First of all, I think some of these earlier reviews are NOT accurate at all and should be discounted as to their claims. I went in to Speedway to look at some quality cars. The salesperson Steve, was very cordial and friendly, and NOT high pressure at all. I looked at some preowned Mercedes and a Maserati GT (all convertibles). I had a very specific focus of what I wanted. Like any preowned car, you should try to look at the CarFax to get a better history of the car and its prior owners (as well as the maintenance) before you look at the car. I looked online before I went to the Dealer. I looked at cars at several other dealers in both WI and IL before coming to Speedway. I was a little leery by some of the reviews here, but they had some cars I was very interested in. I bought the Maserati GT and have been very happy with it (driven over l,000 miles so far). With only one previous owner, I could tell it was solid car to begin with. A friend came along who is also a car enthusiast who owns a Quattroporte as well as seven other cars (Bentley, Mercedes, Porsche, etc). He was impressed with the car as well (low mileage, single previous owner) The dealer team was very professional in both the contract negotiations AND coming through on ALL their promises to fix minor issues before I got the car. They backed everything they said, which I value highly. I was VERY impressed with not only sales (Steve) but also the Service Department (Issac) who made sure the car was perfect on delivery. Even the owner, JR was very positive and wanted to make sure the car was complete. I WILL be going back there for Service and I have already recommended them to some friends who were looking for cars for themselves as well as their kids. My recommendation to everyone looking at a preowned car is, you are NOT going to get a "perfect" car, but when the Dealer backs up ALL promises to fix both little and big things you find - like putting in a fresh battery and matching a speed-rated tire so that the whole set matches on the car - that's who you buy from. I have dealt with dealers on both new and used cars and I really liked the whole atmosphere at Speedway. They delivered on what they promised. read more

If you read these reviews please save your time and don't go here. Salesman are pushy and made the trip last twice as long because they were trying to dispute how much money I made per year as an engineer thinking I couldn't afford to finance a sub 10k car. Didn't air up tires as promised, If a salesman named Jose comes to try to sell you a car run as far away as possible. Ran a hard check on my credit after I already explained to them I was pre-approved by the local credit union. I've had this used 2010 Chevy Malibu for about a week and have found multiple issues including the tail and flex pipe being broken. Only bought the car because I was in a pinch and needed one for work. But will NEVER buy another car from here haha. This was in October 2024. Tried getting a Toyota MR2 rear-engine, 5-speed and the salesman went on this tangent about how he couldn't find my credit based on my social, claimed bank's don't usually give out loans for older cars ( absolute and complete horseshit! and a LIE). I have purchase three cars from them over the years. They offer fair prices and can get you financed. Like everything else you get what you pay for. Don't buy a $1500.00 as is car, and expect a 3 year 36k mile warranty or it to last another 50k miles. They sell used cars. If you want new, go buy a New. If your credit is perfect go buy a new one! Went car shopping with a very limited budget and reasonable expectations on finding a safe vehicle with some issues. Showed up after having contacted them about two vehicles online, being assured we'd be contacted if the vehicles were sold or unavailable. One was sold and the other had major mechanical issues, but we were assured they could find something for us to look at. What we were shown was a rattling mess, with dead power windows, dead power locks and dead power mirrors. The front tires were so bald threads were showing and the hood latch was busted so I was warned not to take the speed up too high during the test drive. When I made clear I wasn't paying $2k for this car, I was derided and told I would be lucky to get a car that runs for that price. Later that day I did, elsewhere. We were lured to this dealership with deceitful practices. We received a lottery looking card that said we won $5,000.00 cash. When we went in to redeem it they said we didn't win the cash, that we were just a winner and would leave with something. My wife and I are both educated people. I went here in 2006 to look at a used BMW ci. I asked the slimeball salesman if I could take it for a test drive, he said sure, but then asked me 3 times thereafter if I really wanted to test drive it. Im not sure if it was his intention to imply that I couldn't afford it, but he certainly made me feel that way. I was so annoyed I spoke with the manager who seemed indifferent and uninterested. I ended up buying one up the road at Champion Motor Cars a couple weeks later. One positive is that they do have a good location. They must get a ton of window-shoppers cutting thru their parking lot going from Menards to Home Depot or Target, etc. I know I still drive through despite my unfavorable experience. read more

