on her face. Her professional demeanor and cheerfulness in the rain made my morning. When I went inside to wait. I saw Mandy take my vehicle inside the service bay and proceed to perform the oil change. In less than 30 minutes she came into the waiting area to go over and explain everything on the 17 point check list and advise me of the poor condition of 3 of the tires. Richard was great! He consulted the manual to verify proper oil, amount, and other parameters. He made note of several items that were starting to wear and 'might' need to be replaced, but didn't pressure me. He explained everything very well. My only gripe was not about the actual oil change or 'Richard's' service but the front counter person went missing for like 10-15mins and I couldn't leave until I paid. I dropped off my car for an oil change. They quoted a price and I went next door for lunch. About 15 minutes later they call me mid service and raise the price by over $30! Nothing I could do at that point so I just paid it. Will go to my regular guy from now on. Edit. Business reply was nonsense and didn't address the issue at all so I lowered the star rating. They should not be able to arbitrarily change the price in the middle of doing the work no matter who owns it. The same price that they told me not 15 minutes before when I handed them my keys. Myself and my family has come here for years to get regular oil changes and smog. They always provide quick service even when busy, at affordable prices. I appreciate that they let me know manufacture recommended maintenance items, but are never pushy about doing them. We also use them for repairs. Now my husband has a disabled adapted vehicle which can be pricey to maintain and repair and they always provide fair prices. One of them brought me out to show me a few things on my car, and I looked down to see the employee changing my oil looking up my shorts through a small crack in the front of the bay. I pulled into Speedee and the nicest employee aired all my tires up and I kept offering to pay for the air and he informed it was no charge. I've gotten an oil change here also. I will never bring my car here again. First and definitely the last time! I had an A/C issue with my car and a tail light that was out. I usual take mt car to Master Tech, but they decided to take labor day weekend off. Who can blame them, Id want the entire weekend off myself. Now I'm left to find another "reputable" mechanic around town. I ask some friends and the name Speedy comes up a few times. I decide to take in my car ASAP as I need my car for the weekend. Legally I cant drive my car with a tail light out. Once I pull into the shop, I'm greeted by a Speedy associate. He seemed friendly and knowledgeable. Gave him my keys and was told to expect a call in about an hour to give me the diagnoses of my car. Was not told about a shuttle service, So I asked a family member for a ride home. An hour passed and got a call from the shop. Was told the AC issue would run me from $800.00-$1240.00. The repair estimate was given by a VISUAL inspection of the car. At this point, I feel like I'm trying to get shafted. Why do I say this? I took my car to a Mechanic earlier that year and he said all it needed was a hose replacement, Unfortunately this mechanic moved out of town before he fixed my AC, Back to Speedy, So I tell the mechanic on the phone that I would decline AC services and would just have the tail light fixed. The mechanic said I could pick up the car in 10 Minutes. I pick up the car and the lady in the front counter seems a bit shaky, She couldn't even find my keys. Very unorganized! I pay my 14.99 fee for a new light bulb. I drive home, park and then feel curious about my light. I check the tail light AND ITS STILL OUT!! I quickly call Speedy and ask for a manager. I figured management would remedy this issue. He said the light could have blown out within an hour of driving home. I LIVE 2 MINUTES FROM THE SHOP! He said to take it back in, they would need to run a diagnosis that could possibly run me about $100.00. Not one apology was given to me. My question is, did they check to make sure the light was functioning before the car was cleared? Did they check the fuse? Did they even change the bulb as they were focused on the AC issue? There's no way in hell I'm taking my car back to this unorganized business. Thank god police didn't pull me over for a busted tail light on my way home. Shame on my for not checking the mechanics work before leaving their premises. That's what I get for trusting a mechanic shop I'm not familiar with. read more

I thought they closed at 5:00 so when I rolled in at 4:30 I thought I'd have plenty of time to get a quick oil change. It wasn't until I was in the waiting room that I saw the posted hours which said they close at 4:30 on Sat. These guys could have turned me away and went off to their 3 day weekend but they went out of their way to help me instead. I ended up getting my timing belt replaced as well because they took the time to show me that mine had a tear that could have gone at any time. A+ for customer service! Car was having issues so took it in. They replaced two hoses and said we also needed a new battery and alternator with a quote of over $700 for all the work. Took it to a dealership and found out that the alternator was fine and the battery borderline so did have replaced. The second opinion at the dealership saved us a lot of money. No longer have trust or confidence in the Speedee establishment. read more
