So onward to the next gas station and again no luck. In the distance, there was Stewart's Shops. Something about their branding really speaks to me. I pulled up to their machine to find it in complete working order and unexpectedly free! No fumbling for coins, or feeling uneasy about using the card reader. They have so many variety of options. Fresh fruit beverages waters are a lot of times on sale, breakfast sandwiches and pretty decent pizza for the price. Although I still haven't had the breakfast pizza. The ice cream is always good and for the first time I tried their smoothie which consisted of apple juice and a frozen banana and strawberry pack, which was very simple but pretty delicious and again at a great price. I definitely suggested to whoever has not tried it. The importance with Steward is that it's pretty consistent and what I've had so far it's typically the case and hello people it's apple cider donut time.:))

There was NO CAR at the pump number. He was lying and took my money. This was already after the pump wasn't working had error codes on TWO pumps. So I went in for help and he ended up stealing from me. The actual store itself is also very dirty. Major work needs to be done. New Paltz has so many other great gas stations don't bother coming here.

I never imagined much, but having had riders who were planning to take themselves to a party at an industrial plant near the Residence Inn, I knew I needed gas, but was so planning to see other stations besides the Shell and Speedway stations in/near New Paltz, saw this and fell in love at first sight. I saw the temperature was getting cold, but never thought more than enough times that -1 degree Fahrenheit was really cold to try and pump. When I saw that there were no cars, I thought nothing of the temperature and decided to pump gas with my GasBuddy card at a Pay-at-the-Pump transaction. (more (side note) on this momentarily). I got out of my vehicle and thought about the feeling of being warm in the -1 degree Temperature (try to think positive when it's impossible in this life) and proceeded over to use the terminal. When I got there, my first notice was the contactless reader on the gas terminal itself: first time I've seen an Apple Pay contactless reader on gas pumps, and boy...if the GasBuddy card would've had that functionality I would've chosen it for ease of use. But I had to insert the card because it didn't have this functionality with it. (/me is annoyed: IRC terminology for "I am annoyed at the situation.") Upon beginning to pump, I was requested to watch a video on the TV monitor. It displayed an ESPN program from that days' airings, and although I don't mind sports news, I know that not everyone is happy to see this type of news at the pumps. But I didn't like was what followed the short 1 minute snippet of sports news: the weather. I knew quite a bit about the weather and seeing the upcoming predictions for that night's lows really made it uncomfortable to stand there. I saw it was supposed to get snippy cold (down to -8 degrees Fahrenheit) where to a point, all I wanted to do was finish up the fill-up and head back to my car, not stopping later for my receipt. If you want to keep your customers, don't pressure your customers to watch this type of information the moment they begin to pump their gas. Perhaps that's the reason why no one was around, and no other cars were present filling up and such.

The convience store part is clean and well-maintained; with a friendly and accommodating staff person. The highlight for us was the inexpensive coffee service; freshly brewed, with plenty of flavored creamers. If one one needs a fill-up (gas and/or coffee); this establishment is a strong choice.

I had to come through Hyde Park to get to the BurgerFi in Poughkeepsie, and although my gas tank was getting pretty barren for an Uber driver like myself, I knew I'd have enough to stop in. I was looking for a gas-station in a change-of-pace mood earlier this week, and stopped in. It had been so long since I last stopped into this location (Fall 2014), that I just had to stop in again. I was just getting gas, and much like all the other gas fill-ups, had my GasBuddy card on hand (which only works when you use the pay-at-the-pump feature). I stopped in, and although I knew once inserted and I start entering my Driver ID/PIN, the number would be visible (unmasked), I expected it. The station had a few cars when I got there, but it seemed to me like it was "business as usual." I filled up, and no sooner, was asked to report the price on GasBuddy and take off again. The exit here is tricky. It's address is centered off of Route 9, yet although it has one south-bound turning exit onto 9, for those wanting to go North, you have to pull out onto Parker Ave to reach the tricky t-intersection (with the tricky Pine Woods Rd cross street nearby). I had to go south - and although traffic was a little light, having that busier Pine Woods Rd cross street coming up, knew the situation was about to get hairy - their sidewalk made the exit a little scary, but otherwise I was prepared. I don't ever really remember ever having to really go in in the entire history of using this station (with my history of pay-at-the-pump transactions). Although I later remembered that there's a Shell and Speedway a little further down the road than this Sunoco (with teensy-bit better prices with(Shell) and without(Speedway) my five cents off discount factored in), it got me through how I felt that day. I'm closer to another city's Sunoco branch, but we'll live. We'll have to part ways now, though.

So, unless a whole bus load of Jimmy Dugans (the character Tom Hanks plays in A League Of Their Own that drinks like a fish) stopped by before 11am, then this is unacceptable. Left behind in the bowl, the empty plastic cage normally used to secure the urinal cake has become repurposed to secure as many curly brown hairs it can. In addition, everything else in this bathroom is gross too.

I've even had the experience of finding something with a price tag and have the cashier ring up a higher price at the register. Of course, most items are not priced at all. A gallon of spring water is close to $3, while a single roll of toilet paper is over $2, to give just a couple of examples. Apparently they feel entitled to charge top dollar because of their central location. Avoid unless you absolutely need something right away.

However, once I started pumping gas (after inserting my FuelRewards and GasBuddy card at the pay-at-the-pump location), I felt like this station was pumping too slow. I felt like saying "Does anybody have a pillow, while I pump?" standing there waiting for the gas to fill - a mere problem in your pumps that I'm still wondering what happened to them when I came in here the other night. But I got what I paid for, although it felt like it took forever to pump out $28 dollars (at just over 15 minutes worth of filling (because I was watching my watch)). I almost complained inside, but it was night and I know this station better then how I found it.
