This coffee shop is lovely and is roomier inside than it looks. Love that there is ample outdoor seating as well on the quiet end of Park Ave. I love the decor and ambiance inside - dozens of large plants by the door soaking up the sun and beautiful art made out of books on the walls! I visited at 9 AM on a Wednesday and saw many people working on laptops but it was relatively quiet and relaxing. I didn't have an opportunity to order a drink but the breakfast sandwich I ordered was pretty good. I'm looking forward to coming back to try a smoothie and a coffee! read more

Love the coffee, food is a meh. I've been in to 'MCC' several times recently as it's a convenient meeting spot for lots of friends, and we usually don't have to wait in too long of a line. I'm a super fan of their coffee drinks and smoothies. They don't charge anything extra for alternate milks, and they might be the only place in Rochester doing that, and their syrups and combos are inventive and lovely. A recent fave was an iced coffee latte with coconut milk, rose and cardamom! Food wise, I want to love them equally, but so far haven't been super impressed. Their Colorado breakfast burrito, which others seem to love, is just OK. The hatch chilies are great (especially if you love heat!), but the texture of the eggs (dry/overcooked) and potatoes (mealy) reminds me of something frozen and thawed, not something fresh. The first time I had this, I thought, OK, maybe the potatoes were left overs/day olds from hashbrowns or something....but the 2nd and 3rd times it was the same experience which has convinced me these are not fresh, they are thawed from frozen, and I'm just not a fan of the mealy texture that frozen and thawed potatoes have (though I will say some days the eggs are better than others.) The ROC breakfast sandwich, another fave of other diners, was also just so-so for me. I didn't find any flavors really popping and the bread was also not special. I actually think that Bodega, another local eatery on the 'other end' of park (now sadly closed) has ruined me for all things 'breakfast sandwich' - and I'm still searching for something comparable. All of that said, the menu does change with the seasons and they are always making small tweaks so I will keep going back. On top of that, the owners are great people, and I also love the interior space, including the high-top tables and stools. I'm hopeful they win their 'zoning war' and we can look forward to more food options, like dinners (which they briefly offered but we always missed) soon! read more

When I walked into the coffee house I didn't really know what to expect. But after looking at the menu and getting a "Dirty Chai" and the "Driftwood" amazing! I had to hold off eating the whole thing before remembering to get a photo for the review. Atmosphere: Relaxed and a little dark but comfy Beverage: very good for something I haven't had before. ( I try to get something different in new places) Food: amazing! This is my second visit and I decided to wait on a review. The staff is friendly, the coffee and coffee drinks are good and during the warmer months nice outdoor seating. Also it's quiet on this part of Park Ave or better known as the ABC Streets. The inside is not very big but they have recently reconfigured the indoor space since my first visit. Yes they have Wi-Fi a plus. A lot of coffee places on Park Ave don't. Now I had that breakfast sandwich I saw on Instagram. A Rosemary Cheddar (I believe) biscuit with egg, cheese and bacon. I will be frank it was kind of a meh. The biscuit had no flavor, the cheese was basically non existent, the egg needed salt. Basically all of it needed salt and the biscuit was like nothing I had before and it needed work. So I came back and decided to order another coffee drink and try another breakfast sandwich to see if it was a one off. Now I'm sure you are going to say why did you not say anything the first time about the first breakfast sandwich. I felt as they were in a "soft opening" stage I did not wanna be that person. Things happen so I wanted to come back later and try something different again. This is how it went on the second visit. I went the day after Christmas. I had to drop off my car and thought I'd wait here for it to be finished. I came here around 8:15 am. As last time the person who took my order was pleasant and helpful. Seating is minimal as I said earlier. I got a Cafe Au Lait and the breakfast burrito with chorizo in it with egg, cheese, avocado and sour cream. It's pretty big and cut in half a plus. It's enough for two people to share or one really hungry person. The cafe Au Lait was lovely and before she put the steamed milk she saw that I was getting my sweetener of choice and said I could add it before the milk. That was great and appreciated. I heard about this breakfast burrito from a social media blogger and it was worth getting it. Here's the name of it and what's actually in it: The Driftwood Breakfast Burrito: A beautiful breakfast burrito with farm fresh eggs, avocado, chorizo, cheddar cheese, hash browns & sriracha aioli All in all it was a nice experience and I would for sure go back. It's more of a 4.5 outta 5 but I'm torn as it's a really great spot. During the warmer months they have a lot of outside seating, but parking is at a premium as it's in a residential area. Beware for celiacs: the drinks are gluten free, however, they use paper straws which are NOT gluten free! This morning I went and checked out Montgomery Court. I love the atmosphere and the low lighting of this cafe, but was disappointed with their latte selection after being recommended this cafe so many times. I had a toasted coconut latte which was pretty good - but also pretty basic in terms of lattes that I have tried in the Rochester area. For me, this cafe was a one and done - not only because of the coffee, but also because of the service. I felt like the barista was a little rude, which I can consider could just be something personal that the barista was dealing with that day. However, as someone who appreciates good service (or at least someone who is kind), service means a lot to me. Overall, the coffee was pretty mid. I think Montgomery Court was a one and done for me. read more

