Dont get me wrong I understand it may cost them. But come on. .50 cents plus state tax AND the tax they charge 55cents. For a 99cents a black and mild Jazz at the store is $1.55? I'm sorry, there is no way that's legal. Anything bought under $5 on debit has a 55cent tax. I use debit and credit cards everywhere and I've NEVER been charged so much. I've seen them charge customers different prices higher prices than what's posted. Most of the items dont have pricing on the so they can charge you 100-400% more. Unfortunately this is the closest local store that I can go to since I dont drive, yet, but weather permitted I will ride my bike to a further store. They have a lot of unhappy customers which is probably why one of their window was smashed out .....I DO NOT CONDONE VIOLENCE OR DAMAGING SOMEONE PROPERTY AT ALL, but I guess karma is a bitch after all. They do not give you itemized receipts for a reason. Think about it. Why wouldn't they?

I usually fill up at Costco, but when I'm not in the mood for the crowds or the drive, I come here sometimes. I had a very unpleasant experience two days ago and I'm not sure who can help correct this:…read moreThere was a violent rain/windstorm in Rochester on Monday and I drove down East Avenue towards Wegmans to buy groceries. A large tree had fallen down onto East Avenue by 1530 East Avenue, and in the rain and dark I drove right into it (as it was unmarked by anything and there were no street lights nearby). I was fine but the car's windshield was broken and undoubtedly there was damage to the front. After the accident, I was phoning the AAA to get my car towed as they do not charge for towing, when a policeman came over to me and said "I've called for a tow service for your car." I said, "I'm on the phone with the AAA right now to request towing." He said, "Hang up. The towing service has been ordered." A tow truck arrived from "East Avenue Auto" located at 1656 East Avenue in the Sunoco Gas station, about 400 feet from the accident. The next morning, my insurance company authorized me to take the car to a repair shop to be examined and have the windshield replaced. About 1:30PM I called AAA and asked them to pick the car up at the Sunoco Gas station. The AAA driver called me from the station and said the Sunoco Gas manager said there was a bill owed to them and wouldn't release the car until paid, and that the amount owed was $296.03!!! I couldn't believe towing a car less than one city block could cost that amount, but to get my car released I paid it by phone using my credit card. Here is a copy of the charges on the bill. $180.50  "Towing" 80.00 "$40/day for 2 days of storage" 5.00 "Fuel Surcharge" 9.29 "Convenience Fee" 21.24 Tax $296.03 I think that bill is outrageous; 2 days storage for having the car in the gas station lot from 9PM Monday to 2PM Tuesday, $180 for towing my car about 400 feet, "fuel surcharge" and "convenience fee" obviously just padding. AAA would have been there just as quickly and there would have been NO bill at all! I hope that the City of Rochester has some supervision of the towing process and can help me get most of that money refunded. I'll look forward to hearing from you, either by email or phone. I've written to a City Council member and will post the results.

They also have the best Vanilla Ice cream to go. I bought a gallon for Thanksgiving on my way to someone's house. I was amazed that so many people commented on the deliciousness of the Vanilla Ice cream. You don't hear that a lot. I do not keep ice cream in my house, because my husband will eat it all. The rule is if you want ice cream, we have to go out and get it. That way it's the treat it is meant to be. My husband always wants Byrne Dairy soft serve when those evenings come up. Price is great and they are delicious. It's only a stinker when the machine is not working. Which seems to happen more often than I think it should, but when it all comes together, it's amazing. Gas prices are high, but since moving to Rochester my car has not reacted well to all the different gas stations in this area. I've had my check engine light come on from "Cheap gas" put in quotes, because the costs were high, but their source is questionable. I have never had a problem with their premium gas, and after having my check engine light on again, from 7-11. Byrne Dairy is the only gas stations, that seems to have the quality my car likes. Morning donuts are phenomenal and affordable. Since I refuse to give my money to Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts, Byrne Dairy is my place. Local, fresh, and delicious. Their hot coffee also just as good as Dunkin's. Where it gets shady, and what keeps it from being our regular corner convenience stores, are the items that are not theirs. Arnold Palmers, brand name sodas and snacks that are not made by their company are much more expensive than other convenience stores. So we only go there for specific items. I love cold coffee but they only sell, Starbucks, and Dunkin' there so there's that. Also my Juul pods are more expensive there, because they do not sell the 6 pack, so I do not buy them there. Staff is usually friendly, it can be hit or miss, like most convenience stores. However, I have seen more disrespectful customers, handled well, than disrespectful employees. It can get busy in there, and It looks employee managed, so they do much better than 7-11. Byrne Dairy must treat their employees better than 7-11, because the quality of employee shows. The store is always clean. Set up is a bit weird. Their side entrance seems to be a danger to employees. The location is perfect, but because it is so close to the hwy, they do get their share of weird elements, but we as customers keep an eye out. I saw one guy acting weird and realized he had a gun. He was apprehended by a customer so quick, the guy with the gun didn't even know what happened. Lots of disabled people use this location, because people respect the clear disabled parking. Unlike 7-11, where they have one or 2 spots and employees does not care who uses them. I have a real issue with people taking disabled spaces. Employees at Byrne Dairy care as well, and do not allow it, if they see it or it's brought to their attention.

Not only was my hunger for a great banana split quenched, my life feels like it has been revitalized. There has never been a time where I have enjoyed a banana split and felt the words "Classic!" and "Hell yeah zude!" come to mind as I took a bite, until now. The best part? it's around $6, so you can split it with a friend for about $3 each and both go home happy and full! This banana split has achieved renewed splendor near my being. Shoutout to that.