Until we actually needed to use it, then it covered NOTHING. and not only did it not cover anything- The staff (Issac and Jr.) at speedway auto mall were completely RUDE to my husband and did not provide any sort of customer service. Not getting good service yet . Bought a very expensive Jeep here and 2 days after having it the automatic running boards broke. Had it for a week now and I am they can't fix it SORRY. But if you can find them somewhere we can put them on. Told me they are not made for a lot of weight and that's probably what broke it. Worst service i have ever got specially on a first car buying experience. I bought a 2003 diesel ford 250 from them. I got a warrenty with it and the warrenty apperently does not cover half the stuff wrong with it. Then 2 months after having my truck my injector goes out so i replaced the one that cost 700 dollars. Then not even a month later another 2 injectors went out on it so i decided to replace them all. Not even 3 weeks after it getting fixed and it being in the shop for 2 months my injectors goes out again. Took it back to the shop and it was in there for a month and a half. Now I got a bad oil leak. I wanted them to trade me in for a different car and they cant they said no now i have this piece of Crap that is holding on by threads and they basically told me they can not help me read more

HORRIBLE . Right off the lot they started to throw their selling tactics at me and boyfriend that were clearly just looking. We didn't even get to see one car without them trying to get us in to apply and buy. Then, they tried to say that they had OUR "best" interest and they are the "best". However , all their cars are extremely over priced and they are just so pushy. All the employees were rude and said they would keep in touch and check up on us. I only went with them because I needed a car by Monday and it was Thursday. Seeing how we were going to apply to get financed , not one person ever called or even checked up on us . We didn't even find out if we got approved or not . We called back they put us on hold and hung up. We tried calling again and they said to call back later . Tried one more time and they were so rude and just said no you didn't , try some where else and hung up. This place is BULL! I bought a car there and I know with used there could be problems. But I put new brakes, a tie rod end , a sway bar a new tries. I got a oil change and went to have the bulb on the headlight changed and it has to be rewired at the Chrysler dealership. This is getting out of hand. read more

After looking around for several weeks after I totaled my car, I found exactly what I was looking for at a great price. The sales man was very helpful, and they were able to get me a lower interest rate than our bank. We did have an issue with a tire shortly after purchase, but took it in for their service department to look at and they took care of it no problem. GREAT SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!! We were having an issue with our other vehicle that we did not purchase from them. I did my research and was pretty sure I knew what was wrong with it so we got a quote from the local Chevy Dealership and from Speedway Auto Mall. Needless to say Speedway was half the price of the Chevy Dealer. While we had it there the service manager notified us that it had a factory recall on it. Since they do not do recall work, I was surprised that they would go that extra step of making us aware of the recall and telling the locations that would be able to take care of the recall for us. For now on we will not take any of our cars to the Chevy Dealership for service without checking with Speedway first. read more

I bought a Subaru and had to return it the next week; the engine had piston slap. They took it back, paid if off since we had made the first payment. They sold us a 2013 Ford Escape 1.6L Eco-Boost. I just made the first payment and it has been dead in our garage since the 1st week we had it. They did replace the computer; but it still shows an error message "engine temperature high" and then it goes into limp mode and won't run. It has died twice on the road leaving us stranded; and had to be towed; the first time it was towed back to Speedway. The second time, it was towed to my home where it sits dead!!! I called the dealership; but they won't return my call. We did not buy the extended warranty so I guess we are S O L. I've read complaints about this issue with this make & model and so far it's a mystery as to how to fix it. I expected to buy a used car that had been examined by competent mechanics before it was put on the floor to be sold. I'm disappointed with both the Speedway and Ford. This car is obviously a Lemon based on all the complaints and recalls I've read about. I'm out $15K on a shiny black SUV that is not drivable. read more