We tried Montgomery Court Coffee Shop after seeing social posts about their food. We tried "The Colorado" which boasted having "hatched" chiles and the hottest burritos in NY. We love Hatch Chiles, so this was why we came. The burritos were absolutely delicious, though with a few minor quibbles: It's "Hatch Chiles", not "hatched". It shouldn't be called "The Colorado" because the chiles are from Hatch, New Mexico. One of the people in our party was from New Mexico, and reminded us that there is a healthy rivalry between the states. If you're using Hatch Chiles, they are the pride of New Mexico. Also, we'd recommend more Chiles. The flavor was really good but there wasn't enough of them to satisfy our craving. Well cooked and delicious. Iced Chai was also fantastic. The place has a super cozy vibe. Great decor. Service on the food part was very slow, but our patience was rewarded with flavor. Very tasty and we'll stop in again and ask for 2x to 3x the chiles. read more

I popped in on a Saturday morning, and this place was packed! I ordered a pistachio latte, since they said that the pistachio syrup is done in-house. Tbh there wasn't too much of a pistachio flavor, but I will admit that I have never been that good at discerning pistachio notes. There are three seated table areas, and then ample standing tables. I also ordered the Rivers and Roads, which is a breakfast sandwich on a scone. For the price point it's a decent size, and the chorizo with the cheese and egg were tasty! The staff were pleasant and the place is artfully decorated, I think this is a great place to grab a bite with some friends. read more

It's always nice to have another local coffee shop in Rochester, walking distance from anyone in the ABC neighborhood or Park Ave. The ambiance is nice and casual, with eclectic decorations and tons of plants. The service is splendid, that staff taking time to learn your name if you frequent enough times and the food is pretty tasty! I'm pretty basic in my coffee orders, but have no complaints about it. Fave order is the ROC breakfast sandwich, especially on their everything seasoning roll. Glad to be a patron since they've been open and how they're able to get more seating! read more

Solid atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good music. Still working on the interior so there's not much seat wise. Ordered a cappuccino. It was very smooth. Good, fresh flavor. Very walkable, interior decor on point, amazing sandwiches, and good coffee. I really hope this coffee shop stays here as a neighborhood spot! I came here on a Sunday after a run and ordered a cold brew, while my wife got a hot caramel latte with oat milk and a breakfast sandwich with chorizo and egg, cheese on the homemade cheddar biscuit. The service is quick, friendly, chill and efficient - you could not ask for anything better. Everything was out in a reasonable time, just a few minutes for the drinks and food. The sandwich is melt in your mouth amazing and you feel like you should order two because you just that taste to linger, but one is definitely enough. Highly recommend getting the sandwich. The coffee was good - a little middle of the road for the cold brew. I might have gotten the end of this batch because it was a little light, and the caramel latte was delicious but a touch on the lighter side too when it came to strength of the brew. read more

Love this new shop ...!! First and foremost, this corner needed vibrancy, activity and sole ... Motgomery Court delivers! The quiet corner with ample sidewalk space is the perfect place for this bistro style coffee shop. I had a plain black coffee which was smooth, rich with no acidity ... I think they actually sell the beans there and is roasted locally. I then had the biscuit, egg and cheese with bacon sandwich ... this sandwich was hearty and filling, yet the biscuit was light and airy ... not sure how they do it, that is one of the best biscuits I've had in a long time! Staff is warm and welcoming, and they keep a water bowl for your four-legged loved ones to enjoy outside. Love this place and you will too ... escape the congestion of upper Park Ave and try this new local gem at Park & Colby! read more

Lovely new cafe on the east end of Park Avenue. Friendly, engaging owner and staff. The coffee was excellent, full-bodied, deep and smooth, not biting and bitter. Pastries are excellent, flavorful, buttery and soft. The Colorado burrito was a killer. Big enough for a full meal, with a myriad of flavors: eggs, cheese, sausage and potatoes with interesting herbs and just enough, but not too many, spices. Going back soon! read more