I went up there very excited to buy a new vehicle but Isaac and JR were the biggest jokes of that place. They hassled me so hard and fooled me into buying a truck that they said was a very dependable truck but turned out it was the biggest Lemon I will ever drive. The place should not be able to sell cars to good people I did not ask for this. The warranty does not cover what they say it will. Never ever go there. They will talk in circles until you are pulling the hair out of your head. They blame you for everything that has gone wrong with the vehicle knowing dang well what they have just sold you and they played dumb. I hope people find this review very helpful and that do you do not take your business to this place. This evening I completed a transaction at Speedway Auto Mall with Dawn Baker. I had contacted Dawn previously regarding selling a vehicle to her dealership. She gave me a price over the phone pending an in person review. When I arrived, she found a few small paint chips and minor exterior blemishes I had not noticed. After a brief conversation, she ended up honoring the price she had quoted minus a minor deduction for the blemishes. All in all, I found the transaction to be pleasant and straightforward. JUST THE NATURE OF THE GAME After careful consideration, my husband and I drove 3 1/2 hours to this business. The night before we spoke with a salesman who checked to make sure the truck was available to buy. We specifically told him to call us if things changed. We woke our 9 year son up early and made it to Speedway after 133 miles. As we walked in the salesman said, "Oh, hey, I was just going to call you. There is a man here filling out paperwork to buy the truck. We were shocked that he felt he could decide for us that a phone call really wasn't necessary. Disgusted, we left. As we were leaving another salesperson let us know that it is just the nature of the game. A phone call to the co-owner, did have a contrite response, a defense of his employee, and an offer to pay for our gas. I told him it was his business and he can do with the info what he felt. I purchased a vehicle from them, my credit wasn't good and they were able to help with financing. The idiot salesman was exactly that........ an idiot. The spare tire wasn't on the vehicle when I finished purchasing. The idiot told me he didn't know where it was at that time but if I stopped in the next day he will get with the shop and put it on. Needless to say they didn't have it and told me he knew a used parts store that I could get one cheap. The service engine light was on also and the idiot said they will fix that. So I drop the vehicle off they gave me a service car to drive in the mean time. A week and half later the idiot said they fixed it. He said they had to purchase a new intake system which cost $2000.00 and it is all good. The vehicle was running good until approx. A month ago when the light came back on. I took it to my mechanic and he said it needs a new intake system and the connector for the right front throttle motor is damaged. We stopped in here to purchase a vehicle and had a good experience. I loved that the showroom had a McDonald's playplace style thing for the kids to play in. That, plus the fish tanks and other things for entertaining the kids made the experience much less painful for ourselves and the kids than car buying usually is. We were able to get a vehicle that we liked for what we feel was a fair price (lower than we were seeing elsewhere). The initial trade in offer was lower than we wanted, but they did end up bumping it up a bit to a trade in value we were more comfortable with. The only complaint is that we found some nicks in the windshield after we bought the vehicle (it was raining when we bought it so we didn't notice them amidst the raindrops) and upon bringing it in to see what they could do, they found they'd already tried to fill them and we ended up having to pay to replace it ourselves-something I do think the dealer should have paid for. Beyond that, our salesman was Steve-we enjoyed working with him. He wasn't at all pushy (something we greatly appreciated) and was friendly without being that "fake friendly" we've gotten from some car salesmen. Overall, we are satisfied with our buying experience and wouldn't hesitate to go back. I can't be the only one who's had an at least decent experience there, they wouldn't still be in business otherwise. Most of the time, reviews are only left for negative experiences rather than positive, so I think if more people with positive experiences thought to post a review, this place might look a bit better here on Yelp :) read more
